Polishes -OPI - lucky lucky lavender
rated 4 of 5
beabeautyqueen 5/14/2013 10:29:00 AM

I had this colour put on my nails at the salon the other day. A really pretty colour, however to me this does not resemble a nice lilac/lavender colour at all and I don't think that it should have 'lavender' in its name. It looks more pink, to be honest. OPI always have a nice, smooth formula and it took two coats for this to reach a nice opacity. Doesn't chip on acrylic nails but after three days I found it chips on natural nails. I'll be purchasing this one anyway. Thanks OPI, another winner!

Lipstick -Australis - Color Inject Mineral Lipstick - Flamenco
rated 5 of 5
beabeautyqueen 11/11/2012 4:22:00 AM

Another winner from Australis. After much success with this lipstick in another shade, I decided to pick it up in 'Flamenco' - a gorgeous fuschia shade. This is a bright shade which is very wearable in both day and night time. The consistency of this lipstick is magnificent. It applies like a dream and it is very moisturising, yet it stays put and does not settle into the natural crevices in the lips. The colour that you see upon application is the colour that it stays, it doesn't darken or lighten over time. The wearing time is great - I wore this for 6 hours last night and it hardly faded, however I do set it with a translucent powder. IMO, This particular shade 'Flamenco' is best worn on a canvas with no additional colour, meaning no blush or coloured eyeshadow. If you are going to wear eyeshadow, I would suggest neauturals/light browns. I like the packaging, and feels nice to hold. The scent is not overpowering nor does it have that unpleasant chemical smell. There is a slight shine to the Colour Inject lipsticks, so if you like your lipsticks to look a bit glossy then this lipstick is for you. If you like a matte finish then don't fret - I have a great tip to share. You can give any lipstick a matte finish by setting it with translucent powder (a white finishing powder). Simply take a small brush and apply the powder to the lips. This will prolonge the wear for hours and give you a gorgeous matte finish. I have uploaded a picture of myself wearing this lippie which I wear have set with translucent powder. Thank you Australis for another fantastic lippie. Giving this one 5 lippies!

Polishes -Revlon - Peach Petal #115
rated 4 of 5
beabeautyqueen 9/29/2012 11:53:00 AM

Gorgeous colour and so glad that I bought it. I wouldn't say this is a baby pink, it's more of a baby peach colour with pink undertones. I find that it needs 2-3 coats to obtain opacity. Doesn't smell overpowering upon application, and it dries quickly. I can't comment on how chip proof it is because I apply it to acrylic nails and nothing ever chips on acrylic. This polish is just as good as my OPI ones. I highly recommend.

Misc Beauty Tools -Australis - Makeup Finishing Spritz
rated 2 of 5
beabeautyqueen 9/29/2012 11:39:00 AM

I religiously use Ben Nye final seal but decided to give this product a go considering it was only $13.95. I adore Australis products but I must say this does virtually nothing for my skin. The ingredients in the spray aren't strong enough to prolonge makeup wear and stop transfer, that's why. Like many others have said, it is a lovely refreshing spray and will not remove your makeup, but it does not help it to stay on longer or prevent transfer. I will definitely keep this for the warmer months though as I think it'd be nice to keep in my handbag when I need a cool sprtiz on my face.

Lipstick -Australis - Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
beabeautyqueen 9/29/2012 11:32:00 AM

This is a great lipstick. I have it in shade Jitterbug which is the fire engine red. I have taken a picture of myself wearing it and uploaded it above (dark hair/eyes wearing the bright red shade) is me. This is an excellent lipstick and it has a beautiful application. The lipstick is smooth and very high pigment. The packaging is sleek and it feels and looks expensive. It is nor glossy or matte. It has a strong scent when you smell the lipstick itself, but upon application this disappears. It smells similar to the Dior lipstick range. I highly recommend these lipsticks as they are affordable and are the best drugstore lipsticks I have come across. I am a singer/performer and wore this shade when opening a big show several months back. I recieved many compliments on this lipstick after the show, and it was definitely visible from the audience! I am going to re-purchase and try out other shades. Another winner from Australis

Powder -Essence - Essence Fix & Matte Translucent Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
beabeautyqueen 9/25/2012 1:51:00 PM

