Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Even Finish Foundation Spf 15
beasacura 8/25/2012 2:14:00 PM
Got color matched again since its the summer and I can be eith almond or warm almond. Perfectly matched to almond as it perfectly blended it my skin. Hasn't appeared to have oxidized negatively and it's been a few hours. I tend to get very oily in T zone after a few hours. My skin looks very natural and just looks even. I have a little discoloration in a couple of spots from old blemishes that turned darker. Will advise after giving it a real workout over the next week and will then report back.

Tinted Moisturizer -NARS - Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer

SA an ad for this and the co,or of the AA model was quite chocolate,y, so I thought hmmm after reading a few reviews. In Sephora MA immediately started with Polynesia to color match me and it just blended right in. Perfect color. I like the consistency and it goes on and blends well. I'm very oily in summer and especially Tzone. So far it still looks good and didn't oxidize to a funny color which can sometimes happen to to SPF on AA skin and look ashy. So far, that isn't a problem. Another heat wave on the horizon this week, so will report back. I can usually only go max 4 hours even with powder before the shinnies appear on my nose and forehead requiring blotting. Will see how this product works and will report back I took star off so far for price. It's expensive.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Natural Finish- Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
beasacura 3/21/2010 3:41:00 PM
Saw that BB finally has come out with a new foundation for combo/oily skin. While I liked the concept of the Skin Foundation formula, clearly if you are more on the oilier side, it just doesn't last long enough to be effective. I went to Nordie's today to get a sample and was kinda surprised by the differences in the colors between Warm Walnut 7.5 and Walnut 8. One was clearly more yellow than the other. MUA tried the Walnut and while it appeared darker than my skin, it blended right in and looked pretty good. It's been about 4 hours and I just blotted a little since I had been doing alot of stuff and new I had been perspiring. Still looks good and really evened out my skin tone nicely. I don't look like I have anything on. I will wear it tomorrow to work, which will give me a clear idea of how long it really lasts. I'll Update my review and let you know my thoughts after a day of wearing. Update: Wore it for the past 2 days and I must say that it is now my Holy Grail of foundations. Lasted about 4 hours before I had a chance to blot and it was still looking great. By the time I got home it was still looking great. Curious to see how it looks when the weather gets hot, but I think with some powder it will be fine. I'm very satisfied with the color selection for us darker skinned girls and the staying power. Run, don't walk to get yours.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara
beasacura 10/13/2009 3:03:00 PM
I was in Nordies buying something from Bobbi Brown when the MUA who was assisting me (not the BB regualar MUA) asked me did I need anything else, like mascara, etc. I said no and she asked me if I had ever used Dior mascara and said she was the Dior MUA. I said I had really, really, really, tried to like Dior Show, but didn't see the big deal with that and actually preferred L'Oreal Voluminzing to it. She said I should try this Dior version and I would love it and the brush. Well, needless to say, I don't like the $27 price, but it did everything she said and I just love it. Will report back after a few week to let you know if I have changed my mind.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Caviar Ink
beasacura 9/16/2009 10:47:00 AM
I had been looking at this color gel liner from BB as I have the black and espresso. Although I am a woman of color, the black can look too harsh on me at times. I needed something darker than espresso, but softer than black. Caviar ink suits the bill. Also, I left the top off one day on my black ink liner and it started to crack and dried out. Never had that happen before, so it was time to get another black or try out the caviar. Very happy with the look. As others have mentioned, it is a great color that is dark, but not too intense or severe for day/work. BB's liner last a long time, so I'm very happy with the purchase and suggest it for anyone who wants something lighter than a tar black and darker than a dark brown.

