I tested this at Sephora today. Reminds me a lot of Bobbi Brown BEACH and/or Benefit Maybe Baby. I liked it, but not enough to purchase at full price. Will wait until I see it at TJMaxx. But it's exactly what I expected. Oh, and....I like the bottle. Is it supposed to be a beach pebble shape? BTW why do people want it to smell like the beach? Have you been to the beach? The Pacific ocean stinks, and so does seaweed when it's drying up on the sand. Who wants to smell like that? ;-)

Bronzers -MAC - Bronzer in Golden
beachblond 3/6/2011 1:33:00 PM
Based on all the positive reviews I wanted to like this bronzer but I don't. It has way to much shimmer in it. It's not a light shimmer either. On my PPP skin (NW20), it looks like chunks of sparkles. I got this at a substantial discount so I won't return it, but I certainly would not pay $27CDN for this. Hard Candy makes an excellent one that I like and its only $9 at Walmart. I also don't find that Golden shows up on my skin even though I'm quite pale. I will continue to use this, maybe just on my checks, but not everywhere on my face. It's too bad MAC ruined what is potentially at good product. Who wants sparkles all over their face?

Can you give a product minus lippies? What the hell is this stuff?! Its like rubbing bubblegum into your roots. It's impossible to rub it in, it tangled and coated my hair so bad I had to wash it twice. Beyond disgusting. Not only do I want my money back, I want to sue the company! Blech.

Bronzers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Beach No. 1
beachblond 12/10/2010 11:04:00 PM
I almost bought this at Sephora but I'm glad I didn't. It really has too much peach in it and it made my pale skin orange. The packaging is very cute, it seems like a high quality product, but I couldn't get past the orange factor. Glad I didn't buy it. Also, it's very expensive for what you get. It's just bronzer! Spent the very same amount of money on a Sephora brush set, and I'm very happy with my choice. Brushes will last forever, bronzer won't.

Conditioner -Nature's Gate - Chamomile Repleneshing Conditioner

I have never in my life used a product that smelled so awful. It's definitely "eau de old people." It's terrible. The product does condition, but there's nothing remarkable about it. Didn't take the tangles out of my hair. I could not get past the over powering stink. I returned it because I don't want my hair to smell like an 85yr old woman.

Styling Products -Aussie - Sprunch Spray
beachblond 10/14/2010 12:03:00 PM
This spray does make your hair curly, that's for sure. But I found that it weighed my hair down and really made it feel sticky & dirty. After having this in my hair for a day, I couldn't wait to get home and wash it out. It also has a horrible horrible horrible scent. This stuff used to smell like grapes and now its a sicky smell. Chemicals? I can't put my finger on it, but i wish I kept the receipt so I could return it. It does the job, but there are too many "side effects" that I can't put up with.

Lotions/ Creams -Hawaiian Tropic - Lime Coolada Moisturizer
beachblond 8/3/2010 1:22:00 PM
This review is for the large green pump bottle. This is one of those products that you want it to like because of the name "Lime Colada", but come on...this smells nothing like Lime or Pina Colada. Don't fall for the marking BS. It smells like fruit gone bad mixed with plastic. It's very greasy too. Might be good for winter skin but personally, I can't get passed the stink. This is coming from someone who's house is decorated like the Honolulu Hilton. I know tropical when I see & smell it, and this is just gross. Also a bottle of moisturizer has no business being $10 at Walmart (Canada) when I can get giant bottles of St. Ives body lotion on sale for $1.99 at SDM.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Extra Gentle Cleanser
beachblond 7/31/2010 7:35:00 PM
I LOVE this stuff. HG!!! It's like washing your face with moisturizer. My skin is so baby soft after I use this, I can't stop touching my cheeks. It removes all of my make up (even sunscreen), and has no smell. 'Everything' has to smell like 'something' so I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It has no added fragrance, it just smells like unscented lotion. I love the basic packaging and the nice wide locking pump. I haven't broken out at all, and my face feels very clean after I use it. Will continue to purchase as long as they keep making it.

