Fragrances -Fresh - Brown Sugar Roll-On
b3llav1ta 8/23/2011 11:46:00 AM
When I opened my purchase from Sephora, a sample of this perfume fell out of the red tissue papers. And I just sprayed it on a whim. To the Sephora girl who didn't even tell me that she put the sample in the bag, a big THANK YOU! I'm quite a perfume snob - I don't normally go with cheap(ish) perfume. It is quite a rare occassion for me to like a perfume. I would normally stick to one perfume for years - then I got bored and try to find a new scent. My previous 'signature scents' in the past have been: Estee Lauder Pleasure (my first perfume ever!), Angel Thierry Mugler, and Chloe (the new version). Fresh Brown Sugar smelled a bit citrusy on me when first sprayed on, but it dries down to the sweet (not cloyingly sweet) sugary scent. These are the notes quoting from their website: Top Notes: Sicilian lemon, tangerine, açaí Heart Notes: sugared magnolia, sheer honeysuckle, peach nectar Base Notes: caramel, warm amber, cypress I guess the heart and base notes linger and mixed well with my body chemistry and creating this sweet, lush, fresh scent. Me likey. What surprising was the lasting power. This actually lasts longer than my Chloe! I just wished they came in a cuter bottle - but, eh, not a biggie.

Lotions/ Creams -Chloe - Perfumed Body Lotion
b3llav1ta 5/3/2011 3:23:00 PM
I'm more of a lotion than a perfume person. I have been eyeing Chloe Perfumed Body Creme, but alas, I cannot make myself shed US$85 for a 5oz jar of body cream - so, it just has to wait. In the mean time, I've got the body lotion and it should work for the hotter months (maybe I'll get the creme closer to winter). The body lotion's consistency is a tad too runny for my taste. Also not the best moisturizer, as most 'branded' perfumed lotions are, -but I use a different body lotion after my night shower for intense moisturizing - and use this perfumed lotion in the morning to make me smell delicious. :) I have religiously been using Angel Thiery Mugler's Perfumed Body Lotion, and I found Angel lotion lasts longer than Chloe. I usually can still smell Angel lotion on my arm at the end of the day (even in the evening), but not the case for Chloe lotion. I can barely smell it towards the end of the day. And I use approximately the same amount of lotion for both Angel and Chloe. That's why I can only give this lotion a 4 star. I'm wondering if the body creme would last longer? I might just go ahead and get one soon! :)

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco Shine Monte Carlo
b3llav1ta 4/21/2011 4:53:00 PM
I have been reading all the raves on beauty/makeup blogs about Chanel Rouge Coco Shine. Today I gave in, and went to my local Nordstrom. I tried 3 shades (on my lips) out of the whole line. To be honest, I really liked all 3, but I settled on Monte Carlo. The color is berry like on my lips - with maybe just a hint of mauve. Looks very fresh and definitely brighten up my complexion. Texture wise, it is very light. Very moisturizing, too. Almost like a lipgloss in a stick form. The SA warned me that it is very addicting! :) 5 out of 5 for everything. And YES, (unfortunately) I will be buying more of this gem, at $32 a piece! (+ tax).

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Mascara Basic [DISCONTINUED]
b3llav1ta 4/20/2011 5:02:00 PM
I rated 5 of everything on this baby. Yep, 5 on price (dang expensive). And 5 on packaging quality (I love the sleek-curvy black tube!). The name says it all. Mascara Basic. It gives your eyelashes a natural look. Your basic lashes look but better. Darker. Longer. No clumps whatsoever. I do, however, have a confession to make: I don't ditch this mascara every 3 months (or whatever month you're supposed to keep them). That's why I managed not to break my bank even by using this mascara daily.

Mascara -Shiseido - Nourishing Mascara Base
b3llav1ta 4/20/2011 4:54:00 PM
Shiseido was the first mascara base brand that I had. I have strayed - and tried different brands afterwards, but always - ALWAYS return to this one. Apparently they revamp the formula and lots of people prefer the old one than the new one. But me -I don't mind either way, really. Both are very good - and the best mascara base there is. The older formula is thicker, and the new one is lighter - but that's about it. Staying power, awesomeness - remain unchanged. My favorite part of this mascara base is the fact that it is clear (looks milky white on the brush, but when you apply it goes on transparent). Definitely my HG!

Lip Gloss -Illamasqua - Intense in Move
b3llav1ta 4/20/2011 4:27:00 PM
Illamasqua Intense lipgloss in Move was my first purchase of the line - and I'm definitely getting more. I am not so much of a lipstick person - if anything, I would get sheer lipstick. But oddly enough, I like this 'intense lipgloss'. Other reviewers have described it right on. An in between lipgloss and lipstick. A liquid lipstick. I don't like a very glossy gloss - so, this gloss is perfect for me with just a tad shine. Longer lasting compare to other glosses. Pretty sticky but nothing more than other (non-intense) lipglosses. Color wise, obviously this would turn out slightly different from one person to another, but on me it shows up as mauvy-berry. A very pretty fall color, IMO. I have my eyes on the neon pink (Indulge) and blood red (Succubus) next. Can't wait to see how the color turn out on my lips!

