Fragrances -Hugo Boss - Boss Nuit Pour Femme

Actually I got it with a really nice discount from the local Dutch Sephora store (no more Sephora in the Netherlands, therefore the discount since they were leaving). It's really generic. Night scent? Not really. It's fresh and it will be perfect for spring or summer. Nice clean scent. Not sure if it is worth the actual price. I wouldn't have gotten it without the discount, even though I quite like it. There is just nothing special about it.

Powder -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Transparent 001
rated 2 of 5
babykitten9 5/10/2013 7:34:00 PM

It does what it is supposed to, which is keeping me matte, but only for half an hour or so. If I apply some more later on it turns me into a cake city. Even a light dusting is enough for that. I either have to get a lighter hand, a less dense brush or stop trying to make this powder work for my very oily skin. The packaging is also not great. I don't expect anything special from products from this price range but trying to put the cap on the powder properly takes quite an effort. It also falls off easily if you don't do it properly and you don't want that to happen if powder is in your handbag. The powder is not that bad but if just not anything for me. Perhaps girls with less oily/normal skin might like it better.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume Waterproof
rated 2 of 5
babykitten9 5/10/2013 7:20:00 PM

I actually wanted to try the regular non-waterproof version but I got this one :( We don't have Cover girl here in the Netherlands so I had to ask a friend to buy it for me in the US. Male friend, so of course he got the wrong one :) Anyway, it doesn't work for me. My lashes are short and I am looking for length and volume but this mascara doesn't give me any of that. Even with my Dior lash primer which I use to give my pitiful lashes some boost. I get spiky short though defined lashes. And of course I had to invest into a remover that can remove it, since I normally don't use waterproof mascaras. Really sad that it didn't work for me :(

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rated 4 of 5
babykitten9 5/10/2013 7:06:00 PM

High impact? Well, no, not quite. My lashes are quite short to start with, so if I use this mascara on its own it leaves me with natural looking (short!) lashes. But! If i use my Dior lash primer first it is a complete different story. I get nice voluminous, long, clump-free lashes. Mind you, not all mascaras do that with this primer, so I really think this one is outstanding for me :) I will be re-purchasing!

Liquid -Rimmel - Stay Matte Foundation
rated 1 of 5
babykitten9 5/10/2013 6:49:00 PM

On my skin it is a disaster! Point! First of all it is not really easy to spread on the skin (sorry, I am spoiled by good foundations). Second of all it just melts of the oily parts of my face (in other words - major part of my face) in no time. Oil control? Are you kidding me??? By noon I am left with nothing but shiny oily foundation free face. Sorry, ladies, I think it's horrible. It might work better for someone with less oily skin but then again this product is meant for people with oily skin, isn't it? Shade 100 ivory is pretty good and looks quite natural on my pale face. It's light to medium coverage. Can't think of any other good things about it. It goes straight into the trash bin.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Olive Body Butter
rated 5 of 5

Nicely moisturizing, though smells nothing like olives but it does smell amazingly fresh and spring like. I wish they could change the packaging to make it more hygienic (something with a pump perhaps?).

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Pure Seduction
rated 4 of 5
babykitten9 2/25/2013 6:54:00 PM

Love, love, love! Probably not really a scent for 35+ but I just love it! It smells like those sour-sweet candies to me, which I absolutely adore and try to stay away from (anything that tastes great is never good for you, isn't it?) :) I like using the spray on my hair a lot because the scent is not a staying one but it does stay a bit longer on the hair without being overpowering. I use it mostly during the weekend (especially in combination with the same range of the shower gel). It just makes me feel good! It costs something like 12 euro here in the Netherlands and I have been using it for a month or so every now and then and the bottle is still like 90% full.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - The Skincare Eye Moisture Recharge
rated 4 of 5
babykitten9 11/9/2012 7:14:00 PM

I'll start by saying that I bought it at 50% off the price, so I really can't complain about it (the price, that is). I was a bit worried that it contained alcohol but so far I haven't had any issues with that (my under eye skin area is dry). I have been using it for the past 4 months daily (twice a day during warmer months when my skin wasn't as dry as it is now when it is cold). It does moisturize well despite the alcohol content and it behaves well when I do my make-up. I might re-purchase it next year when this one is finished (nearly there). Now I am back to my other Shiseido favorite - super eye contour :)

Masks -Estee Lauder - Sparkling clean purifying exfoliator mask
rated 1 of 5
babykitten9 10/20/2012 6:16:00 PM

This is supposed to be 2 in 1. Mask+scrub. It can be applied as a regular mud mask and it also has the exfoliating particles to it, so can be used as a scrub. So it is supposed to do a really good job at cleansing and exfoliating, isn't it? Unfortunately it doesn't work for me neither as a mask, nor as a scrub. Reason is that it leaves an unpleasant film on my face so I really have to wash it with my facial gel afterwards, which does remove the film but it also dries out my skin (and it is oily), which in its turn leads to flaking. I have been desperately trying to make it work for the past year to no avail. Even if I use it once a week, I end up with flaking, blackheads, clogged pores and rather bad breakouts (and this mask is the culprit). It is going to end up in my rubbish bin tonight.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 5 of 5
babykitten9 10/20/2012 5:47:00 PM

