Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin

So many love this product and I am definitely one of them. It is very long-lasting, has a matte finish, keeps my t-zone oil free for a good amount of time, and also makes my skin look flawless by covering up majority of active pimples and my hyper pigmentation from previous breakouts. It is oil-free and has never broken me out which is a big factor for me in foundation as I have oily/acne-prone skin. One let down though is the colour selection of Colorstay has always disappointed me. Golden Beige suits me at my lightest (NC30) and is said to be the most yellow-toned out of all the shades so I stopped using this because of that reason. Recently in Australia they brought out a new version of Revlon's Colorstay that has a new 'time-release' formula finally with a pump! I had read reviews that it was easier to blend and had more yellow to their shades so I matched myself in store to 'Natural Tan' in the Combination/Oily formula, which is neutral leaning towards yellow so its my best match when my skin tone is normal to tan (NC35-37). I have repurchased this many times in the past, but I now prefer the new formula/packaging (which is still very similar IMO) much better because the shade suits me a lot better. I would recommend this if your looking for a full coverage/ long lasting foundation or if you have trouble with foundation lasting on your oily t-zone!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush
rated 4 of 5

I love what the brand EcoTools stand for so that's what attracted me to their brushes instead of Manicare etc. at Priceline. This is a fairly small angled brush and having had this brush for a few years now, it has never shed and it works well at applying brow powder & doing gel-liner. Highly recommend!

I love what the brand EcoTools stand for so that's what attracted me to their brushes instead of Manicare etc. at Priceline. Very affordable brush line & this is a decent basic foundation brush. Hasn't ever shed for all the years I've had this, but just gets less priority now as I favor my Sigma Kabuki brushes :) Recommend this for a basic foundation brush that's affordable!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Guess Seductive
rated 3 of 5

Definitely a deep musky scent. Very different to what I usually go for myself but its great to spray this on after another perfume to give it a deeper, more sophisticated smell. Beautiful bottle design & last fairly well considering its an EDT.

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Anti dark circle roller
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:18:00 PM

Light-medium coverage concealer. Essentially it just brightens up my undereye area as I have hereditary dark circles. Great packaging design, lasts well, doesn't irritate my skin & gives a great 'cooling' effect once applied from the rollerball.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Special Cleansing Gel
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:16:00 PM

I have oily/acne-prone/sensitive skin but it is also dehydrated, so its always been really hard for me to find the right skincare. After using a sample sachet of this cleanser, I was immediately impressed and I knew I had to buy it. I had been using Artistry's Balancing Cleanser for over 3 years which worked well because it was gentle but did nothing special for my skin otherwise. Special Cleansing Gel is a clear gel that foams up with water. I wet my face and put a pea-sized amount into wet hands and turn it into a foamy lather, then I apply it to my face in circular motions for a minute to get a good clean and rinse off with water. My skin is left feeling really clean but not tight whatsoever, my skin feels hydrated which is what I love about it compared to anything I've tried before. It really does have that 'cooling' effect, which helps the redness from my breakouts settle down. It has a very natural scent to it, a slight bit of lavender and something else I cant put my finger on but its a very pleasant scent which doesn't really appeal to me but doesn't turn me off either. I bought it in 500ml, which comes with a pump that makes it really easy to dispense the perfect amount of product. Dermalogica is an expensive brand but for the price of their large bottles you really get a lot that will last 1 year+. So far with continued use my skin has really turned around from what it was and is finally looking more calm and clearer! Really happy I got the chance to sample this product as I've found a great cleanser for my skin type.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Active Moist
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:16:00 PM

When they say light-weight they really do mean that! Active Moist is a white cream moisturiser that would be suited to oily & combination skin. It spreads very easily so you only need the smallest amount. I have oily/acne-prone/sensitive skin but it is also dehydrated and this is my perfect moisturiser for my complicated skin type. It goes on really lightly leaving my skin feeling hydrated but not greasy at all, its the perfect in between. I have trouble finding moisturisers that don't break me out and this has been the first I've found not to do that which really impressed me. It actually leaves my skin very calm and settles down the redness from my breakouts. The packaging is the one bad thing I can say about Active Moist though. It comes in a squeeze tube with a spin-off lid. I don't really like the packaging because I find it wastes a lot of product since its not very firm. Overall, a great moisturiser for my skin type as its rare to find ones that don't break me out.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Stain Balm- Sweetheart
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:14:00 PM

