Bath Treatments -LUSH - Marzibain bubble bar slice
bchamp 9/29/2004 7:53:00 PM
I really enjoyed this bubble bar. It's a sweet scent. Almond, musk & a soft hint of rose. Surprisingly, it was moisturizing. I usually don't get soft, silky skin with a bubble bar. It didn't produce a bubble wall, but there were plenty of bubbles to enjoy through my entire bath. My only complaint, I don't like the almond stuck in the middle. I know it's decoration, but it looks like a bug embedded in it. The scent filled my entire bathroom, & lingered on my skin.
LUSH knows how to do lavender right! This bubble bar is very pretty. It looks like a giant Hershey kiss, with swirls of purple & white, adorned with a spring of lavender. The relaxing aroma of lavender, with a touch of rosemary, fills your senses, while the purple colored sea of water, transports you to Provence. I read a tip before, that said, "to create billowing walls of bubbles, to turn the shower on for a few minutes, after you have crumbled the bubble bar, under the stream of water, & filled the tub." This worked like a charm. I had lots of fluffy bubbles, that lasted my entire bath.
Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Pink Champagne (Fall 2004 Lady Luxe Collection)

A gorgeous shade, & wonderful lipstick. It feels creamy, & leaves a slight glossy look on my lips. It's a perfect everyday color for me. It's a medium rose-brown, with a touch of pink color. Just a gorgeous shade for day time wear. And, it smells like vanilla.
LUSH bath products, are one of my favorite indulgences. I love the unique scents, & use of essential oils. I received this as a gift, & it is one of my favorite bath bombs. Purple & pink colored, with a delicate rice paper rose embedded in the top. It is not as moisturizing, as some of their other bath bombs, but the scent, more than compensates, for this. A feminine blend of jasmine, ylang ylang, with a touch of musk. The fragrance is intoxicating. It also turns the bath water a gorgeous shade of pink.
Candles -Bath and Body Works - The Perfect Autumn-Maple
bchamp 9/20/2004 12:58:00 AM
I'm not a huge fan of maple scents, but when I spotted this at B&BW, I decided to take a sniff. It's a perfect Autumn fragrance. Instead of maple, I detected notes of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla & nutmeg. It's a delicious, warm, homey scent. It's comes in a ruby red glass container, that is very pretty illuminated. 10 oz. of wax, that burns for 60 hours. It burns evenly, & clean.
Candles -Bath and Body Works - Creamy Caramel Jar Candle
bchamp 9/19/2004 8:57:00 PM
I love the creamy caramel wallflowers, but the candle, is very cloying. A combination of candy corn, & caramel. The scent throw is good, but it's just too sweet, for me. Also, it doesn't burn evenly. I resolved this by using a candle capper. I'll continue to purchase the wallflowers, but will pass on the candle.
I've read a lot of raves for this product, & being a fan of LM, decided to try a tube. I'm really not that impressed. I find the product, greasy & not that effective. I'm sticking with my HG lip product, Qtica intense lip repair balm. Since, I have a tube, I will use it at night, since it contains alpha hydroxy acids, but once it's gone, I will not repurchase.
Another product along the lines of Buffy. A scrub/moisturizer in one. I love this concept! Some might be put off by the appearance. It looks like a flat, chunk of charcoal, & produces grey-grape colored froth, as you scrub. It didn't bother me, & I had no problem with residue in my shower. It contains pumice, so I just gently glide the bar across my skin, for great exfoliation. The butters it contains, leave my skin soft & silky. The scent, sugared blackberries. I don't find the fragrance too cloying.
Fragrances -I Profumi di Firenze - Vaniglia del Madagascar
bchamp 9/17/2004 6:21:00 PM
Vanilla is such a comforting, sensual scent, and IPF, has bottled it. Pure, straight vanilla. No complex notes, just the sweet, scent of exquisite vanilla. It might be too cloying for some, if you don't like sweet scents. Upon dry down, it softens, & the initial sweetness, morphs into a soft, warm, wholesome aroma, of vanilla extract. The fragrance is long lasting.
Lotions/ Creams -Laura Mercier - souffle body creme - au lait
bchamp 9/15/2004 6:08:00 PM
I love the consistency of this body souffle. Thick, ultra rich, whipped & creamy. Leaves my skin feeling like silk, & never greasy. The price is insane, but I've never found a product like it. The scent, from LM gourmand line, is more floral to my nose. It is very strong, initially. Floral & sweet intermingled. At first I wasn't very fond of the fragrance. It's overpowering. However, if you can tolerate till dry down, the scent softens, & a sweet milky note emerges. It's a very comforting scent. It also contains mica, so I get a slight sheen on my skin. I prefer, creme brulee, from this line, but this is nice for a change. Not something I would repurchase though, because, I can see myself tiring of this scent.
I'm a huge fan of Laura Mercier's gourmand line of products, so, I was very excited when this candle was released in, vanilla creme puff. The candle comes wrapped in a shimmery, gold organza, drawstring pouch. It's in an oval shaped glass container, & the wax, is honey-caramel color. The candle burns clean & evenly, & the scent throw is wonderful. The fragrance, sweet caramel vanilla, with a touch of cinnamon. It's a delicious scent. Burn time 40-50 hours.

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Brenda Christian - Remedies Foundation

I use mineral makeup during the day, but was looking for something with a little extra coverage, for night time usage. This foundation, is excellent! Absolutely, the best foundation, I have ever used. It's a water based formula, that is color adjusting. It comes with a flocked applicator sponge, & just one pump, covers my entire face, & neck area. It fills in each tiny pore, & fine line, & leaves a flawless, picture perfect canvas. This formula helps to heal acne, & moisturize dry skin. How versatile is that? The color is true, & doesn't turn orange. It stays perfect, all day long. Finally, a product, that delivers, what it promises & makes your skin appear flawless.
I really like this eye gel. It's a lightweight consistency, that can be used on both the lower eye area & eyelid, without worrying about developing milia. It's not very moisturizing, so it's better as a daytime eye gel. It's an excellent primer for eyeshadow. It contains copper peptides. If you're looking for a product to moisturize, this may not be for you. I like that this product is light, & provides a soft, smooth palette, for eye makeup.
I decided to incorporate a glycolic product into my skin care regime, & this is the perfect product. It contains, glycolic acid, citric acid, & salicylic acid. I have normal skin, with dry areas, & this product, has never irritated my skin, caused redness, or breakouts. It's a light gel formula, & only takes one pump, to cover my entire face, & neck area. It comes in a glass bottle. It's an excellent, gentle exfoliator. It's recommended, to use it for 28 days, then skip a week, to allow for cellular turn over. I could tell a difference in my skin texture, after using this product only once.
