BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
rated 2 of 5

After finding Garnier's BB cream too hydrating, I decided to give Loreal a try. Since I have fair skin, I decided to try the fair. Not only does it make my skin too pale, it dries it out so badly, I ended up having to blend it with the Garnier to get some moisture. I am taking this back to CVS, pronto.

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick

There is no way on God's green earth, that I would buy this stuff again. It felt like a combination of superglue, jelly and alcohol. My lips were sticky, clumpy and dry. No amount of balm or gloss worked. Of course, I threw my reciept away. This sucks.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
rated 2 of 5

This stuff is just an overpriced, glorified magic marker. While the color is really nice, it goes on uneven and splotchy, even if I exfoliate before and the balm broke after my third use. It really looked like I had colored my lips with a marker. I also noticed that in about 5 uses, it started drying out. I put it in a drawer for another two weeks and forgot about it. This morning, I saw it and tried to use it to give it another shot. It is totally dried out. RIP OFF!!

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - Deluxe Eyelash Curler - metal
rated 5 of 5
babydoll67 11/11/2010 12:54:00 PM

My lashes are okay without a lash curler but with a curler, WOW! They really stand out and make my eyes pop. When I was under the illusion that all lash curlers were created equally, I picked one up from a dollar store and promptly got pinched, had an ugly crease and had some lashes ripped out. I tried a metal one from Revlon and was happy with the results. A few years ago for Christmas, I was given a Sephora gift card and decided to get a SE lash curler. What a huge letdown. It was no different from the Revlon curler. Well, there was a difference; the price. Since I had purchased the SE curler, I wasn't getting rid of it until it fell apart. Well, I left it in my ex's car when we broke up about 8 months ago. Since I would rather shove a hot poker in my nose than talk to him, I decided to cut my losses. I haven't gotten around or cared much to get another curler. Now that I have snapped out of the break up blues, I give a hoot about what I look like again and am back on the prowl. I was in Walgreens earlier this week and bought this Tweezerman curler. I have had good luck with their products in the past and gave it a shot. WOW, JUST WOW!! This curler is better than the SE curler. It doesn't pinch me, it gets every lash, has three refill silicone pads and the pads are light blue which makes it very easy to see darker lashes. Sometimes the mid priced items blow the expensive items out of the water. This is the case for me with this curler. Tweezerman's lifetime guarantee is pretty sweet as well. They really do honor that. They have replaced brow tweezers before.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Outlast
rated 5 of 5

I usually despise so called indellible lip colors but I love this one. The color stays nicely for about 8 hours and the balm is really nice and soothing. I have found that eating greasy foods, makes it come off a little faster. Also, exfoliating your lips at least twice a week, makes it go on smoother.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

I was in Sephora this weekend and decided to try this out. I had intentionally gone in there with minimal makeup so I could play and test out new colors. While I loved the color, I found the sparkles really annoying. If it weren't for them, I probably would have bought some. It seems that most NARS blushes have those. Very glad that I tried before making a purchase.

Mascara -Sephora - Mascara
rated 1 of 5
babydoll67 9/13/2010 3:10:00 PM

I dropped $14.00 (yeah not that much but when it sucks, it is a lot) on mascara from Sephora this weekend. I was getting ready for a night out Sat night and had just finished doing my hair. I went into my room to do my makeup. The mascara was the finishing touch. For a new tube of mascara, I was really surprised at how little it did. My lashes didn't look longer or fuller, just blacker. I went back into the bathroom to unplug my flat iron. The humidity was still lingering in the bathroom from the shower. When I got back to my room, mascara was running down my face like I had just cried a river. This mascara reminded me of some stuff I had gotten from a dollar store, only the dollar store was better. I am kicking myself for not buying the Lancome I was looking at.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 5 of 5

