Mascara -Dejavu (Imju) - Fiberwig Lash Knockout
rated 2 of 5

monumental letdown. it just looks like $3 mascara. for coating the lashes in fiber "tubes," it's totally unimpressive compared to TooFaced Lash Injection which does the same thing. It's just ok, but after being hyped and costing $22, it seems like it sucks. at least the package was cute with nice copy ("Say, it's paint-on false lashes!"). i dunno. snoozefest.

Moisturizers -Korres - Pomegranate Balancing Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/24/2007 11:50:00 AM

i'm a sucker for anything natural, from the health-store brands that actually ARE natural to mainstream/high end brands that have some elements of natural. korress is definitely in the second category, but all of the products seem awesome so far. this moisturizer is really nice and light, yet still very effective. in the winter i like thick goopy moisturizer for fear of total winter dryout. but when the weather switches, i go with lighter ones and this is one of the best i've used. very pleasant scent, nice little bit of SPF (only 6), helpful in the hydrating department, and wierd/awesome euro-packaging to boot. the jar aspect is a little annoying (PUMPS, people! we want PUMPS!!) but overall, awesome.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection

awesome. maybe the HG mascara. lashes look HUGE with just a few swipes. it's brilliant. i like the "tube" removal too, because it makes me think i'm not losing lashes or hurting them like other mascaras that get brittle and break your lashes. seriously, one of the best.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/24/2007 11:40:00 AM

i love how when i started reading about diorshow, it was all love on this board. now it seems to be almost equal amounts of love & hate. anyhow, i got it as a gift am i am TOTALLY WOWED!! my HG for simple looks has always been a cheapy drugstore mascara (most recently, maybelline lash stylist). It's always pretty good. this is the SHIT though!! i applied for about a minute straight, and when i came out of the bathroom like 5 people said, "WHOA HEY LASHES!!!" from across the room. i think it's amazing, huge brush and all. i don't get too much curl from it, but length and volume totally. i have pretty long lashes without mascara so maybe thats part of it. but i think it's PHENOMENAL for the super fashionista look! work it, ladies!!

Treatments -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Treatment
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/24/2007 11:33:00 AM

i want to love aveda, but sometimes i'm a little lost in their world of products. last time i stopped by, i picked this little gem pu and thought, $28 eh?! but got it anyhow. i LOVE IT!!! i have thick, coarse hair with a natural kink/wave/curl, and i color it all the time and straighten it a lot. this treatment is a dream!! seriously, every time i use it i get compliments on my hair and home 'healthy' it looks. it's awesome. i have also used a bunch of other "high end" hair mask/treatments and this is for sure the most effective. forget fekkai, go aveda!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Pressed Powder Eyeshadow
rated 3 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:56:00 PM

oh how i love thee, NARS. howver, your eyeshadows need some work. the "night" series is AMAZING (black shows with pearl/glitter color bits) and is STILL BETTER than any others like them. however, some of the others leave something to be desired. the texture is often funky (powdery, hard to apply, hard to pack on to get color payoff), the color range is great but only in the package. on your eyes is a different story. i'm not opposed to trying to get something out of an eyeshadow, but dammit girls i dont have all night!! i must say in favor of NARS e/s that the packaging is space age looking/feeling but you can't de-pot or build a palette. i still love NARS and will still buy some shadows here and there but be warned!

Eye Shadow -Milani - All
rated 3 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:48:00 PM

everyone raves on milani like its the drugstore MAC. it ain't all that!! the color selection is limited, the packaging is cheap and tacky, and the pigment/payoff is good but not amazing. i guess compared to other d/s brands and for the price it's a deal but whatever. you can spend $4 and work on getting good color representation or you can buy used MAC online for $8 and feel/look like a pro. i mean, i don't hate milani but it's NOT AMAZING. its just OK.

Liquid -MAC - Select Tint SPF 15 ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:44:00 PM

seems expensive for what is basically a tinted moisturizer but one bottle lasts FOREVER!!! the color selection is good (some darker ones for my darker ladies would be nice) and the coverage is so natural, light, and non-greasy. it'll even out your skintone, make your face feel silky soft, and last pretty much all day with no touchups. it's my favorite!! my HG!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint - All
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:40:00 PM

seriously. if you want color payoff with your eyeshadows, go get some of this. its not very fun to apply from that tiny little 'paint tube' but once you get the hang of it (fingers work better than brushes for me) it's a godsend. also work quickly after applying your paint because once it 'sets' you'll have a rough time blending shadows. eyeshadow colors have never looked better, even with urban decay primer potion which everyone loves and IS great but not as color-enhancing as mac paints. the best in the (mid)west!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in clear
rated 5 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:35:00 PM

the secret to lipglass for me is PUT IT ON OVER SOMETHING! even if its just lip balm!!! it will help it stay and reduce to stickiness. before i did this i felt like the cryptkeeper from 'tales' from the crypt' with the goey corpse lips! but seriously, THE BEST SHINE of any gloss ever, including dior, nars, bobbi brown, whatever. it's SO GLOSSY! be a BOSS with this GLOSS!! hahaha.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stylist Mascara ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 10/6/2006 6:31:00 PM

ok so everyone says "its the drugstore version of DiorShow!!" and it kind of is. The 'patented' V-bristle comb is pretty crazy but a little layering and you DO LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE FAKE LASHES ON!! i combed out with the sonia kashuk metal eyelash comb inbetween coats which you must apply quickly! if you dont, you'll get the MEGA CLUMPED look. The biggest downer for me was it was hard to remove and the next day i had little black specs coming off and falling around my eyes ALL DAY LONG!!! i dont want that! nobody does! otherwise, a drugstore dream.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Rated R Duo
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/25/2006 10:11:00 PM

i love this color combo! it makes me feel like Pizazz of the Misfits (you who were cartoon watching children in the 80's will know what i mean). The limey green is a little bit more yellow than green/chartreuse when applied, but applying over a base helps solves that problem. The 'blue' side is so wild and cool and the pigment is intense! what a dream!! i blended it with a hard candy baby blue and some crappy l'oreal white and my eyes looked like the ocean! so sexy for that punked up nightlife look. anyhow, i am pretty obsessed with nars in general and this only solidifies it.

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
rated 5 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/25/2006 10:06:00 PM

along with lindsay lohan and tori spelling, i've succumb to being a lip plumping addict. lip injection is by far the best "gloss" lip plumping product and i have really tried them all. it feels really numbing at first, then a little bit burny/tingling. it's nice though, and you kind of become accustomed to it and when you put on regular gloss it seems bland. hahaha. anyhow, this stuff definitely plumps your pucker and makes you feel famous for about an hour. but who doesnt reapply lipgloss every hour so that's fine. overall, FABULOUS!!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Santorini [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
badluckwithboys 5/25/2006 10:02:00 PM

as everyone says, this looked like such a dream on my fingertip in sephora. it's way more subdued on the eye but a few applications or combinations can make it the sparly dream you want it to be. i used it over a mac purple base and with some mac pigment in fuscia and it looked like a sexy, royal dream. it's not the most intense NARS color i've gotten, but not worth the bad rap it seems to be getting on here. p.s., what's with sephora lately? they are some of the meanest SA's in town!
