Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Sea Salt Body Scrub
babyschla 11/24/2012 9:10:00 AM
Are you looking for a scrubby scrub that leaves your skin a bit oily (so you don't hav to moisturise after)? Then this is for you! I love this scrub. I looked for a natural scrub for a long time that would work and leave me with some oils, and this is it! HG! Sloughs off dead skin and leaves you kissably soft with a nice citrusy tropical scent.

Fragrances -Parfums De Nicolai - Kiss Me Tender
babyschla 11/24/2012 9:04:00 AM
I love gourmande scents. This is a very unusual scent. Kind of vanilla and heliotrope with some gentle floral coming through. Not something I would normally buy. I tried it on in the nicolai shop in paris and left. It stayed really nicely on my skin and actually melted well into a very sophisticated and complex but easy blend. Love it. For those of you wishing to try something a little bit complex but still in the gourmande family.

Blush -Illamasqua - Cream - Rude
babyschla 11/24/2012 9:02:00 AM
I went into illasmasqua to have a look at Lover, but my partner came across this and asked me to try it on. It's a very natural pinky blushing colour that really blends in for a lovely creamy effect. I left with this instead and wouldn't get lover for a few more months. It's a great colour. Does not look the same on as it does in the box. Would not be without this little staple, for sure! Possibly my HG blush.

Blush -Illamasqua - Lover
babyschla 11/24/2012 9:00:00 AM
I'm NC35 with red (coloured) hair and some freckles. Lover is a warm apricot type powder blush. Which if anyone had suggest to me I would have though EW OLD LADY BLUSH ALERT, but actually it's gorgeous. It makes me look a bit more like a natural redhead and has something youthful and gentle about it. Like all illamasqua blushes, it comes in a black mac-esque package and is highly pigmented so you don't need much if you want a more natural look. LOVE THIS BLUSH!

Liquid -Illamasqua - Skin Base foundation
babyschla 11/24/2012 8:57:00 AM
I am NC35 with combination skin. As I get older, I've gone from wanting really MATTE make up to wanting really dewy youthful looking skin. I tried a lot of more natural products, but nothing really quite gave me that perfect, flawless HD finish that I wanted. Then I tried skin base (I'm no 9 in Skin Base). It's gorgeous! I use he laren luke foundation brush to buff it into my skin and the result is flawless and lasts all day. I love it!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
babyschla 11/24/2012 8:17:00 AM
I have been using the mint julep mask ever since puberty and acne hit when I was a teen. Acne has never fully gone away for me. This mask smells nice and gives a very pleasant tingling sensation when applied. However, it's comes in a HUGE tub that you constantly dip your hands in - I don't like that. I think it's unhygienic. Also, I don't really think it does that much for my skin except feel pleasant when wearing. It does some minor cleansing of the pores, but I do a much better job with my clarisonic. I'd say, this is a mask for when you really can't afford something else and need a little bit of a deeper clean than you get from cleaning with your hands alone. These days I use better products.

Deodorants -The Body Shop - DeoDry Dry-Effect Deodorant
babyschla 11/24/2012 8:12:00 AM
This review is for the stick NOT roll on in cool and zesty. The smell is nice and bright and quite unisex (my beau uses my deodorant so this is a plus). I found that this didn't relly do very much for me in terms of keeping bacteria at bay, so I smelled quite quickly if I sweat at all. Hopefully, if you're trying aluminium free deodorants (no aluminium = you will sweat as nothing is blocking your pores), you've realised you have a detox period of about 2 weeks where all your blocked pores unleash some pretty bad sweaty stuff, but then you calm down and sweat a more normal amount and much thinner sweat (I found when I first "detoxed off deodorant my sweat was quite thick). Anyhow, once youre past this bit you can safely jude the efficacy of your new deodorant experiences. I haven't found anything that works well yet. And this certainly doesn't. I smell quite quickly and this really doesn't seem to do anything deodorising at all - other than smell nice right when you put it on.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
babyschla 11/24/2012 8:01:00 AM
This is my favourite primer so far. I got it free with a magazine (a trial size) and have since sourced other trial sizes (I really like the convenience of the trial size in my make up bag). I wish I could say this was chemical free and great for you, but it's not. It's chocked full of chemicals. But I only wear it on a fancy night out under my Illamasqua skin base (I'm NC35 in Mac), so I'm hoping I am not doing too much damage. This goes on smooth and creates a nice even palate. Very helpful with my combination skin and enlarged pores. Ingredients: WATER (AQUA), OCTYLDODECANOL, GLYCERIN, CETYL DIMETHICONE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, TAPIOCA STARCH, POTASSIUM CETYL PHOSPHATE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), PHENOXYETHANOL, SESAMUM INDICUM (SESAME) SEED OIL, TRIBEHENIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, MICA, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, CETYL ALCOHOL, POLYACRYLATE-13, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) SEED EXTRACT, CARBOMER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PEG-100 STEARATE, POLYISOBUTENE, BENZOPHENONE-4, SORBIC ACID, LENTINUS EDODES EXTRACT, BHT, DISODIUM EDTA, IRON OXIDES (CI77492), FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), ANTHEMIS NOBILIS FLOWER EXTRACT, RUBUS IDAEUS (RASPBERRY) FRUIT EXTRACT, POLYSORBATE 20, SODIUM METHYLPARABEN, AMINOMETHYL PROPANOL, CHONDRUS CRISPUS (CARRAGEENAN), SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE, TIN OXIDE, SODIUM PROPYLPARABEN, SODIUM ETHYLPARABEN, ALUMINA, METHYLPARABEN, LINALOOL, SILICA, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, BUTYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, CHLORPHENESIN, RED 33 (CI17200), POLYQUATERNIUM-7, CITRIC ACID, ISOBUTYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE. Masks -MyChelle - Fruit Fiesta Peel
babyschla 11/24/2012 7:56:00 AM
HG HG HG HG HG HG HG HG! I have combination skin with big ole pores on my nose/checks and chin. This is VERY good for brightening the face and sloughing off a few layers. I know its CRAZY expensive for a tiny looking container of what looks like raspberry jam. BUT you don't use much at all. I bought mine 3 months ago and use it religiously 1-3 times a week and I still have product left (although it is hard to tell how much with the packaging). I use it after lush's brazened honey for a deep and stingy as possible (It is quite strong and does sting when you put it on, you are only meant to have it on for 3 minutes) mask, and then take it off and immediately see the difference. I love this product.