Blush -Illamasqua - Lover
b3llav1ta 3/1/2011 4:14:00 PM
Illamasqua Lover is my first blush from the line - and I already am planning to get another one. It is very pigmented, but translate to a soft, natural and subtle color when applied. Light hand would definitely helps. Sephora website describe this as 'Vibrant Apricot', which is pretty true. The color watch, however, is way off. When I received this in the mail, I was so ready to return it (I was looking for a soft & light peachy shade) - but I decided to give it a try, and so glad I did. I definitely reach this blush whenever I don't feel like wearing pink. I only give this 4 stars because I think the packaging is a bit too bulky for a blush. I wish they make these more compact like NARS or Shu Uemura, other favorite brands for blushes.

Lip Gloss -Yves Saint Laurent - Gloss Volupte
b3llav1ta 3/1/2011 2:39:00 PM
I'm in LOVE with these babies. It is very smooth and moisturizing, with just enough shine and best of all, not sticky at all! It is what exactly they brag themselves about - a lipgloss in a lipstick form. A gloss-stick. If you're into those shimmery-liquidy-sticky gloss, then these may not be for you. The first one I own was Chilled Raspberry. It is a very fresh, natural pink color on my lips. Then I went to my local Sephora, just to find out they only have one shade left from the whole collection, which was Sugared Almond. This one just barely show up on my lips. But it certainly gives that smooth, moisturized feeling. I'm hoping to get more of these - but with the price tag, I really have to control myself. :) Awesomeness of these babies deserve 5 stars, but I knock one off due to the price.

Lip Treatments -Urban Decay - Lip Primer Potion
b3llav1ta 2/15/2011 1:39:00 PM
I got this as a part of the potion in a box. This lip primer doesn't do anything. It feels a bit drying. I rarely use lip primer, and been only using one other one besides UD's (Philosophy big mouth - but it has been discontinued). Between the two, I definitely liked Philosophy's better. I found UD's to be a bit drying, and I don't even have dry lips!

Mascara -Urban Decay - Eyelash Primer Potion
b3llav1ta 2/15/2011 1:36:00 PM
I really wished this primer would work, but it didn't. I'm a huge fan of Shiseido eyelash primer - and I love the fact that it is colorless. Not the case with UD's. It is white - and I found it's hard to cover them all. I also didn't find any difference with this on or off. While with Shiseido's, I definitely see the difference. My otherwise long straight lashes were able to hold its curl and no smudges at all (I have oily skin). Back to the store it goes. :(

Blush -Shu Uemura - Glow On P Wine 29
b3llav1ta 2/14/2011 4:30:00 PM
I'm loving my new Shu's blush. Glow On P Wine #29 is my first Shu's blush - and since I can only ordered it online, I was gambling with the color match, etc. When it arrived, I was kinda scared with how bright the color looks on the pan. Not sure why they call this one 'wine', while there's nothing wine about it. It's more like a shocking medium pink. BUT, it applies wonderfully on my cheek! Looks very natural. As a reference, I have a medium, cool tone complexion that gets tanned during the warmer months. I'm going to order another color! ^^

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in 1999
b3llav1ta 1/7/2011 4:20:00 PM
This is such a unique color - shimmery pale purple/lilac - if I may say. Now that my skin is lighter in the winter, this color would work on me. I use this when I feel like a very soft shimmer look for my eyes. We'll see if it would still work with my tan skin tone in the summer. I'm taking one lippie, because this color somehow not showing up on my waterline.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in bourbon
b3llav1ta 1/7/2011 3:42:00 PM
This is my first UD 24-7 eyeliner - and I love it! I'm an AAB with medium-cool tone skin, and being in my late 30s, I feel that black liner is a tad too much (maybe because I'm not so much of an eyeliner junkie to begin with). So I was looking for a medium brown. Been trying different ones - I was so happy when I finally found UD Bourbon. UD's eyeliner's consistency, in my opinion, is the best out there. With MUFE Aqualiner being second. Bourbon is just that perfect medium brown color for me, and I love the fact that it has some subtle glitter. Definitely an HG for my day-to-day eyeliner!

Primer/ Corrector -Shiseido - The Makeup Smoothing Veil SPF16
b3llav1ta 1/7/2011 2:39:00 PM
This product is supposedly for all-skin type. I have an oily complexion, and sadly, this isn't the right one for me. Despite of being in my late 30s, I don't have problems with wrinkles/fine lines (I guess I have to thank my oily skin for that!), but I do have problems with larger pores. Smoothing Veil does not really smooth out my pores (though it may work wonderfully smoothing some lines/wrinkles). So, back to Sephora it goes.

Liquid -100 Percent Pure - HEALTHY SKIN FOUNDATION WITH SUPER FRUITS SPF 20 (full coverage / satin finish)
b3llav1ta 1/7/2011 2:07:00 PM
This was my first purchase of 100 Percent Pure line. I was so pleasantly surprise of how good this foundation is! The key is to let it dry and set it with any of your loose powder, then, voila - you'll have a flawless skin. The matteness power is also pretty awesome. I have an oily skin, and this foundation holds up much better than some name brands foundations I've ever tried. It dries up pretty fast, so you need to apply this quickly. I'm not a big brush person, so I usually just apply this with my fingers. The heat from your fingers actually helps in blending this foundation, in my opinion. From time to time I use the beauty blender sponge in stippling motion to help me blend the foundation. I'm an AAB with medium cool toned (in the winter), and the shade Golden Peach matches my skin tone perfectly. I'm more tan in the summer, so - I'm not sure if I still could use the same shade. I'll update if necessary.