I have just ordered a new bottle, so, yes, I would re-purchase and have done so already. You can find really good deals on ebay, so no complaints about the price. I have been using it for the past 6 months and a) no break-out b) it doesn't accentuate the dry spots on my face - especially around my brows, nose and mouth, though it does somewhat dry out the dry areas throughout the day but doesn't accentuate these areas as much as the regular foundation does. This BB cream has a light-medium coverage (you can build it up) and you can apply as much as you like without creating a cake city :) You will need a concealer if you have some serious imperfections but it does cover up the minor ones. I started using it when it was warm, so I learned that it will look best if I apply it without any moisturizer underneath (my skin is super oily during the warmer months). Amazingly it doesn't cling to the flakes on the skin. During the colder months I do use my EL ANR underneath+ Clinique moisture surge aroung my mouth (my driest area) and it works like a charm. It does not do anything in the direction of mattifying my skin (nothing possibly can - it's just too oily!) but it also doesn't make it more oily. If I do need some better coverage (looking for picture perfect skin) I add a light dusting of my Laura Mercier foundation powder. The shade is perfect as I am pale. I have tried to use it on my mother who is a couple of shades darker than me and she looked like a ghost. So, darker skinned girls watch out! It's not the best BB cream for you. The packaging is fine and the bottle is cute, but when there was nothing coming out of the pump anymore I decided to open the bottle and discovered that there was still plenty of the cream inside (enough for at least a couple of weeks!). PS this is not my first BB cream. I will add my (not quite positive) reviews on a couple of Missha bb creams (perfect cover and signature) later on.

Cleansers -Shiseido - "Perfect Whip" Foam
rated 1 of 5
babykitten9 7/28/2012 5:23:00 PM

First of all I will start by saying that it will last you a long long long long long time. A little goes a long way. It lathers like crazy and you really need a tiny bit of the product for that! That's the only good thing I have noticed. I have been using it for the past 3 months. I have tried using it in AM, then PM to remove the make-up, PM after make-up has been removed etc. It doesn't remove my make-up well, it's too drying for my oily skin (unbelievable!), it leaves a very annoying film on my skin, which makes me feel like I haven't washed my face properly. Unfortunately I haven't managed to make it work for me despite my numerous attempts. It's not even half-finished but I am binning it.

Top/Base Coats -Chanel - Extreme Shine
rated 1 of 5
babykitten9 6/22/2012 3:36:00 PM

This is a disaster in a bottle. I love Chanel nail polishes but this top coat is plain horrible. It applies easily and evenly but I have a feeling that it is just not capable of drying completely. Regardless of how long I wait (2 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours etc) it just gives me this weird feeling that it is never completely dry. Why? You can see my every single move on the nails with this top coat - scratches, bed sheets, finger prints (no, I don't ever touch my nails within the first couple of hours) etc. I have tried it with several different nail polish brands to no avail. I have seen a few good reviews and perhaps I got mine from a bad batch or something. But nonetheless it's awful even on its own and I have just binned it.

Eye Primer -Unlisted Brand - BeYu eye base
rated 5 of 5
babykitten9 4/21/2012 7:20:00 PM

I got it as a sample and I would say it's a mix of the Two faced shadow insurance and UDPP, which is a lovely combination. It's very easy to spread it over the eye area and it keeps your eyeshadows in place. It doesn't provide any additional color-coverage, it's really just an eyeshadow base. And a really good one for the price! If you can get it go and do so because it's great!

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 1 of 5
babykitten9 4/14/2012 6:24:00 PM

I just can't understand how people can like it. In my case it provides 0 coverage, 0 staying power, 0 oil control, but it does cause quite a few clogged pores, pimples, oily face and disappearing make-up before it's lunch time. I can't help but compare it to my Missha signature bb-cream and I strongly recomend it over the Garnier one. Garnier's version has nothing to do with real bb-creams.

Lipstick -Lancome - L'Absolu Rouge Nu 1141 Sweet Marmalade
rated 3 of 5
babykitten9 4/14/2012 6:15:00 PM

Looks quite scary in the tube - bright orange. But it's nothing like that on my lips. More like a soft pink-peachy shade. It has a moist finish to it but there are no glitters etc in this lipstick. It does feel quite moisturising when you first put it on but it dries out my lips horribly throughout the day as I do need to re-apply frequently (every other hour). I do need a lip balm underneath with this lipstick, otherwise I am going to end up with chopped lips. I am not going to buy it again, though the packaging is very cute and the color is oh so pretty.
