I think that this foundation formula is hit or miss in terms of coverage and overall satisfaction. I do believe that it will NOT break you out so it definitely has that going for it. I tried it in several colors and couldn't find a match so my review is more formula based. It does seem like it kind of sits there and doesn't look totally natural but it will even out skin tone. I am newish to minerals so my technique is probably off. I like Alima as a company and want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think that the zinc oxide actually helped my skin a lot in the beginning then the weather changed and I started to get very dry (I live in Southern California). So I wholeheartedly recommend this to someone struggling with acne because it might help your skin while giving it a modicum of coverage. I am really wanting to love this foundation but the samples are kind of expensive 1.50 for a smaller amount than what EDM gives for free. And the double edged sword of having soo many colors to choose from does honestly make initial color selection a pain (plus the aforementioned expense). I've ordered from them twice and the shipping is exquisitely fast and things arrive beautifully packaged. My recommendation is that if you're feeling a little flush to first start with Alima and then move on to EDM once you are a little more broke.
Eye Shadow -Alima - Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Glow

This is a beautiful color and as everyone has mentioned it makes a great brow bone highlighter. I too have used it on the inner corners of my eye to good effect. I can't quite decide if I want to spend the money on it for a full size (I haven't finished with the sample I bought) because I hate to pay for shipping (I'm a bit of a cheapie when it comes to S+H). However I've been using it everyday and it's becoming something of a staple. Does anyone know if EDM makes a color that is very similar?
Okay this is one of those products that I have multiple containers of just because of the what if factor. Because Carmex will stop my cold sores from forming IF I catch it in time. For those of you who have this problem you know that feeling you get when you are about to get a cold sore? Well if I put it on then at that time it won't form. I don't use this as an everyday moisturizer for my lips because it does tend to leave me with that paralytic feeling and when it goes in my mouth I really don't like it but it totally works for my purposes and it is way cheaper than Abreva.
I believe that Wombat did a really good job with the pictures, very accurate. the color as stated before is a kind of flat pepto-ish pink (but lighter), I thought it was a bit boring, but to each her own. one coat goes on very sheer and the second one starts to look better. I found that one coat was very uneven and I had to apply a second coat.
Oooh did this look ugly on my hands! However it looks really cute on my toes. The color is a hot pink that seems to have just a touch of mauveiness in it. It went on smoothly, two coats did the trick. I probably won't wear this too often but like I said it does look cute on the tootsies.
I agree about the color being bright and maybe not an everyday color for some but it looked really good on my hands and seems like it'll look nice with the spring and summer colors in my wardrobe. It goes on very easily and lasts fine if I apply my topcoat (like any other polish). In short I can see myself wearing this regularly for the next few months.
Lip Treatments -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Lip Enhancer

I do like this stuff but it's too expensive for basically a clear, unscented chapstick. I thought I noticed some plumping, coloring effects but I think that it may have been wishful thinking, still it is the only chapstick-like product that I fully used up. It left my lips feeling smooth and soft.
I think I may have found the perfect cleanser. I am so surprised to say that it is a bar of soap. It is a little drying but nothing bothersome but the best thing is that it seems to have almost cleared up my acne (I hope I'm not jinxing myself). For a while I was using the Aveeno cleanser for sensitve skin but while not creating acne it didn't get rid of it either. Oh my gosh I almost forgot the best thing. My skin used to turn RED when I would wash it (no matter if it or I was "gentle" or not) but this cleansing bar totally calms it down. I do not get red at all anymore. Even when I rub my face fairly hard with my hands (I don't use a washcloth anymore.) my face looks like I just woke up. A definite great buy. It was $3.42 at Target and lasts over a month.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I must say that it is pretty darn good for $5. I bought the light 4 which I think was a shade too dark but they were out of number 3, however it is pretty forgiving on me and it made me look a little healthier. I am acne prone and it did not break me out. The coverage was more on the sheer side which is nice sometimes. I have some little dry spots (from old acne) and it doesn't seem to stick to them.
i just bought this and I hate it! The only good thing about it is the SPF. It smells like some cheap fruit and there is little shine, it's just like any other tube of chapstick.
Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser

I love this cleanser. I've been using it for about a month now and it has totally reduced my acne (i'm not completely clear yet but i have hope). I had been suffering from severe inflammation for about a year. I was trying all sorts of OTC acne products but nothing was working. I think this product will be good for those who know that their skin is sensitive and are having no luck with traditional acne products. I will definitely be repurchasing. EDIT: I did use this for a while but it never got rid of my acne and my face was always very red. I've switched to the Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar which is working much better.
Foundations -Philosophy - the supernatural airbrush canvas

I don't want to over-rave about this product, but so far it's the best foundation that I have found. I get beautiful natural looking coverage without having to take a lot of time during the application. The application is surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. I bought this in natural and thankfully it works for me. The other color is bronze which is a really beautiful darker brown color that looks like it would work on medium toned African-Americans or darker Latinas and Asians. I know that these two colors are not enough, it will not work for everyone, so try before you buy if you can. I tried the natural on my mother and she looked kind of gray and like a corpse and on her it looked really powdery, on myself I don't get that effect at all. I have wanted a mineral makeup for such a long time that I was thinking about buying Bare Escentuals off QVC but thankfully I didn't and I went into Sephora where they carry that line now and was able to discover that their minerals are very glittery which ends up looking fake. The Supernatural is not. I've been able to use this as a concealer for my dark undereye circles (and my red lines around my nose) and it works for that too, just practice the application a couple of times.
this mascara is okay, it makes my lashes look pretty natural but the extra wet formula takes a long time to dry and I lose the curl that i just put in (I really hate that). It doesn't do too much to make my lashes look long. I have it in the brown color which doesn't make my lashes look fake.
Concealers -Christian Dior - Hydrating Concealer [DISCONTINUED]

I've had troubles with concealers in the past (as they don't usually conceal anything) but I bought this concealer recently and I was impressed with how much better it made me look. It covered my dark undereye circles beautifully and it does a good job of hiding my broken capillaries around my nose. When I first tried it on at the makeup counter I wasn't sure if I would be satisfied under the flourescent lights. It seemed like it had made my circles look gray, but when I put it on at home it didn't do that at all. I have it in shade 410 which is a pale beige according to the box. It was $22.50USD so it was a tad expensive. the sales associate said it would last 2 years though.
I am brand new to the world of bronzers and I decided to give this a try. It has three colors that you are supposed to swipe with your brush to pick up that golden color. I am fairly pale and I like to use this to give me a just sunkissed look, not as an all-over bronzer. People have been telling me that I look healthier. It's a tad expensive, $30.50 at Nordstrom, but you get 9.3 grams. And because of the three colors (a goldy peach, a rose and a brown) you can sort of customize how much of each you want to use.