If this isn't a HG product, then I don't know what is. I went to buy my regular translucent powder the other day but it was out of stock and I stumbled upon this for 6.95 aud (half the price of my regular) so I decided to give it a go. I must admit, I was a little worried considering it was so cheap and I'd never used an Essence product before. Ok people - this legitimately does more for me than my makeup than my regular translucent powder AND performance strength makeup setting spray do put together. It extends the wear of my makeup for hours and stops makeup transfer. It definitely mattifies and keeps all oil at bay without the need for touchups. It also gives my skin a beautiful, velvety feel. I have dry patches around my mouth and nose and this powder does not accentuate my dry patches at all. Because it is such a finely milled powder, it won't look cakey despite how much you apply. The colour is snow white but do not let this scare you - it will not change the colour of your foundation in any way shape or form. I have olive skin - it does not lighten my skin in the slightest. Most importantly it does not contain talc which will contribute to clogging your pores and lightening the colour of your foundation. This is most certainly a dupe for MAC's Prep n Prime translucent powder. Another thing which i love about this powder is that it contains 15.4g of product. Most translucent powders contain 8g, including the MAC. 15.4g is nearly double the amount of product, and it's a dirt cheap too! It mattifies, keeps oil at bay, prevents makeup transfer, and prolonges the wear of your morning fresh makeup. I have found a HG product and will continue to repurchase. For the price, quantity and qaulity, you can't go wrong. Hope this review helps! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional information: Essence do not display the ingrediants to this powder on the product. I was able to find the ingrediants on their website: INGREDIENTS: ALUMINUM STARCH OCTENYLSUCCINATE, POLYETHYLENE, DISODIUM EDTA, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, BUTYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Gem Crush Big Money
rated 4 of 5
beabeautyqueen 9/2/2012 2:53:00 AM

"Big Money". Can I just say - what a hilarious name for a nailpolish. I spent a few minutes having a giggle about it. This is a very dense, eye catching nailpolish. The combination of lilac and gold sparkles is beautiful and works with any colour. I initially bought this to apply over an opaque colour, but because the nailpolish is so dense I find it hard to see the base colour. I wouldn't really recommend this to wear over a nailpolish because you won't see the colour underneath. Once this nailpolish has dried it is really difficult to remove. I legitimately mean it when I say that I had to work for 5 minutes on each nail to fully remove the glitter. It also dries very rough too - but you can overcome this by applying your favourite top coat to achieve a smooth finish. I can't comment on how chip proof this is because I have acrylic nails and everything stays on without a chip when you have acrylics. A beautiful, dense colour. Thanks Sally, you've done it again!

Polishes -OPI - Mod About You
rated 4 of 5
beabeautyqueen 8/24/2012 9:02:00 AM

I commend curlywurly100 on her review because it is is spot on. This nailpolish is a gorgeous ice cream pink. I absolutely adore the colour. What I like about is it that it doesn't need more than 2 coats to achieve it's full opacity, however the formula is quite thick and it'd probably be handy to have some nailpolish thinner on you for when you're half way through the product. I find that it doesn't chip on my acrylic nails however it does chip on my natural nails - but so does everything. The only thing I don't like about this polish is that is does have an ever so slight lilac hue to it, but it's barely noticeable. Overall a really gorgeous, pretty, feminine colour and nice formula. OPI have not disappointed me at all! I have uploaded a picture, hope it helps!

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
rated 2 of 5
beabeautyqueen 8/22/2012 1:02:00 AM

This nail polish takes way too long to achieve a colour that is opaque. Was it even designed to bring colour? Idk. What good is a nail polish that takes 3 coats just to be visible? Also, this chips on me after a day or so. I will use this as the french pink for a manicure and that's it. I am not going to sit here wasting my time applying 3-4 coats to achieve a colour. Honestly OPI, not a fan. Won't be re-purchasing. You need to make this colour stronger.

Eyeliner -Revlon - REVLON COLORSTAY CRÈME GEL EYE LINER (all colors)
rated 2 of 5
beabeautyqueen 8/14/2012 9:01:00 PM

Colorstay? Yes. Smudge proof? No. I had my heart set on this stuff from all the great reviews. I am a bit disappointed to be honest. After several hours it has smudged on my eyes start becoming semi panda. It stays put for a while but when it moves too much. I do love the packaging. How clever of them to include the brush that is always clips into the lid and doesn't dry out. Conveniant. Due to the smudge factor, I will not repurchase

Eye Shadow -Revlon - luxurious color diamond lust in starry pink
rated 2 of 5
beabeautyqueen 8/3/2012 5:28:00 AM

Update: I've had to come back to change my review. Unfortunately I don't think I can wear this anymore, due to the fall off amount. No matter what I do I just end up with glitter all over my face. I have tried applying this before my foundation, holding a tissue underneath my eye to catch the excess glitter. Yes, it does that, but then it continues to gradually fall off during the wear time. ------------------------ I really love this eyeshadow but the fall off is ridiculous. You've got to apply this BEFORE your foundation guys, otherwise you will have a glittery complexion. I get this all over my face each time I apply it, and the formula is not smooth. It applies pretty clumpy until I blend it out. By that stage, a lot of the glitter has fallen off onto my face and it's really difficult to remove. To overcome this I hold a tissue under my eye to catch any excess, however a fair amount still falls onto my face. I really love the colour and the effect though. It is beautiful on the lids and is a mature sparkle. It really isn't too over the top like some glitter shadows can be. A stunning concept and colour, but a not so stunning formula considreing the clumps and fall off. Sorry girls, it's only 2 lippies from me this time.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Infallible Lip Gloss
rated 3 of 5
beabeautyqueen 7/18/2012 7:14:00 AM

