Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
rated 4 of 5

I really like this color. I am a NC25 and use it as an all over color for the day. It is sheer, but it's a nice touch of color. To spice it up a bit, I put MAC Mythology over it which gives it a nice glowy look as well!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mythology

I was at MAC and kept coming back to this color. I was scared at first because in the pan it looks really glittery, which I am not a fan of, but when applied it's a nice coppery color. I was somewhat skeptical but then the MAC MUA recommended it after I told her I was looking for a little bit of color and was tired of purple recommendations for green eyes (I told her this jokingly, but really, I get tired of purple recs). The color does compliment my green eyes and I can wear this as a more natural color or build it up. It looks really good over Naked Lunch! The MUA also recommended lining the lower lash line with it, but I find it tends to have a bit of fall out which is annoying, but it's not much. As a ref. I am NC25.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Mega Shine - La La
rated 5 of 5

I really like this gloss! I have been looking for a cute "summery" pink gloss...not too crazy, but not dull. After reading reviews, I decided to go to Ulta and pick up La La. When I got there I began to have second thoughts...in the tube it is REALLY bright pink. NYX products were BOGO so I figured what the heck. To my surprise it is a really pretty pink...I'm not sure how to explain it...it's just a really nice color and gives me a nice "glow" like many other reviews have mentioned. It also has a fruity scent that is nice as well. Don't be scared by the tube color - I recommend this gloss! For reference I am NC25.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
rated 3 of 5

I received a sample Erase Paste from Ulta and I thiiiiiiink I like it. Like many reviewers have commented, it does settle into lines under the eye, but after one swoosh over it with your finger, it seems to solve the problem for the rest of the day. I find that it does brighten the under eye area and conceals darkness rather well. I am in need of a new concealer and am really considering purchasing this but am still researching others. Will update if I decide to buy it!

Blush -MAC - The Perfect Cheek
rated 4 of 5

I really like this color because it is really light and buildable - I am NC25 for ref and it shows up as a nice natural light pink, not like "holy crap, that's PINK". It's also nice for me because I feel like I have a 'short face' (aka not long and slender) and most blush colors are too harsh and tend to kind of overwhelm and take over my face. Lately with all of the snow, I have been thinking 'springy' and have been pairing it with my NARS Laguna Bronzer and it looks really good as well.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light
rated 2 of 5
barook84 2/8/2010 12:54:00 AM

I purchased the Mineralize Skinfinish foundation and powder and I did not like either of them. When the MA at MAC put the product on at the store, I really liked it - my face appeared to look nice and smooth, so I strayed away from my Studio Fix and decided to give it a try...boo for that. It seemed to make my pores say HELLO I'M HERE - even with my primer on. Maybe it was crafty lighting at the store? Soooo I decided to switch it up and go back to my Studio Fix and still use the Mineralize Powder - NOPE...the powder still made my face look...well, powdery and just didn't sit on my face right. Needless to say, I'm going back to my Studio Fix products. Good luck on your powder journey.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
rated 4 of 5

I really like this mascara. It gives me volume and says put. I purchased 'brown' and it gives just enough color to make my eyes 'pop' (I am a green eyed brunette and I find that most black mascara makes me look kinda trashy). I would definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - Everything Mascara

My aunt received this as a sample and gave it to me. I hate to be a debbie downer, but I would never pay for this mascara. The only thing this mascara did was make my lashes look slightly longer, but this result is due to the fact that I have semi long lashes anyway and it just made them darker. You can get the same product with better results using drugstore brands while saving a lot of money.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Facial Lotion
rated 3 of 5

I was using Olay Complete, which I loved and then their formula changed which made my face red - I assumed it was the different formula because I had been using this for so long with no problems, so I resorted to finding a new moisturizer. I decided to try this one and the same thing happened...redness. I do have really sensitive skin, so I'm not sure what's going on...maybe it's my skin...maybe it's the formula? It did make my face really smooth, didn't break me out, and never felt greasy/oily. Minus the redness, it was a great moisturizer, just not for me. My search continues...

This has been my HG product, but I bought another bottle last week and I think they changed the product - it now has an odd smell and it made my face burn...I'm so sad :( Don't mess with a good thing!

Blush -Jane - Blushing Petal [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
barook84 8/2/2009 6:47:00 PM

Wow, I guess I am the devil's advocate on this one. This blush was waaaaaayyy too pink for me. Even when applied lightly the shade was just too much. I guess I wasn't out much though because you can't beat the price.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 4 of 5
barook84 6/18/2009 11:33:00 PM

I am still somewhat on the fence about this product - I like it, but for the price I'm just not sure it is worth it. It does make your lashes look nice, does not clump and is fast drying. It does end up flaking after having it for a while...and by while I don't mean like 10 years...a while as in less time than it should take for a mascara to get 'old'. Overall, it is a good mascara that does make your lashes look nice -but I'm not sure if it is nice enough for the price.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 2 of 5
barook84 6/18/2009 11:27:00 PM

Wow, there are a lot of great reviews for this product - apparently my lashes did not want to conform to the crowd. This 'scara made my lashes somewhat clumpy and unnatural looking....spidery if you will. I felt like a prostitute when I wore it - Not even close to full and soft.

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner-BIRTHDAY SUIT
rated 4 of 5
barook84 6/18/2009 11:23:00 PM

I usually wear this alone during the day for a more natural look - the staying power is great, it is creaseless (as it says), and it looks natural, yet gives you a little bit of 'umph'. My only complaints are: 1. the pot that it is in makes it a little difficult to get the shadow out because the consistency of the product is so soft - or maybe I'm just clumsy 2. it is a bit pricey - but its Benefit, so you get what you pay for (usually). Overall, I definitely recommend this product. I will be purchasing more colors.

Blush -MAC - sunbasque
rated 4 of 5
barook84 9/27/2008 12:12:00 PM

I really like this product; however, if you are fair skinned like me, remember: less is more! I suggest a soft sweep on the cheeks first and then build as you see fit. I have found that the color is very vibrant if you aren't careful (as most blushes are). Overall, it's a beautiful color and I would recommend.