Lately, I have been on a sweet fragrance kick, namely cotton candy. After reading so many reviews on PS, I decided to go to Sephora and try it out. PS reminds me of my great grandmother's sugar cookies. It reminds me of fall. I bought the roller ball but now wish I had bought the bottle. The spray bottle smells sweeter. The rollerball has more of an alcohol scent but still smells yummy. Glad I found this scent. ******************UPDATE****************************************************** In the few hours since I first put this on, it has turned into something delicious. It has a sophisticated sweet scent, and a playful baked good/cotton candy scent that you would smell at an outdoor fall festival. I have been cleaning the house with tons of chemicals and it is still on my arms and smells wonderful. I think I found a new regular. If the men love this as much as my cotton candy body spray, I will be very pleased. ;)

Fragrances -Parfums de Coeur - Body Fantasies Cotton Candy
rated 1 of 5
babydoll67 9/5/2010 7:16:00 PM

I bought this once thinking it was the Juice Bar Cotton Candy, just in a different package. It is made by the same company so I thought it was the same. Wrong. It didn't smell like cotton candy to me at all and didn't last very long on my skin. I wish Juice Bar version was easier to find in stores. I ordered some online the other day. I am way too old to be wearing cotton candy scents, but so what. They make me happy. :) **************************************************UPDATE********************** I was in Walgreens at lunch and saw this. Don't ask me why I bought it, but I did. I knew I didn't like this particular scent a while ago, but I am on a cotton candy kick right now. Now I remember why I didn't like it. It smells like plastic cotton candy. It has a very plastic scent that is driving me nuts. This will probably end up on my swap list. I am still a fan of the Juice Bar version.

Fragrances -Parfums de Coeur - Juice Bar Cotton Candy fragrance

A friend of mine introduced this to me about 10 years ago. She smelled so wonderful I had to ask what she was wearing. When she showed me the bottle, I laughed and said "That's for kids"! She said, "Men come out of the woodwork when I wear this stuff". I bought some and she was right! I had more men coming up to me telling me I smelled delicious. Yes, it is marketed to girls, but this perpetual "kid" just ordered some from Parfums De Coeur. It cost about 10.00 with shipping but it will last me forever. Maybe one day I will grow up, but I hope not. ;)

Fragrances -Soap and Glory - Glamalot
rated 5 of 5
babydoll67 9/5/2010 5:59:00 PM

Thanks to MUA, I heard about Soap and Glory. I had seen it in Target, but assumed that if it was in Target it had to be junk. After reading the positive reviews on here about Glamalot and all of Soap and Glory products, I hightailed it to Target while it is still in stock. Sadly, at the end of this month, it won't be available in Target anymore. Since Soap and Glory products won't be carried at Target anymore, they are on clearance. I got a huge bottle of Glamalot for $9.00. It smells delicious and expensive! Patiently waiting to see where it will be carried Stateside. It smells classy, sexy, warm and sweet but not cheap or cloying. It smells like it cost much more than what I paid. Will be going back to Target tomorrow and buy one more bottle.

Conditioner -Wen by Chaz Dean - Fig Cleansing Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
babydoll67 9/3/2010 3:50:00 PM

I started out using Wen on Good Friday. I got the Almond Mint. Since I have color treated hair, I decided to go with the Fig. Like the poster before me, after about a month, my hair looked dry and frizzy, total opposite of what Wen is supposed to do. Not only that, I had a significant amount of hair ending up on the shower floor. I thought sulfate free shampoos were supposed to be better for your hair, not worse? I lost less hair with bcp's than with Wen. To say the scent was disgusting, is being generous. It smells like medicine and it doesn't go away. Every time I sweat or my hair gets the slightest bit moist, that medicinal/fig scent "wakes up". I was spending a small fortune on this stuff and my hair looked like I was using Suave instead of a $30.00 bottle of shampoo. Thanks to the internet, I found out about Hair One by Sally's. $11.00 a bottle and the first night I used it, I got compliments on my hair. My hair looks like it should have with Wen. Big no to Wen, big Yes to Hair One.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
rated 1 of 5
babydoll67 9/3/2010 3:38:00 PM

My eyes are sensitive and get irritated very easily. Lancome and Clinique have always been my HG mascaras but my budget just doesn't stretch that far these days. I decided to give this a try and am not happy that I did. First off, it stinks. Second, like other posters have mentioned, it clumps when you try to put on a second coat. Third, it gets in my eyes and burns. The only pro that I can think of, is that the tube is almost empty. Will not be purchasing again.