Not a bad lip gloss, but not the greatest. Mine smells like a black forrest cake, literally. I love the packaging, the wand and also the smell, however the consistency is a bit too sticky for my liking. Not a bad lipgloss if you like more of a thick, sticky gloss, however I like mine to be a bit lighter than this. I would re-purchase again if I could find it cheap.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expert Wear Eyeshadow Trio in Best in Brown
rated 1 of 5
beabeautyqueen 7/18/2012 7:10:00 AM

I'm tired of these low pigment, thin eyeshadows that last 1 hour before fading. I have to apply so much product just to get a visible result. They are not high pigment nor does the product apply well. Sure, I love the earthy colours, but it shouldn't take me TEN MINUTES just to achieve a visible result. Maybelline are a cheap drugstore brand to me, and their products never amaze me. I'm through with them and their crappy, low qaulity eyeshadows. Better off in the bin.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance Eau Fraiche
rated 5 of 5
beabeautyqueen 7/17/2012 2:25:00 PM

UPDATE: Nope, changed my mind. I absolutely love this scent. It is both sweet and fresh, and in a citrus sense. Sure, it smells less feminine than other Chanel fragrances, but this is because of the citrus notes. It definitely has a sweetness when I wear it, and my boyfriend always comments how nice I smell when I am wearing it. Picture sweet limes with crystallized sugar on top. This is what Chanel Eau Fraiche is. Beautiful. Will repurchase when I can afford this one again! I'm sitting on the fence with this one people. As I'm writing this review, I have my Eu Fraiche sitting beside me and I am trying to determine exactly what it is I am on the fence about. First of all, I would say that this scent is definitely less feminine than all of my other Chanel perfumes. It is a completely different scent to all of the other Chance's.I agree with many other reviewers who have stated that at first it does not smell feminine, but give it 15 minutes or so and it is a much sweeter, feminine scent. It doesn't smell masculine enough to me to be a mens perfume. As far as the citrus notes go, I find the lime to be very apparent with a sweet smell to it. This is not a harsh citrus scent, it is more a sweet, fresh citrus scent which I think is very beautiful in a woman's perfume. It is a very sophisticated fragrance while it is still clean. I personally think this works best as a day time perfume. As far as lasting power goes, I can still smell it several hours after spraying, but I wouldn't say that it lasts me day through to night. I've never been so confused about a perfume, but I think that's what makes this so different from the others. It is incredibly sophisticated. It is a sweet, sophisticated perfume which leaves a bit of mystery. After smelling it 15 times in the past 10 minutes, I've decided yes - I like this perfume and it is a good one. I wouldn't spend another $115 on it though, I much prefer the EDP. Still, I'd recommend this.

Foundations -Chi Chi - A-List Foundation
rated 4 of 5
beabeautyqueen 7/17/2012 1:24:00 PM

I really love this foundation. The first, most important thing I will say about it is that you do not need to wear moisturizer underneath. Not even a primer. I know that to many of you reading this, that will sound strange. There is seriously something in this stuff that does it all. It's like it is a 3 in 1 (moustarizer, primer AND foundation) product. I seriously chuck this stuff on when I am in a hurry and do not have time to prime or moisturize and it does the job extremely well, and I religiously prime/moisturisze. I have dry patches. It applies VERY smoothly and there is no need for primer. This is a medium to full coverage foundation and I do find that it tends to last longer than most other drugstore brands. The finish is dewey, but I think that it is dewey to the point that it does not set properly. You can overcome this by applying a setting powder or makeup sealing spray and either one of these definitely does the job. I love the packaging - a lovely frosted glass bottle in the shape of a tear drop, with a lid that actually stays on AND a pump which is removable. The only downside to this foundation is that I find it separates very easily in the bottle. The transparent liquid (looks like oil) and the cream separate and you really need to shake this stuff before applying it. Even when I shook mine earlier today, my pump still dispensed an oil-like mixture rather than the foundation. I will also comment on the shades. The first time I picked this up, I found it for $10 on sale at target and there were no testers. Having medium shade skin, I decided to pick the third shade called "Light-Neutral". It was not light or neautral at all. This was an incredibly dark foundation, way too dark for my skin. Picked up the lightest shade titled "Fair" and it is a medium colour which is perfect for my skin. If you have fair skin then not even the lightest shade will match your skin. Although the product is oil free, I would not recomment this foundation for people with oily skin and it is a very dewey finish and the is extremely moisturizing. Overall, a really good foundation, especially when you're on the go, and I will re-purchase.
