Eye Makeup Remover -Simple - Eye Make-Up Remover
bdgreen74 5/6/2012 7:42:00 PM
I was really hoping this would be a good eye makeup remover, but it's not. Not at all. I use Clinique Take the Day Off and I love it; however, it is kinda pricey so I had a coupon and thought I'd try the Simple brand. It took so long and so much rubbing to get just a little make up off I just bought it today and will be taking it back tomorrow. My eyes hurt. They are raw from rubbing and I still have mascara on my face. It's not even waterproof mascara. It takes me 2 cotton balls to get all my eye makeup off with the Clinique, the Simple brand took 5 and still didn't get it all off. I just gave up because my eyes and around my eyes hurt so bad. Stay away from it. I have yet to find a drugstore eye makeup remover that works as well as Clinique.

Eye Primer -Coastal Scents - Shadow Worx Matte Eyeshadow Primer
bdgreen74 7/8/2011 8:21:00 PM
I have the original shadow wox, the one with shimmer, and I like it well enough. I love that it's shimmery, but it seems to depend on what brand or type of shadow I use on how well it works. ELF pressed shadows, it creases in less than 5 hours, MAC pressed shadows, it held up a bit longer maybe 8 hours, NYX pearl pigments and pressed shadow, it lasted pretty much til I took it off. It works great with coast scents loose pigments and micas and Ulta pressed shadow, it seemed to depend on what color I was using. The darker the color and the more metallic the color, the worse it creased. I don't know if I would actually buy this again. Probably not just because I don't want to have to think about what shadow I'm going to use and whether or not I can use this primer with it. I really do like it, but it's just so hit or miss. Update: I got rid of this. Just didn't work for me at all in the end.

Concealers -NYX - Full Coverage Concealer Jar
bdgreen74 7/8/2011 8:13:00 PM
I love, love, love these concealers. I have light, beige and green and they are my HG concealers. They blend so well, they cover amazingly, and they are really light and thin (not cakey). I have Benefit Erase Paste and I really like it and still use it, but I reach for these almost daily. Even if I don't wear makeup that day, I will still use these and it doesn't look like I have any concealer on. I am a NW20 or between 117 and 118 in Makeup Forever and light and beige both work well for my skin. I haven't mixed them; although, I think if I did it would be the perfect match for me. The green covers the redness on my face really nicely as well. I top it off under my eyes with ELF mineral concealer in light and it looks flawless. I highly recommend these. Update: While I still think this concealer is great, it was just too heavy to wear on a daily basis. I have since gotten rid of it.

Cleansers -Ponds - Morning Refresh Cleansing Towelettes
bdgreen74 7/8/2011 8:05:00 PM
Ponds makeup remover towelettes or whatever you want to call them are by far the worst product I think I have ever used on my skin. I have tried 2 different ones. I had a coupon for buy 2 get like $3 off. I have normal to slightly dry skin, these dried my skin out so badly that it hurt. They have also left these weird bumps under my skin and have broken my skin out and nothing breaks my skin out. It takes 3 wipes to remove most of my makeup and then I still have to clean my face again. I don't wear much makeup. It's summer. Tinted moisturizer, cream blush, really light makeup. Still took 3 of them to remove the majority of my makeup. I don't think it's possible to emote how much I absolutely HATE this product. Ponds should be embarrassed to even manufacture it. And what's worse is they are expensive. I thought Walmart brand was kinda crappy but I would buy those 100 times over before I would ever use Ponds again. Save your money, use Walmart brand, Target brand or most any other name brand. P.S. I tried to rate this product a 0 and it made me put a #, but I rate these a 0.

