Mascara -Rimmel - Scandal Eyes

I bought this because I just had a strange feeling it would be a pretty good mascara. I was really excited about taking it home and applying it, but I was so disappointed. First of all, the brush is huge and fat, and I have tiny eyes so I find I have to shift my hand around if I want to keep it off my face. It's not very good for doing the shake technique so my eyelashes always clump together with it. The product inside is very thick, clumpy and sticky. It looks really gooey and there's loads on the brush. When you try to wipe the excess on the edge, the brush is softer than I'd like and it just makes the bristles stick together. It doesn't volumise or lengthen my lashes much at all, and it doesn't build very well either. Completely disappointed in it. Rated a 2 because I bought a really cheap mascara and that happened to be much worse than Scandal Eyes.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label

Okay, so I bought a sample pack from Skin 79 that contained 4 small tubes of BB cream, each a different formula. This is the first one I have tested out of the four and I have to say, I am impressed. The packaging is lovely, feminine and simple. One the packaging it tells you the brand, the name of the formula and what it does. Here it says; Whitening, UV protection SPF25 & Wrinkle Free. I'm assuming wrinkle free means anti aging? Anyway. As for whitening, I am very pale as it is because I am Scottish and we see two days of sunlight a year, so it didn't really lighten my complexion but it DID practically match my colour. I always have an issue with name brands, I have tried loads, that claim they are 'Ivory' but they totally are not, just ask the orange ring around my hair line. This BB cream is more brown toned rather than peachy, which is great because I no longer have the orange colour of everyone else in my town! The cream is quite thick, but I love that. I find thicker creams spread more evenly and feel less powdery, although they feel heavier on your face, but it only means better coverage for blemishes (which I have LOADS of due to end of course stress)! I can't wait to make my way through the tubes so that I can decide which formula to commit to, but I have definitely found me go to...well I can't call it foundation..my go to coverage product! It's so good.

Palettes -Coastal Scents - 88 eyeshadow palette
batsandlashes 6/9/2012 11:15:00 AM
I bought this a while back and I wouldn't say I love it, but it is a good palette. As there are 88 eyeshadows there are lots of colours and shades to pick from, which I absolutely love because I love using different shades of a colour when doing my eye make up. What I disliked about this product is that the colours are generally grouped together, but they neither go from lightest to darkest shade, and there are some colours just dotted about fraying from their colour group, which irritates me. The colours are good though, I've tested them all and each has great pigmentation and coverage. They are easily blendable and spread very easy too. You don't have to totally rub your heart out to get a reasonable amount of shadow on your brush/applicator either! The eyeshadows are around the size of a 5p coin, which is pretty small, but they are dome shaped which means that there's more than you actually think and they last a good while! The price I got mines for was £23.99, I'm not sure if that's the actual price of the palette or whether I got a little discount, but I feel this is a reasonable price. For 88 quality eyeshadows it's a medium priced palette, as there are definitely some that are more expensive, and you could probably find one or two cheaper though whether they'd be good quality or not is unknown. I would recommend this if you're looking for one palette that will serve you for a good while at a reasonable price.

Lip Gloss -Barry M - Lip Gloss Wands

I've been eyeing up the Strawberries and Cream gloss for months and I finally decided to treat myself to it with my last pay from college. I couldn't be happier with it. The price is cheap compared to other brands, and I have never seen a lip gloss this colour in any other brand, believe me I've searched far and wide. The colour is very much in the name, pink and white blended into one to make a very very pale pink (basically white with a hint of pink) and there is lots and lots of glitter for added sheen! It's such a simple gloss because of it's light colour it can essentially be used to spruce up plain lips when dressing down, or adding a bit of pizzazz to a lipstick of your choice when on a night out. I haven't found myself trying to prize my lips open so it's not sticky really. I rated the packaging average because it's just a standard shape and colour lipgloss tube really. I've seen better and I've seen worse. This gloss reminds me of winter, somehow. It's snowy white colouring, it's lovely. It would honestly suit all year round though. I love it and I will be investing in more when I run out. Definitely recommend!
