Lip Gloss -Smashbox - O-GLOSS
b_electrocuted 4/29/2008 7:47:00 PM
I purchased O-gloss and O-Glow at the same time after testing them on the back of my hand at Sephora. I spent about $55 for both. I am in love with them! The O-Glow looks similar to Nars Matahari, only more natural. O-gloss is just as lovely. It has excellent staying power and is the perfect shade of rosy pink on my NC35 skin ( blue eyed, fire engine red hair, slight summer tan). I would definitely repurchase both items, especially the gloss.

Self Tanners -Sephora - Sephora Body Self Tanning Bronzing Mist
b_electrocuted 3/4/2008 10:06:00 PM
I bought this self tanner after reading the rave reviews on MUA. I freakin LOVE it. It says a lot for me to love a tanner this much. It smelled so good. It was a very light grapefruity type scent that did not overpower me while sleeping with it on. The mist, well I thought I did a good job, apparently, I did not get my legs very well...but thats my fault. I did like the way the mist spayed on: microfine and fast drying. The color is absolutely AWESOME. It is a bronzey, not orangey or yellow color. I am a NW20 right now, yes winter winter, and it has been getting warm. I will not hit the tanning bed and ruin my 1 year of religious Obagi use, so I have been trying self tanners to find the best one. This tanner made me look about an NC 30 or 35. This is truly it. Its the good stuff. I will rebuy. In fact, I will head to Sephora this weekend to stock up, in fear that they will dsc it!

Self Tanners -Neutrogena - Sun Fresh
b_electrocuted 2/27/2008 11:15:00 PM
I tried this on a whim. It was either self tanner or tanning bed, as I am so pale it is scary. I have been using Obagi for the last 6 months, so no sun, no tanners. The container was super easy to use, it smelled like grapefruit, it blended very easily, and dried quickly. The next morning, I woke up stinking like metal (the usual weird self tanner smell). Once I came out of the shower, I thought it looked pretty good. It was very light, very sheer color. I am an NW20. I like this stuff, but may need something a bit darker when summer hits, but it is perfect for that in between time. I would definitely repurchase. It is also dirt cheap. Update: I reapply trying to get a bit of a darker shade...it is just too too light. I still look ghostly. On to something else!

Foundations -Smashbox - Function Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation
b_electrocuted 2/22/2008 10:58:00 PM
I was looking to replace my usual Studio Fix, when I stumbled into Sephora. Ok, I "stumble" into Sephora a couple times a week ;). I decided to try something new and bought this in the lightest shade. In fact, they only had the lightest shade and the two darkest in stock. Luckily, the color was doable, although next time, I will go a shade darker. It latest beautifully through the whole day and long after work. I get an oil slick on my forehead after a few hours of Studio Fix, so I was pleasantly surprised with this product. It never built up, oxidized, or slipped off. This is my new HG foundation. I will never go back to Studio Fix. This stuff is like gold! I also loved the packaging, very Nars-like. I used the sponge at first, then switched to a Mac foundation brush.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
b_electrocuted 2/15/2008 4:45:00 PM
I have tried every top coat out there is search of my HG. I found it in Seche Vite, thanks to the reviews on MUA. This is a very shiny, quick dry top coat with NO SHRINK! Yeah! No shrinkage! I will never ever waste my $ on any other brand.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Liquid Liner in Perversion
b_electrocuted 2/11/2008 3:31:00 PM
I loved the packaging and the color. It is a nice pitch black with no shimmer. I typically use fluidline in blacktrack, but I was looking for something easier, to maybe use on the go. The brush was too flimsy to create a nice line. The consistency was like liquid plastic. I used it on the top lid only, and it soaked into my top lashes so quickly, that all I was left with was spidery lashes and an uneven, wet line. I am a pro with liquid liner, so I was very surprised at how badly this stuff went on. After this stuff dried, my eyes kind of burned for a while. I heard that this is caused by the lanolin in this product. About an hour later, I had smudge lines in my eye creases. I returned it back to Sephora and restocked the fluidline.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Bloodwork
b_electrocuted 2/6/2008 11:54:00 PM
I purchased this at Sephora after testing it on my hand, showering, washing my hands, then glancing down and seeing that red dot still on my hand the next day! I swear this should be in the Nars Lipstain Gloss category, not just gloss. I love it. Its gorgeous. Its hot on its own and sweet when blotted. This was an excellent purchase!

Lip Treatments -Sephora - professional lip balm
b_electrocuted 2/6/2008 4:37:00 PM
Excellent lip balm. I love the black & white basicness of the jar. This stuff is just top notch and so cheap! I have a jar in my desk at work, in my car, bathroom, and bedside...and in every purse! I also threw in these as gift extras during Christmas. I used to be loyal to Mac Lip Conditioner in the jar, but this balm is much better.

Blush -MAC - Sculpt & Shape in Sculpt/Accentuate
b_electrocuted 2/5/2008 8:07:00 PM
I'm a NW 20-25. The MA suggested the Accentuate & Sculpt shade. I like the light part, but prefer my Nars Albatross for h/l. The taupey part looked horrible. It looks like matte dirt. I have never been this disappointed with a MAC product before :(

Styling Products -DuWop - Hands 2 Hair

I got a small sample of this in a swap as an extra. I tried it and rushed to sephora.com that same night to buy a tube. I am not big on hand cream or finishing cream, but this stuff is excellent. Its not greasy, not shimnery...its just perfect. I also love the understated pepperminty sent.

Blush -NARS - Outlaw
b_electrocuted 10/7/2007 7:40:00 PM
As a Nars blush addict, I feel head over heels for Outlaw. It is the perfect color...like the color of Mata Hari meets the shimmer and punch of Torrid. I love this stuff.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
b_electrocuted 10/7/2007 7:38:00 PM
I swapped for this BNIB. I was pretty intimidated when I whipped out that giant wand. Wow, was I shocked when I tried it...fabulous blacker than black, lush, thick, curled lashes with no clumps at all. It was perfect even on my bottom lashes. I usually have to use a separate mascara, Mac Splashproof, on my bottom lashes because I wear contacts and use eye drops frequenty. Mac Fibre Rich...later!...Splashproof...it's over! I am all about Bad Gal Lash now! Hello, my name is lemming.

Blush -NARS - Gina
b_electrocuted 8/25/2007 3:49:00 PM
I typically like coral/orangey blush because I am an NC25/30, dyed bright copper red hair, blue eyes. I usually use for Mac Foolish Me, Nars Orgasm (almost too light), Taj Mahal, Exhibit A, or Torrid. I'd say that this is a very nice balance between super shimmery orange Taj Mahal and shimmery coral Torrid. It don't see any shimmer in this blush, but other reviewers have mentioned shimmer. The color is a sweet, smooth tangerine. It looks soft and glowing on me. I am just in love with it and will repurchase again and again. I got this is a swap, and I feel SO lucky to have tried it!

I found Torrid to be an excellent color that gives a real punch of bright color with a nice glowing shimmer. I really prefer this over Orgasm now.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Blackground
b_electrocuted 8/21/2007 11:18:00 PM
I tried this with a brush...hated it. I tried it using my finger, yes, a big no no, but it really needs the warmth of that to spread and blend evenly...now I adore it! I use the bare study first as an all over base/highlighter and then apply blackground to the lid, then layer e/s over it...perfection...even in the Texas heat!