Liquid -Rimmel - Match Perfection
bdgreen74 5/4/2011 10:31:00 PM
I had a $3.00 off coupon for this product so I decided to buy it. I had tried the Stay Matte when I got married and was not a big fan so I wasn't really wanting to buy Rimmel foundation again. I actually like this Match Perfection pretty well. It gives really nice coverage without feeling heavy or cakey. I could do without the smell, but it does fade over a short period of time once you've applied it. The first time I used it I used a damp wedge sponge. The second time I used a buffer brush. Both ways worked out well. I love my Revlon Color Stay and Makeup Forever HD Foundation, but I think this may be a contender with both of those and it's cheaper than both. That doesn't mean I'll stop using the other 2, but I may wait longer to re-purchase those and give the Rimmel a real, long try. BTW- some of the other reviews mention a pump. I got mine at Wal-Mart and it did not come with a pump, which is not an issue for me, but I guess I either I bought it pre-pump or post-pump.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer- Smashing Color Adjust
bdgreen74 4/9/2011 6:56:00 PM
I got a sample of the green Adjust from Sephora (wanted to try it before I bought it). It did an "eh" job at covering the redness in my cheeks, nose and chin. I applied it with a brush as I didn't want to use it all over my face and it balled up or pilled everywhere I applied it. It was kinda gross. I felt like everytime I applied it, half would ball up and fall off. I don't think I would ever actually purchase this product.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
bdgreen74 3/29/2011 1:54:00 PM
I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I love how long it stays and how well it covers; however, I hate that it is such a high maintenance concealer. It's so hard to blend and you have to blend quickly or it will just cake up on you. It smells a little like mildew. At least mine does and it's impossible to pump just a small amount. You end up wasting more than you use. Not worth the money in my opinion. I have a travel size of Benefit Erase Paste that seems ok so far and is far less maintenance than the MAC. So far, of all the things MAC I've tried, I only like their eyeshadows.

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer Fair to Light
bdgreen74 3/8/2011 6:02:00 AM
I really like this product. There are days I don't want to take the time to put on foundation and this does an amazing job in place of that. I usually put it on around 5am and take it off between 7 and 9pm and it still looks great. I tried the Aveeno positively radiant tinted moisturizer and hated it. Returned it to the store the day after I bought it. I do put my regular moisturizer on before I put the Cover Girl on as I have normal skin, but can get dry in some places. I will definitely by this again.

Eyeliner -Ulta - Mineral Eyeliners Wet Dry Formula
bdgreen74 3/4/2011 12:27:00 PM
I have been trying to find an eyeliner that works best for me for a long time and I may have. Pencil doesn't work that well with my eyelids, liquid I have yet to figure out how to put on correctly, gel works really well for me but gel is very temperamental. I have been wanting to try a cake style liner for a while but have not mostly due to price (they tend to be rather expensive). This one is not that expensive and you get 4 colors (blue, green, black, brown). The glitter does not really show up once you put it on wet. The black and brown are muted so you are not going to get a super dark liner unless you work for it. The blue is beautiful. I love it. Although I have just started using this, I really like it so far and will definitely look for more cake type liners.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Buf Puf Face Sponge-Gentle
bdgreen74 2/28/2011 8:06:00 AM
I absolutely love the Buff Puff. I have been using Noxema (now I use generic noxema, I like it better) and Buff Puff to clean my face since I was at least in high school if not junior high (I'm 36 now). I have tried other face care products and nothing has ever stacked up to this combo. I get told often that I have great skin, no wrinkles, no big pores, etc... and I 100% attribute it to this. Expensive doesn't always mean better. I highly recommend Noxema (or generic) and the gentle Buff Puff for all skin types. Just an FYI, the generic Buff Puffs are no where near as good. Spend the extra to get the real thing.

Liquid -MAC - Select SPF 15 Foundation
bdgreen74 2/27/2011 9:18:00 PM
I use the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer and I like it because it covers my very dark circles really really well, so I went to my MAC counter to try the foundation, the girl there convinced me to try MAC Select instead, which I was really on the fence about as soon as she put it on me, but you don't know til you try so I bought it. As soon as I put it on I felt like I was wearing foundation. I could feel it on my skin and when I touched my face I could feel the makeup. I returned it 2 days later. Coverage is ok if you want light to a buildable medium coverage and it wasn't cakey, but you could just tell you had it on and that doesn't work for me. I may or may not try the Pro Longwear now.
