Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation

I love this foundation! Normally when I try out a new foundation, my skin has a breakout reaction to it. However, I was amazed by how this foundation didn't break me out! The coverage is definitely light to full depending on the method you use to apply it. When I applied this foundation with my fingers, I barely got any coverage. But when I used my flat top Ecotools buffer brush to apply it, the foundation was medium to full coverage. I have some old acne scars that this foundation was able to cover. For reference, I have an oily T-zone and dry to normal cheeks so I believe I'm combination skin type. The foundation doesn't make me too oily but I do notice that after 13 hours of wear, oil was peeking through my T-zone. I do set it with the accompanying powder in Light/Pale. I'm the shade Vanilla in the foundation and I have yellow undertone. Definitely try this foundation if you have my skin type! I think the lightest shade may be too pink.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Buffing Brush
rated 5 of 5
babyyxpink 3/6/2013 4:22:00 PM

This is my HG brush when I apply liquid foundation! I use all types of foundations from sheere coverage to full coverage such as the Revlon Colorstay and Nearly Naked foundation. The bristles are soft and dense which gives you more of a full coverage rather than light. I wouldn't use it for powder though because it may appear a little cakey. Use the finishing brush (Also from Ecotools) to set your foundation and your skin will look flawless. As for washing, I've noticed some people have said it's hard to wash your foundation off. Try dish washer soap + olive oil combination then wash it again with baby shampoo. It really works. All the residue will be removed and your brush will be soft and clean to be ready to use again.

Eyeliner -New York Color - Eye Liner Pencil in 921A (Black)
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 11/25/2012 6:11:00 PM

This eyeliner has been around ever since I started wearing makeup in 8th grade. The price has also stayed the same but I think some reviewers are right. The formula may have changed but I think I actually like the new formula. It takes me two applications for the eyeliner to stay put on both my tightline and waterline as well. By that I mean I have to run it over about twice but I can't complain since the price is dirt cheap. It's very pigmented in my opinion and it doesn't even smudge on me at all. I usually leave my home around 11am in the morning and take off my makeup around 2am. I checked to see if the eyeliner was still on my waterline and tightline and what do ya know? It really stayed! I was very impressed because sometimes although my higher-end eyeliners does stay, they tend to smudge more. Sometimes they go on sale at my local Rite-aid or CVS for 40% off so it's less than a dollar. Definitely worth it. Buy two so you can keep one in your purse for on the go!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Angled Eyeliner brush
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 10/24/2012 3:16:00 PM

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews because this is such an inexpensive and affordable angled eyeliner brush. I've been looking for an eyeliner brush for so long but I didn't want to fork over a lot so I picked this up for $3 at Target. It's a little stiff but for me, that's good because I feel like I have more control when I apply my eyeliner. It also hasn't shed a bit or lost its form. It applies smoothly for me and after about 5-7 uses, you have to wash it or the eyeliner residues sticks on the brush making it hard to apply. Other than that, I have no complaints! I have the Elf powder brush too and it's amazing. Their studio line is the best. Don't opt for the $1 lines. Those suck and the bristles are so rough!

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Aqua Mineral Finishing Powder
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 7/6/2012 7:19:00 PM

I've tried many powders but let me tell you, this is definitely one of the best. I live in the East coast and around summer time, it can get REALLY hot around here. I usually start off with my primer, concealer, foundation, then powder. After that I'd apply a bit of bronzer or blush depending on how I feel that day. This powder has a tingly cooling effort once you apply that to your skin and it keeps me oil-free ALL day. I have combination/oily skin and usually without any products, I'll wake up with a very oily T-zone. However, I've noticed that if I were to apply this product in the morning and come home late at night, I'm still oil-free. It also sets my foundation and everything stays in place. It's a little on the expensive side I feel but if you look out for sales in your drugstore, the price isn't bad. I use my E.L.F powder brush rather than the brush that's provided because I feel it's a little too small for me.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 10/1/2011 10:16:00 PM

This is definitely my favorite heat protectant because of how light the product itself is. I feel and see a big difference in the way my hair is when I do and don't spray the product before I apply heat tools. As oppose to not using this product, my hair would be very dry and people can easily tell upon looking at my hair. If I use this product however, my hair looks much healthier though it does make my roots oilier. I tend to avoid that area now after trial and error but it does make the rest of my hair feel and look so much healthier as oppose to not having any products in my hair. I also love the packaging because the nozzle doesn't get clogged and the spray function is easy to use. Also, you get a lot of product for the price of about $3-$5 depending on the store you make your purchase at. I've been using the product for a while now and it is definitely something I know I will be repurchasing in the future.

