I saw the great reviews about this blush the other day by accident and wanted to find it. I was asking in ULTA for it but they don't carry Milani anymore. The lady told me I could find it in Walgreens, and so I did! There was only one blush for each color left,so I grabed the only Luminous. It wasn't on sale but I didn't care. I heard this blush is a dupe for NARS orgasm,so I was really curious about it. I've been wanting to try NARS orgasm but was too afraid it wouldn't compliment my yellow skin color. Now I have a chance to test if it's the right color for me or not. Turns out I'm really really happy with this blush. It gives me a really pretty glow. It is peachy pink with shimmer, a kind of color that is hard to go wrong on anyone. The color payoff is really great, a dab of the blush goes a long way. The packaging looks cheap but it doesn't concern me so much. It has a mirror and a plastic brush underneath, which would be useful for carrying around or traveling. This is a really awesome blush in terms of price and color pay-off. I can wear it everyday and it gives me a healthy looking glow. Definitely will repurchase.
Moisturizers -RoC - Age Diminishing Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15
bathgirl803 3/9/2009 2:25:00 PM
I got this few days ago when I was buying the anti-wrinkle night cream for my mom. It's on sale in Walgreens. So this bottle was only 11 USD or so. I have oily t-zone so I really care about if the product is light enough, and out of my surprise,it is. It feels moisturizing and light, which is my favorite combination of moisturizers. Now I apply this after some lotion in the morning and apply foundation right after. I'm very happy with the quality and result. I also love the packaging which you can lock the cap so the lotion doesn't spill out. I want to go back to get some more while it's on sale.
Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15
bathgirl803 3/9/2009 6:38:00 AM
I just got it at ULTA few days ago coz they have Revlon face product BOGO sale. I am really really amazed by how well this foundation works. I'm an Asian girl with fair to meduim skintone, and I got the lightest shade. It turns out very natural on my skin. The coverage is okay, but I don't usually don't use concealer so coverage is not my biggest concern. The product feels very "fresh and clean" once it's blended on your skin. I have oily t-zone and it usually starts streaking two hours after I apply makeup. Skin Matching doesn't avoid me from streaking but it does prolong the time the makeup stays fresh on me. I'm really in love with this foundation. I might go back and get some more for backup.
Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
bathgirl803 3/9/2009 6:31:00 AM
This is my second tube of Nude Lustre. LOVE LOVE this lipgloss. It is so pretty and compliment almost any kind of makeup. It's a great everyday good-to-go lipgloss. In face I have it in my bag instead of my drawer. Will repurchase for no doubt.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Rascal #936
bathgirl803 3/7/2009 12:56:00 AM
I just got it today at ULTA for BOGO. I didn't read reviews first when I bought it. I've been wanting to get a gray color and I always like pink,so I thought Rascal was a nice combination. Now I just read many negative reviews about how sheer the pink color is, so I went ahead and tried it on the back of my hand. I'm an Asian girl with fair-medium skin, and the colors are shown as this in the picture I uploaded. Actually I'm not disappointed at all since I don't really like heavy makeup. The pink color is absolutely not peachy on my skin, just a bit sheer then I expected. The gray color definitely has a much better color-payoff and it's slightly bluish which is gorgeous. I still recommend this duo for those who are opt for a mild and sweet look. Texture of the powder is pretty nice and fine. Will need to update if it creases on my eye-lids after wearing it for a longer time. The packaging is okay. People complain about the mirror not being at the right place, but I guess it's the only way for customers to see the actual shades better. Will repurchase if I ever run out of this, which I doubt. It's hard to really use up any eyeshadow.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
bathgirl803 2/27/2009 7:39:00 AM
This is the first eye makeup base I use. I am very happy with the result: helps eye shadows stay longer, makes the colors more vibrant. It still creases after applying makeup for whole day in the summer. But overall this is an amazing product. The only complain is the packaging. It would be SO much better if it comes in a tube.
This is the first MAC blush I own.(Probably the first blush I owned) It's a very pale cool tone pink. I like how natural it is so I can wear it every day. I think they don't have this color anymore. Well-dressed or Pink Swoon would be better upgrades.
I super super LOVE this eyeshadow palette. It has eight colors in it including highlighting colors and base colors. And ALL of them are very wearable and useful because they are neutral and earthy colors. You can't go wrong with these colors. They also stay for a long time and doen't crease easily. Some people say the packaging is a bit bulky but I don't mind. There's a mirror on the bottom of the palette where you can pull it out. I like that design I really recommend this palette, esp. this particular Sand Castle shade. I remember it was 4.99USD and it's on sale quite often. Definitely a good buy.