Masks -LUSH - Brazened Honey face mask
babyschla 11/24/2012 7:43:00 AM
I love this mask. I NEVER don't have it in my fridge. I tired all the lush masks (I especially wanted the cupcake one to work cos it smells so nice and is supposed to be for oily skin) and stumbled upon this one. It was before I knew what skin "brightening" meant or that someone young with oily skin might need this. But I LOVE this product. I put it on and leave it to dry and then give my nose and chin a bit of a scrub before rinsing it off. AND I LOVE the results. Would recommend to anyone with large or clogged pores. It's quite strong so would probably not recommend to those with sensitive skin or rosacea.

Lotions/ Creams -John Masters - Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Milk
babyschla 11/24/2012 7:39:00 AM
I hesitated when buying this product as it is £18 in the UK. But I kept going back to wholefoods and sniffing it and sniffing it. As other reviewers have said, it's a very light body milk rather than a thick heavy cream, so it probably wouldn't suit those of you with very dry skin. It's a beautiful rich vanilla scent with a lovely bright orang bursting through. I adore the scent. I wear a lot of gourmande fragrances so it layers really well with these to create an nice impact. I find the smell lasts long enough and as I'm not too dry, I like the light milk.

Cleansers -LUSH - Let the Good Times Roll
babyschla 11/24/2012 7:35:00 AM
I really like to use chemical free (where possible) and definitely SLS and paraben free facecare. However, I have huge pores and sometimes very dull skin so it's hard to find things strong enough to do the work without the chemicals. I like how the stuff at Lush smells, although there are still lingering parabens, etc. The only cleanser of theirs I used previously is Angels on Bare Skin, which I like. However, this has just landed in LUSH! And it smells DIVINE (I like a gourmande scent, me). Like salted buttery caramel. And it's much more scrubby with better granules for busting dirt and oil, but not too harsh. It also leaves your skin feeling quite soft. I love it and hope they continue it. Quantitative Ingredients Maize flour, Glycerine, Talc, Water, Corn oil, Polenta, Fair Trade Organic Cinnamon Powder, Perfume, Gardenia Extract, Popcorn *occurs naturally in essential oils

Lotions/ Creams -J. R. Watkins - Vanilla Lotion
babyschla 8/9/2012 3:14:00 PM
This lotion smells lovely, as someone else said - a nice underplayed vanilla. The lotion is quite thick and doesn't sink in easily, but then again massaging your thighs is probably a good thing for reducing cellulite. It doesn't take AAAGES, its just not as easy as most conventional non-natural lotions. It isn't perfect, but its a good alternative to the normal crap you buy before you realise what you're putting in your body.

Liquid -Bourjois - Bio Detox Organic Foundation
babyschla 2/15/2012 2:15:00 PM
I am so surprised by all the terrible reviews of this product on here. I am a bit of a make up novice and I find this foundation really easy to use. I'm NC35 with olivey undertones and I've been wearing vanilla (which I think is a bit on the light side for my complexion, but I generally only wear fuller coverage foundation in the evening to go out). I am really happy with the coverage, really makes my skin look lovely and reduces the need for concealer dramatically. I also love that it doesn't have have parabens, as I'm trying really hard to eliminate them from my make up as much as possible.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Brush - short handle
babyschla 2/15/2012 2:05:00 PM
I use this brush daily to put on my moisturiser and then follow up with putting on my foundation. I find it very pleasant and easy to use (I have the longer handled one, which is only a couple inches longer, so not hugely long) and it makes quick non streaky work of my tinted moisturiser and bourjois bio detox foundation.
