Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head - Foxy Curls Contour Cream
beauanderos 4/6/2012 3:14:00 AM
OKAY. what is it about bed head products that does magic? I DO NOT have curly hair, but just wavy, thick hair and wanted something that would get rid of frizz and ease my styling process. I put this in my hair after slightly blow drying it, add the bed head voluming lotion to the roots, and some serum to the ends of my hair and then top of my hair with this WONDERFUL smelling cream and when i wake up in the morning my hair looks pretty, thick, piecy and that slept in messy look i enjoy. my hair is also cut into a longer bob so i wanted to accentuate the waves so i like this stuff! would buy again!
Loose Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
beauanderos 4/6/2012 3:04:00 AM
I have to say this DOES work when it comes to setting my pro longwear liquid foundation (which is a great foundation on its own, i just have oily skin) and an mac retail artist used on me once and i liked it! but DO use a fluffy larger brush when applying. it really helps set my foundation and i look MATTE like a mofo which i like but it can get cakey if i use a denser brush! would buy again!
Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream
beauanderos 2/11/2012 2:51:00 AM
Eh, i dont think i really have crazy eye bags or wrinkles or anything in the first place, so i cant really say if this improved much. i just got it cuz i read all the time that eye creams should be used starting in your 20s to prevent sagging and wrinkles. It didnt give me any irritation as some other reviewers stated. This product is so-so and i wouldnt buy again.
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Thoroughly Clean Oil Control Lotion
beauanderos 2/11/2012 2:48:00 AM
i like this stuff! my skin tends to do better when i use natural products and ive noticed my break out have dramatically decreased with this! i have oily skin, and LADIES, yes your skin is going to produce oil all the friggin time. theres no such thing as a miracle in a bottle. but tea tree oil naturally shrink pores and oil production so i felt that this helped my skin and my tone has improved. i use this at morning and night. when i was it off from the night before in the morning i feel like it makes my skin soft! i'll buy again!
Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Miracle Nail Thickener
beauanderos 2/11/2012 2:44:00 AM
I bought this because i had a nail break, probably because i buffed my nails too much and they got thin and long and *snap! Ouch! so i superglued the nail so it wouldnt break off (it was at the skin so that woulda been painful) ive been using this to keep my broken nail at bay while it grew out, and its only been 2 days, but not bad! it DOES take awhile to dry, and ive put about 3 layers so far (over the 2 day span) and noticed that it can also be used as a base coat! wonderful! i painted ONE coat of polish, which normally takes 3 coats to look as good...so that alone made me like it even more! it does also make your nails thick, but just as a coat of clear gel, i was kinda hoping it would sink into my nails and not be a polish but whateverrrrs. i'd buy it again if i really needed for my nail breakage.
I continue to use and purchase this foundation because it works well with my oily skin to cover my imperfections, and stay in place. I use matte cream as a primer, and do get a bit oily later in the day but i have to say this has good lasting power! Its a good price for what it is, and what it does, honestly. I think ive has a better experience with a trial usage of the nars foundation in it that has clay so it soaks up oil all day, but thats too much moolah for me! I feel like this does need to be layered little by little, depending on your coverage needs (i use about 2 pumps for full coverage) and needs a sec to dry, aka feels a bit wet, but that may just be me too used to using powders.