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
bathgirl803 2/27/2009 1:37:00 AM
This is actually my first Burt's Bee lip balm. I got a travel kit and this lip balm came with the kit. It gives you a little tint of color and makes your lip look healthy. I like the smell of it,too. I like the texture of it. But I took one lippie off because it is certainly not the most moiturizing lip balm I've tried. It's good to have one in the purse when you go out, but at the same time would keep looking for more moisturizing lip balm. Would repurchase because I like the smell a lot and it's smooth to apply.
I heard that this is a very popular foundation before I visited the US, so I grabbed one in creamy ivory when it was on sale. Luckily the color matches my skin tone. I was very surprised at the smooth texture and how easy it was to apply. It gave me an effortless plastic doll complexion without looking too heavy on the foundation. My skin would look almost flawless(without applying any concealer). I would take "half" lippie off because I have combination type of skin and the T-zone would get oily easily. This foundation is very moist so it doesn't do a good job controlling the oil. But even after a few hours my face wouldn't look terrible with the foundation falling off. Just blot my T-area with oil absorbent paper and it would like nice again. Definitely gonna repurchase for its dirt cheap price and lovely result. I'm considering buying darker shade to apply in the contouring area.
I LOVE Mimmy. This is the kind of lipgloss I could wear every day. I am not a big fan of heavy makeup. I like the natural look Mimmy gives me. It is not too pale so you don't like sick. It is peachy pink with gold shimmer. Very pretty and everyday use color. Would repurchase if I don't find anything cheaper with the same result.
It is very sheer lipglass with a hint of purplish blue and blue pearl. I like it because it saves my cutester from being returned. It works very well on cutester. But applying it alone doesn't show the purple it's supposed to and would be washed out under light. I do like the texture of the lipglass. I find it not sticky and stays for a long time. Wouldn't purchase again because I like to try new stuff out. One tube would take me a really long time to finish it.
I got this brush set because of two reasons: 1. I want to try the legendary #187. 2. I like the brush holder of this HK series. And my two lippies are for the result of those two above. There are more disappointments in this brush set than satisfaction. That said, there is still some satisfaction. I really wanted to return it the night I got it. Because the quality of 109SE and 239SE are below my expectation. But as I said, I bought the set for trying out 187SE and the lovely brush holder. I used the 187SE to apply liquid foundation and I was pretty happy with the result. I also like how it works with highly pigmented blush. It brings out a natural look. I don't have anything similar to 239SE so it is useful for me. I do hope it's softer so I don't worry about hurting myself when using it. And 109SE is not the point of my purchase at all. But I do find it usable for highlighting in C areas. Besides I love the brush holder which can contain all my brushes and looks cute on my desk. So I kept this set instead of returning it. The SE brushes are great for travel but they don't work as well as regular ones.
Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner
bathgirl803 2/27/2009 12:36:00 AM
I bought this item out of pure surprise. I wanted to get HK lipsticks and blushes at first. But after trying the lip conditioner, I went back to the store to get that the next day. (Also because of the raves on MUA about this product.) I think Popster is a pretty coral pink color but it doesn't match my Asian yellow skin tone at all. And Pink Fish is a cool tone milky pink that can cover 90%of my original lip color. I LOVE the texture－soft and creamy. Not sticky or anything at all. I put on a little lipglass at the cherry tip and it looks even prettier. Would purchase again if I find any other colors that I like. The HK packaging makes the container a keeper!
I was interested in MAC HK lipsticks because of their cute package and irresistible Hello Kitty head on the lipstick. I asked to try this pretty color on the rack but the result wasn't stunning or anything. But I put on Mimmy lipglass and turned out really pretty. So I got both Cutester and Mimmy. Every time I put on Cutester I need to apply Mimmy or other lipgloss otherwise it would feel like I didn't put on anything. My lips are more pigmented and cutester doesn't cover the original lip color very well. I think there are a lot more lipsticks out there that are way better in vibrancy and price. If you really want to collect one of this HK lipsticks collection, maybe Strayin' would be a better color in the pink selection. Btw,this is my first MAC lipstick. And I probably got the least vibrant one. Lucky me!