'Sweetheart' is a gorgeous bright hot pink. Its perfect for a bold lip that doesn't need much maintenance but looks more natural opposed to a lipstick. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain's come in crayon-like packaging, no need for sharpening as the product has a wind up mechanisim. They smell very strongly of mint which I personally loooove & they apply very easily. Can be applied sheer but they do develop themselves to become brighter not too long after. They aren't the most moisturising nor are they extremely drying so I would say you can definitely feel you have something on your lips but its not uncomfortable at all for me. They last extremely well! It lasts for 5+ hours before needing to reapply for more opacity but they do leave a light colour on your lips which is great. If you immediately eat or drink after application though, colour will come off. The stain needs to develop and actually 'stain' the lips for a while, so if I do that, after eating or drinking the colour will still be about 80% there which I was impressed with. Overall the lip stains are a great lip product for someone who hates touching up. There is also a pretty good shade range to choose from. Highly recommend!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Cherish
rated 3 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:12:00 PM

'Cherish' is a deceivingly bright blue-toned pink. I don't think this colour suits me at all so its not one I would repurchase. Overall the lip stains are a great lip product for someone who hates touching up. There is also a pretty good shade range to choose from. Unfortunately I don't like this shade, but I do recommend other shades from the line!

rated 4 of 5

'Honey' is the perfect my lips but better colour for me. A warm mauve-pink. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain's come in crayon-like packaging, no need for sharpening as the product has a wind up mechanisim. Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:06:00 PM

This is a no-fuss, easy to use & affordable heat protectant. The spray is very fine unlike others I've tried, it distributes the product evenly and doesn't drench my hair which is great! Smells nice and works efficiently. Good product from TreSemme!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Fantasy Britney spears
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 10:03:00 PM

I felt reluctant to test this in store for many years but it was featured in a magazine article to be a top pick from guys they interviewed. It got me thinking what was so special about it, so I went to investigate Fantasy in Priceline. After spraying it the rush of chocolatey-sweet goodness hit me and now I see what they were talking about. I'm hooked! I can't believe I love it as much as I do. Its very strong, lasting power is great and it has good sillage. My boyfriend loves the scent and so does my 47 year old Mum who I have caught pinching my bottle as well so entirely up to the person whether they like such a sweet smell or not. Very pretty bottle as well!

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 9:46:00 PM

It took me a few goes to get the hang of using this but now its fast become an important part of my skincare routine. It's a white powder that you mix with a bit of water to use as an exfoliant. Only a small amount is needed and I rub it in circles all over my face and neck to exfoliate, then leave it on for under a minute and rinse off. After use, it leaves my skin feeling baby soft and removes any dry patches. I like how its effective but doesn't feel harsh on my acne-prone skin. Overall, a really great product so I'm happy I bought this in full size and I will continue to repurchase this product from Dermalogica.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - PreCleanse
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 9:36:00 PM

I've never used a facial oil to remove my make-up before, I usually just wipe the majority off with a make-up wipe prior to cleansing or double cleansing so this was new for me. At first the strong smell put me off and it did take some getting used to. I apply a small amount over my makeup/dry skin and work it all over my face, then I wet my hands and rub in circular motions which makes a light lather which you then rinse off. It surprised me how well it works at removing makeup, it just breaks it all down so that when I go in with my cleanser its actually cleaning my skin. It doesn't remove my waterproof eye makeup completely though, I needed to go in with my eye makeup remover. Undecided if I would repurchase this because of the price when MAC's Cleanse Off Oil is around $20 cheaper, but I did enjoy using this.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 5/19/2013 8:43:00 PM

I have this in the shade 'Cutting Edge', which is a deep berry-plum shade, perfect for that vampy look in Winter. Rimmel's range of lasting finish lipsticks all smell like chai latte to me which is awesome too! Highly recommend these as they're affordable and have great pigmentation & lasting power.