A great waterproof, all day lasting eyeliner! I use this on my lid that is primed and i also apply powder on my eyelids too, for extra lasting power! my lids get pretty oily during the day so this ensures a long wear, and no transfer to my upper eye lid area. You do need some time for it to dry, and i like to use an extra liner brush to perfect the cat eye and get an even, thin application. kinda like how i use layers to paint my nails and let each coat dry. anyways, it does last all day, and i will continue to buy! this is something you can definitely swim with! I had a pool party and swam with this and all my chick friends were really asking me what eyeliner i was using, cuz they were too scared to get their head wet underwater. Def something to try if your looking for all day wear. Also, invest in a good oil based waterproof eye makeup remover! this stuff doesnt budge :)
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Daily Sunblock spf 70
beauanderos 2/11/2012 2:28:00 AM
I LOVE this sunblock! I'm in my 20s and i always hear about how i should protect myself from the harmful, aging uv rays, so i decided it was time to invest in some that i could use everyday. If im on vacation, or in the sun alot at the beach, etc then i def use a water proof spray on type of sunblock, but THIS sunblock i would highly recommend for everyday use. In my case, I think the wording they used on the packaging was true: it works well under makeup, its liquidy ( a pea size amount works well for my face ) and it dried quickly which i liked so i could put my moisturized on immediately after. I recommend this product, and would use again! Reading the other reviews did make me want to mention that this may not be suitable for pool, or beach use, but everyday, yes! no grease, shine, or mussing up my makeup :) thanks! i hope this helped!
Eye Makeup Remover -Lumene - Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips
beauanderos 12/24/2011 2:26:00 AM
THEEEE BEST waterproof eye makeup remover!!! it works really well, not as oily as you think it'd be, no scrubbing needed! it takes EVERYTHING off, so you never have that leftover eye makeup smudging down your eyes in the morning. i will def buy again! its worth the 11 bucks at cvs to not have to worry about all your waterproof eyeliner or mascara not coming off!
Eyeliner -Tarte - EmphasEYES waterproof clay eye shadow & liner
beauanderos 9/7/2010 9:10:00 PM
i REALLY wish i loved this eyeliner, because its hard for me to find a cream/pot style eyeliner that doesn't dry out AND transfer to my upper eyelid after midday, but this did both. after about using 80%, its dried out. I would use it more as a cream eyeshadow instead of only a liner. Would not buy again, but i guess ill just have to trust artliner by lancome...it'll be my HG liquid for now.
I think this line of matte lipsticks need to be used on non-chapped lips, other than that, I really enjoy this range, and own nude attitude, and strawberry suede, along with pink pout. the colors are really pretty and its true to the "matte" texture it advertises. If you want an awesome higher end version of this, then get MAC's "Pink Plaid"= my holy grail lipstick color, flatters my NC 25 skintone, dark magenta/brunette hair, and brown eyes with every eyeshadow combo i use. and stays put!
PROs +keeps oiliness at bay for a few hours longer, especially if im running around town, and getting sweaty. +i use it under mac studio sculpt concealer and studio fix foundation/powder, and i've noticed that i use SIGNIFICANTLY less product on my face. i think the matte texture is soooo smooth, that it helps blend the concealer and powder around a lot smoother= awesome primer and less money on makeup and trips to the mac store +i really enjoy packaging in a tube so i can squeeze it out til the last drop =) CONs - kinda pricey...at what 18 bucks a tube? i woulda bought the monistat nonchaffing gel but i couldnt find it =/ if i have the money, i'd totally buy it again, and yeah its kinda worth trying out if you have oily skin, or want a good primer
Okay, so let me start off saying that i never use drugstore foundations. i have always been into mac thinking it was my hg foundation, but times are tough, and i dont have 30 bucks for powder, so i tried this foundation. i have REALLY oily skin, and usually by the end of the day (with my mac studio fix) my nose is super oily-looking, and with this, it was probably half as bad. it dries pretty quick, but not so fast, you cant work with it. dries and looks like a powder. but will budge if you touch your face alot or try to take your sweater off... it also never turned orange. i am an nc 25-27, and i got nude, which is a perfect match! also i should mention i used it on top of my maybelline dream mousse concealer. *no moisturizer, since i get oily anyways. lasted a really long time, felt like nothing was there great color match, =PRETTY GREAT. =) will buy again! <3
i use this to cover up my acne scars an it works perfectly! i use laura gellar face primer, then the concealer and studio fix... and my skin looks flawless! i dont know about using it for under eye....i see other reviews say it might settle in lines which i believe, because the texture is pastey, thicker (compared to studio select concealer) but a little goes a long way! it also fills in my little potholes/acne scars which is really important to me, so im happy =)