Hair -Sacha Cosmetics - Sally - Hair One Hair Cleanser and Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
babydoll67 8/28/2010 4:48:00 PM

I have been using Wen since Good Friday and have loved it, but sometimes it can be tricky. Use too little and my hair is dry and frizzy. Use too much and it is greasy. The price of Wen is just too much for me to handle right now. Thanks to the internet, I heard about Hair One and decided to give it a try. Since I color my hair, I got the jojoba formula for color treated hair. Honestly, it is almost exactly like Wen. My hair isn't quite as soft as with the Wen, but for 11.00 opposed to 30.00 it is a difference that I can live with. The only complaint that I have is that the bottle only comes in 12 ounce bottles. I will see how long this lasts. If I end up running out as fast as I did with the bigger bottle of Wen, maybe the price difference isn't that big. I still have some Wen styling creme and the texture balm. After I got out of the shower, I used the styling creme. My hair looks and feels great. The Wen formula of Wen that I was using was fig. That scent is so strong it almost annyoing. When I first put it on in the shower, it has a medicinal scent. This Hair One jojoba smells fresh and not too strong. More than likely, I will buy this again. *******UPDATE******* Saturday afternoon was the first time that I used Hair One getting ready for a girl's night out. My friends all told me how much healthier and prettier my hair looked. They asked me if I got it colored or cut. I had been using Wen since Easter and nobody complimented me on my hair but the first time I use something from Sally's I get compliments left and right! With the Wen, I had to shampoo every day or it looked greasy. I only have to shampoo every other day with Hair One. Chaz you have a great product but I regret to inform you that I am not spending a small fortune on it anymore.LAST UPDATE********* Since using Hair one, I had forgotten just how sickening Wen smells and how horrible my hair really looked when I was using it. I tricked myself into thinking that it looked good. My hair looks and feels AMAZING with Hair One. So happy I found it!! UPDATE: My hair looked really great with Hair One, for a while....this stuff was literally making my hair fall out. My hairline was receeding like a guy! I chalked it up to horomones and had no idea it had to do with my shampoo. I ran out of Hair One and was using my boyfriend's shampoo. After about three weeks, my hair was starting to grow back.

Hair -Wen by Chaz Dean - Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
babydoll67 5/24/2010 12:12:00 AM

I got my order of Wen on Good Friday. My hair looked fabulous, like I had just left the salon. After a few weeks, my hair seemed really flat and greasy. I was about to give up on the stuff until I went to have my color and highlights retouched. My stylist used regular shampoo and conditioner. When I left the salon, my hair was frizzy, dull and dry. It felt like straw. I went home and wet my hair, and put a few pumps of wen in my hair. It looked great. I hadn't used regular shampoo in almost a month. I will keep using this product, but not too crazy about the flat, greasy look. I think I will go really easy on it as a leave in conditioner, and not use so much of the styling cream. Living in Houston, humidity is a huge problem. With Wen, my hair is not frizzy, even if I don't blow dry it. That alone is worth the price. I don't order it through Guthy Renker. Trying to cancel the auto pay BS is like pulling teeth. I order right from Chaz Dean's website. **********UPDATE*************** I am not making the money I used to and just couldn't justify paying so much for shampoo. Decided to go to Sally's and check out Hair One which was said to be a knock off of Wen. Really not too crazy about getting something at Sally's as I never had luck with their products before. I only planned to get one bottle and use Wen when every other month. Hair One blows Wen out of the water. I got more compliments on my hair. Not many with Wen. It costs $11.00 a bottle and works with my hair much better. I will NOT be buying Wen again.