Liquid -Prescriptives - All Skins Mineral Makeup 16 Hour Wear / SPF 10
beasacura 7/2/2009 6:37:00 PM
This is my new HG product. Was walking through Bloomingdales and saw this product. MA saw me looking and asked to put some on me. She used Warm level 6 and it is beautiful and perfectly matches my skin. Looks great and is very light. It does last 16 hours and usually my T Zone is the oiliest thing ever. Of course I have to use primer and power for the T Zone, but this is perfect. I just use it to over the areas where I need some coverage since my skin is pretty good except for some hyperpigmentation. Prescriptives hit it out of the park once again. Very nice shade choice for most people.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
beasacura 3/29/2009 3:09:00 PM
Heard so many raves about this mascara that I had to try it. As most women with average lashes, always on the hunt for the PERFECT mascara. Tried this product 2x and while the brush is huge, it doesn't seem to pickup enought product and as someone else mentioned it dries out pretty quickly--doesn't even last 3 months. Looks like the hunt will continue and in the interim I'm trying the new vibrating mascara from Prescriptives, which made more of an immediate impression on me. Or back to Loreal Voluminous!

Mascara -Prescriptives - Motoeyes
beasacura 3/29/2009 3:03:00 PM
I too thought this was a gimick and if it wasn't for the relationship between myself and the MUA at Prescriptives, I wouldn't have tried or purchased it. Well, I have to say that it made an immediate impression on me and made my average lashes look GREAT with no clumps or anything. Much better than DiorShow mascara, which I just don't get all the hype and I have used it twice. My only negative here is that it's $32. That's alot for mascara.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
beasacura 2/16/2009 2:41:00 PM
After reading for various products how people were saying they used their 187 brush, I just had to find out about it. Read all of the reviews here and decided to finally get one. $42!!!!!! that is alot for one brush. However, I washed it the night before as the MA recommended and used it today (I had already viewed the YouTube video for how to use) and I must say that it does a remarkable job. Skin looks fabulous and I must say better than when I use the BB foundation brush.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Ultra Fine Eye liner brush
beasacura 2/16/2009 10:06:00 AM
I have two of these so that I could avoid having to wash one every other day and because I use two colors most weeks. Keep in mind that I wipe off the brush after each use. Here's a tip I got from a BB MA: she uses the eyeliner brush for the gel liner. Better control and better line. I tried it as well and she was spot on as usual (I love this MA who works at a Blue Mercury and does the Nordies BB thing for events). I would suggest trying th eye liner brush for the gel liner if you already have it and you'll see what I mean. The trick to using the ultra fine line is to keep it clean. I have not had a problem with splaying either.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads
beasacura 2/8/2009 2:29:00 PM
Since I use the Neutrogena makeup wipes, and use their eye makeup remover, I figured these would be great. NOT--- As the other reviews have mentioned, they appear to be dry and I need to use at least 2 to get off my eye makeup, specifically the eye liner and mascara. That is ridiculous since I don't wear that much eyemake up that would need 2 pads. I did turn over the pads in the container since the ones in the middle didn't seem as dry. Big disappointment since I love the makeup wipes.....

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
beasacura 2/7/2009 3:55:00 PM
I was intrigued by this foundation and read all the reviews here. I got a card in the mail from Bloomies for a free sample. However, stopped by my usual BB counter in Nordies first. Ask the MA for a sample and she gave me 7.5 Warm Walnut. Didn't try it on me to make sure, but she wasn't the regular MA there. Took it home and was amazed by how watery it was. Put it on and was not so enthused, but didn't dislike it. I thought it might have been a little dark since I am not normally Warm Walnut in the winter. Loved the consistency. I trend to be oily, but as I get older more combination. Well, I decided to go to Bloomies and get a sample and color matched. MA used 7 Almond and it looked AMAZING on like I had on no foundation. I mentioned that I do then to get oily in the T Zone and she applied some loose powder. It looks great and I will try it for another few days before making my final decision about buying the regular size, but if it looks as great the next 2 days, I am sold. Doesn't look like I am wearing a thing..... BTW: I have been a BB fan for years and normally wear the Oil Free Foundation, but felt it was too heavy. I've been told my skin is great, but I do have some hyperpigmention in a couple of spots that need to be evened out. Edit: I have been wearing this for about 10 days or so and it looks great. I do have oily t-zone and with powder (BB basic Brown) loose powder it looks great and lasts pretty much all day with the use of blotting papers and pressed powder on t-zone. I don't look like an oil slick at the end of the day and skins looks fabulous. Good choice!