Treatments -Zapzyt - 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Gel
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 9/28/2009 1:36:00 PM

I've tried several acne treatment gel products over the years from clerasil to neutrogena to clean and clear. Zapzyt knocks the wind out of them all! I'll apply the gel once I spot a zit forming and by the next morning, it'll be noticeably smaller and sometimes even disappear altogether. You do have to be cautious not to apply too much or it will start to dry out your skin. If this does happen, apply moisturizer and stop applying the gel for a day or two. Other than that, I definitely recommend this product to people who get those occasional acne :)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 9/28/2009 1:32:00 PM

This is definitely my HG foundation. I'm Asian with a yellow undertone and the first shade I tried was Sand Beige. Although it does have a slight yellow undertone, it was not yellow enough for me so I had to move down to the second lightest shade, Buff, which is more neutral/yellow. First of all, this foundation has amazing coverage! I apply moisturizer beforehand and then use a stippling brush to stipple the foundation on. I do have to go back to the areas where I have acne scars and cover them (with the foundation, not concealer) but other than that, it has great coverage. I find that this foundation is hard to remove.. I had to use a strong cleanser to remove it. Sometimes I'll have to go through 2-3 times of toner before the foundation is completely removed. If it is not completely removed, I do break out from it.. but only when I don't clean it off perfectly! Overall, I recommend this foundation for people who need a little extra coverage :) I usually wait for CVS or Rite=aid to have their BOGO sale :) The packaging or smell doesn't bother me as much as it does for other people.. i pour it out on my hand and it's always the right amount. It also stays on all day and doesn't even make me oily on my t-zone like my old foundation.!

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
rated 5 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 5:12:00 PM

This is the best drugstore moisturizer I have use! I have oily/combination skin and this product hydrates my skin without leaving it greasy. However, I would not apply it to the T zone if anyone has the same problem I do which is very greasy foreheads! That is the only area I exclude when I moisturize my skin.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Crazy Sleek Hot Smooth Iron & Blow Dry Lotion
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 5:06:00 PM

Before I used this product, I've never used any type of heat protection spray. I didn't know it was essential for people who use heat tools on their hair. So I picked this up at CVS when they had the Buy One Get One sale so it was around $7 for two bottles of this product. I've used this since August of 2008 and it is now almost May 2009. There is still about half a bottle left and I use this product almost every day! What I really don't like about this product is the nozzle. It does not give you the mist that most protection spray does. I like to spray the product in my hair and apply it to my hair when it is still wet. The direction says to apply the product, blow dry, and flat iron it but I let my hair air dry and then flat iron. The smell is a fruity smell.. It isn't the most pleasant smell but does not have the alcoholic smell either.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten Flat Iron Balm and Gloss Finish
rated 5 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 5:00:00 PM

Love this product! Bought it at CVS when they had the BOGO sale for got2b products. The packaging is quite cute. It comes in a slim, curved bottle and has a little charm on the side. The smell is pleasant and does not have that strong alcohol smell. I spray this onto my hair after I use their Heat Protect N' Blow Dry Spray. This is like an additional heat protection spray because I already have one in my hair from blow drying but still, this product makes my hair super shiny! Be careful not to spray TOO much though.. Your hair might end up greasy if you do that. I've noticed my hair has less fly aways. If I take the time to flat iron my hair properly, it's resistant to the humidity and rain.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Blow Out Lotion and Gloss Finish
rated 5 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 4:57:00 PM

I bought this product at CVS for $3 something when they had the got2b buy one get one sale. I love this blow dry spray! It has a nice, pleasant smell to it and does not have a strong alcohol smell. It also does not leave my hair feeling greasy compared to other products I've used. After I shower and wash my hair, I would apply some leave-in conditioner and spray this on before I blow dry my hair. It gives my hair a nice, shiny gloss compared to having nothing in my hair at all. Definitely recommended if you blow dry your hair!

Liquid -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 4:52:00 PM

when I bought this product, the Mineral Wear Concealer stick came with it. Anyway, on to the product. The texture is quite thick and when you first apply it, you might want to add a little moisturizer in there. I like to mix my moisturizer in with my foundation to give me a better and smoother application compared to just using the foundation alone. Also, it works great for concealing my under eye circles and I don't even need a separate concealer. One thing I've noticed is that the product does oxidize and by the end of the day, my skin looks darker. I don't have a problem with it especially in the summer but I thought I'd add that in there. This foundation comes with a built in sponge that is supposedly anti-microbial. I think the sponge is a little too hard so I rip it out and use my own foundation brush. (Ecotools) Overally, I will recommend this foundation for oily/combination to normal skin. For dry skin, I think this foundation will give you a cakier look. It tends to be thicker than most foundations but gives you a natural look.

Cleansers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Cream Cleanser Oil Free
rated 3 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 3:51:00 PM

I picked this item up at Walmart because it came in a two pack which to me, is a great deal. The texture is creamy and kind of thick but let me tell you, it does not work well. I wear foundation and this cleanser does NOT remove it at all! When I tone my face, I still have foundation residue on the cotton pad! If I didn't tone my face, I would probably break out from my makeup. It does moisturize my face compared to my other cleansers..I will give Garnier props for that feature. Will not buy again.. unless they come out with a better, stronger formula. This cleanser is perfect for those that do not wear face makeup.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
rated 4 of 5
babyyxpink 4/22/2009 3:46:00 PM

I absolutely love this product! It gives me nice coverage on its own without any foundation. All I put on is my moisturizer and apply this powder over it. My skin does not look like it has any makeup on at all! One thing I don't like is the brush.. it's a little stiff and doesn't work well for me. I recommend using your own powder brush. Also, this powder helps control the oil I have around my T-zone. I've noticed that I'm not as oily by the end of the day. Wait until drugstores have sales to get them because they are a little pricey for a drugstore product. CVS usually has the BOG1 50 off and 40% off. I actually bought this for less than $3 because it was on sale for 40% and I had the 5$ extra buck for any PF mineral wear powder.
