Eyeliner -Kat Von D - Tattoo Liner
rated 2 of 5

I had high hopes for this eyeliner but they kind of fell flat for me. I have no idea why but when I use liquid eyeliner it tends to wear away closest to my eyelashes because I have monolids and that part doesn't show when I have my eyes open naturally. This eyeliner tends to wear off there and crack so I have to reapply it during the day. The firm brush tip seemed nice at first but now it just seems like it's drying up when I just bought the liner like 2 weeks ago and have used it maybe several times so it shouldn't be drying out. So now when I apply it, it doesn't apply as a bold black, but a gray, so I have to go over it again, but sometimes since there's not enough liquid on the brush tip it ends up scraping away part of the liner I already did. I will not repurchase this because it did not hold up for me, despite being long-lasting.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Petting Pink
rated 5 of 5
azng4life 12/27/2010 5:32:00 AM

I absolutely LOVE this TLC. I first tried it when my friend had it and vowed that I would purchase it whenever I could. When I went to buy it, the saleswoman told me that Petting Pink was their most popular color and that I was buying the last one left that day! It's a gorgeous natural-looking shade of bright pink for me that brightens up my face. It's not the most moisturizing of lip conditioners, but it does do pretty well and the added SPF is a giant bonus.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 5 of 5
azng4life 11/28/2010 4:15:00 AM

I felt the urge to write this review because the mask is actually on my face right now! I absolutely adore this mask, but it can burn sometimes if you happen to wash or exfoliate your face vigorously beforehand. I have combination skin, so I only use this on my t-zone where it mainly gets oily. I would not recommend this for people with dry skin because it does dry out your skin a lot. But, this mask is wonderful for treating pimples, often flattening out some of my pimples overnight. As for blackheads, the awesome shrunken blackhead result is usually temporary for me, and I will add that I've always had issues with stubborn blackheads. I'm aware that you can get this product in a tub, but I happened to get it in a tube, which is a bit inconvenient for me because you have to squeeze out a lot to get the desired amount to cover your face. The opening of the tube is quite small so I just kind of have to squeeze out as much as possible without letting the actual product touch my countertop so I can work quickly before my pores start closing because I usually open my pores with warm water beforehand. You do get a lot in a tube though, and it says you get 33% more which is cool.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5
azng4life 8/24/2010 2:34:00 AM

God, I felt so terrible that I even tried this product. I'm a #3 in the Clinique line but I ran out of my DDMG and so I borrowed my sister's DDML. I thought since it was for dry skin that if I just used less to cover my whole face that I'd be okay. I was dead wrong. My face became intensely oily and I broke out so bad from all the oil on my face!

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
rated 5 of 5
azng4life 8/24/2010 2:19:00 AM

About 5 years ago when I had my first bout of acne, I got samples of the Clinique 3-step skincare line and my skin instantly cleared up! But I didn't purchase Clinique products after that I've fallen in love with DDMG and after purchasing it recently, got a sample of the facial wash and this toner. I think I love it. I use a Clarisonic at night and after using this toner, I realize how much I've actually missed on my skin! The alcohol is a bit drying because it's sweeping away all the oil on your skin at first, but then you put on the DDMG and your skin is soft and supple. Also, I haven't used a facial scrub in like 2 weeks but the clarifying lotion leaves my skin SO SMOOTH! The blackheads on my cheeks next to my nose (dang oily t-zone) have shrunk in size and my skin isn't as oily as usual. This clarifying lotion also seems to calm my skin of some of it's redness. As for people saying it stings, I've never experienced that at all. I use Neutrogena's now discontinued ( sad face! ) Clear Pore cleanser/mask that has 3.5% benzoyl peroxide and there's never been any irritation or overdrying for me. I really love this toner as of right now, and still have half the bottle of the sample size to use up! Once I finish it, I'll see how the results are and see if I'm willing to buy the full size

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
rated 4 of 5
azng4life 8/21/2010 2:24:00 AM

I've been waiting to purchase this forever! It's just made it's way into the drugstores where I live because we don't have CVS pharmacies. I have the set for Brown eyes which includes a purple, brown, and black with blue glitter. The brush it comes with is crap, and the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner brush is much better in comparison. I prefer an angled brush, but my dog chewed it up. I haven't touched the brown or purple yet, but I tried the black with blue glitter. The glitter was a bit chunky which wasn't great, but once you applied it it smoothed out. If you get chunks on your brush, it will be smoothed out once you applied it as well. I went swimming with this eyeliner on today and it survived great for about 2 hours and then I rubbed my eyes and the eyeliner met it's demise. If I hadn't touched it, it probably would've still be doing really well.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
azng4life 8/16/2010 3:20:00 AM