Scrubs -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst In-Shower Facial
beachblond 7/30/2010 10:50:00 AM
This stuff is terrible. It makes your face tingle but in a Carmex sort of way. I found there were "fumes" that were coming off my face and stinging my eyes. It felt like putting menthol or camphor on my face. Awful, and at $8.99 expensive. Returned for something else.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Aloe Lip Treatment
beachblond 7/23/2010 10:56:00 AM
Don't waste your money on this. It's extremely drying and way over priced at $9.50. The applicator tip is odd. Instead of smoothing the product on, it rubs it off. I had to keep reapplying. Finally I've had enough and I'm going to return it. Just like everything else at the body shop, it's over priced and you can get better products for less, just about anywhere else. If I could give it 0 lippies I would. I have found that Jack Black makes an excellent lip product. Try that instead.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Pronto Petal
beachblond 6/30/2010 2:18:00 PM
I can't believe there aren't tons of reviews of this colour on MUA. This stuff is beyond pretty. The colour is bright and perfect for a summer pedi. The brush is nice and wide which made the application very easy and the polish goes on smooth. I just needed 2 coats for an opaque finish. I don't care about the 60 sec drying time and I was a bit worried that it would dry while I was applying it, but that didn't happen. Only costs $4 plus I had a $1 coupon so that made it even more reasonable. I'm very happy with this product and I can't stop staring at my toes. The "very minor" issue I had is, it dried darker than I would prefer but its barely noticeable. Only when you hold the bottle next to your feet. No more over priced Essie for me. I highly recommend this colour.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Polysporin daily care lipbalm
beachblond 6/14/2010 5:49:00 PM
This review is for the Daily Lip Care in the orange tube. My main issue with it is the product contains too much peppermint. My lips were burning from it, I could smell it under my nose, some got in my mouth and I could feel the tingle in there. Just way too over powering. Who wants to walk around having their world smell like mint all the time?? I'll be returning it and trying the one in the red box. Edit June 30: I repurchased this in the red box. It has an over powering smell of ...I dunno...Cinnamon? I can't stand it. Gifted it to my dad. He's happy. I'm sticking with Chapstick in Moisturizing. It's an oldie but a goodie.

Lip Treatments -Badger - Poetic Pomegranate
beachblond 3/21/2010 10:12:00 PM
I hate it when "I want to like something." I want to like this, but I don't think I do. After reading many rave reviews about Badger Cocoa Butter Lip Balms I decided to blow the $6cdn and pick up this in Pomegranate because they didn't have any in Vanilla Bean. I guess cocoa butter in a lip product is an acquired taste? I'm really not sure about what it is this tastes like. Chocolate? Wine? Chocolate covered berries? There's something weird about the smell and consequently the taste. I guess its an ok product. It's certainly NOT HG like Carmex which actually heals my lips -but smells yukky. I like the wide tube, but the actual product itself isn't special. It's possible it's drying out my lips since I have to keep reapplying. I have 2 other Badger products in tins (Evolving Balm, and Lavender Orange lip balm) and I think I better stop buying into all the Badger hype. The products in tins seem all have the same ingredients but different "essentials oils"- so they're basically all the same but smell different. If this tube was cheaper I might try out all the flavours until I hit one I like, but at $6cdn a tube, no way.

Lip Treatments -Badger - Lavender and Orange Lip Balm
beachblond 2/20/2010 1:01:00 AM
I have this in the tin, and I'm kind of disappointed. It smells great, the texture is nice and smooth, the ingredients are all natural, there's no animal testing, so what's wrong here? I find it's a very drying product. I put it on and I feel like I have to go get some Carmex to put over top. I'm not sure how other people can find it so moisturizing. I'm going to find another use for this, maybe cuticles or my heels but honestly this isn't a great lip product. Too bad.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
beachblond 2/20/2010 12:56:00 AM
This is the only lip balm that I've ever used that actually heals. With all the others, they're just there for scent and flavour but they don't actually do anything. With Carmex I notice a change in the texture of my lips. It heals them after I've been biting them too much, and makes them really really soft. Smells terrible, tastes bad too, but it works. I have jars and tubes all over the house, and in all my bags. And the best part is that it only costs between $1-$2. This is the best lip product out there, and I would recommend it to everyone.