I have really straight, Asian lashes that are impossible to curl. When I went to my friend's house, she had this mascara and I decided it would be worth it to use it because there's all this hype about it. Due to the fact I didn't use a heated curler that day, my curl's didn't stay, but the mascara did thicken my lashes nicely. Turns out, after school that day I had track practice when it was absolutely pouring down rain and I had no hood. When I went into the locker room, I noticed super minimal smudging from this mascara. There was an extremely light shade of gray in a strip under my lower lashes but nowhere near what I'd usual get from using other mascaras. CoverGirl's marathon mascara used to be my HG mascara despite the fact it was somewhat hard to remove and you lost some eyelashes in the removal process, but this one seems like a good replacement for it. EDIT: I recently repurchased this mascara yesterday and wore it today to a pool party. The application is very thin, but enough to look completely natural and have a decent hold on the curl of eyelashes. Due to the fact I was wearing eyeliner and mascara at the same time, i couldn't tell which one was smudging but both held up extremely well for about 2 hours in the pool before I rubbed my eyes.

Misc Beauty Tools -Gillette - venus embrace
rated 3 of 5
azng4life 7/2/2010 2:40:00 AM

I wish I could get rid of this razor but I keep getting free ones everywhere! With my Olay body wash and SatinCare shave gel, I just can't escape it! It's not even that good. The moisturizing layer surrounding the blades aren't really that moisturizing and if you happen to store it face down, the moisturizing layer dries to the surface of whatever you put it down on and then it gets this like weird edge that was not there before. My legs require lotion to be remotely soft afterwards. As for the shave, the shave is okay, but not dramatically smooth and doesn't last very long at all. It'll get the job done if you need some decently shaven legs. Frankly, I like the Venus Breeze better because it is more moisturizing.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 5 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:52:00 PM

A little oilier than I'd prefer, but removes all makeup with such ease! It's really quite expensive, so I stick to the sample sizes in Lancome gifts with purchase, and those last forever.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
rated 4 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:39:00 PM

I use Biosilk as a heat protectant to save my split ends in conjunction with Tresemme's Heat Tamer. I was first introduced to it when my hairdresser used it on me when she straightened my hair and my hair was SO SILKY SMOOTH. Since then, I haven't really been able to do the same results, but that's okay. It helps to make your hair look really shiny and I think that I've saved some of my ends by using it. But, it left a residue on my flat iron that was brown and gross and accumulated on the edges of the plates. The residue is easily removed with a wet paper towel but it's still strange. When my hairdresser first used it on me, she combed through each section of hair right after she ironed them, and I use the same technique to get my hair to cool down faster. In my comb inbetween the teeth there is some residue as a result of Biosilk as well. Careful when you dispense it too, because too much can come out and then dry and become a sticky mess all over the bottle. If you get too much your hair will look greasy, or your hands will be really greasy. I don't necessarily LOVE this product, but it works well enough that I'd buy it again.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
rated 1 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:35:00 PM

Having oily skin, I picked up this scrub and scrubbed the life out of my skin, which really wasn't smart. My skin felt smooth but then in a few days I started breaking out horribly. The apricot bits in the scrub are really harsh on the skin and I read that it can leave actual microscopic tears in your skin. As for being able to clear up my skin, I saw no results even when I scrubbed more gently.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 2 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:34:00 PM

These strips do yank out the gunk in your pores, but they left me with crazy open pores that looked like holes in my skin! I was so freaked out by them and even splashed my nose with cold water and the pores did not close all the way. I was left with some pores becoming little craters in my skin and will not purchase these strips again because they damaged my skin. Also, peeling off the strips are pretty painful.

Eyeliner -MAC - Liquidlast Liner - Point Black
rated 4 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:25:00 PM

The brush is horrible, absolutely, positively horrible. The eyeliner itself just clumps all over it, and any attempt to wipe it off on the sides of the liner bottle is futile because it will never get a distinctly pointy tip. Also, you have to be careful not to wipe too much on the sides of the bottle because, like nail polish, you will never be able to get it open again. I am in love with the staying power though, because it truly lasts all day, even though it's horrible application ended up on my eyes for a whole day.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 2 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:22:00 PM

I had such high hopes for this product because everyone seemed to love it! Well, mainly the non-oily eyelid girls. The black is super bold and when it's applied it glides on smoothly and looks great. But, it did not last for me. It smudged horribly on me, especially when I went to school and wondered why this attractive guy kept staring at me strangely. Turns out, I looked like a raccoon, when I didn't even put the liner on my lower lids! Thank god it isn't waterproof like the Liquidlast liner or I would've been in a predicament

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Clear Pore Cleanser Mask
rated 5 of 5
azng4life 6/27/2010 10:18:00 PM

I really love this cleanser. When I was dying from not washing my face before freshman year, my face broke out horribly. I originally used the Oxy Maximum Strength Acne Wash which did clear my skin, but left my oily skin extremely dry and flakey. I read that you could tone down the percentage of benzoyl peroxide in your face wash and it'd still be as successful so I transitioned from 10% to the 3.5% in this cleanser. At first, I was seriously skeptical that this thing would work and read over 100 reviews to see how good it was. It payed off. My skin is really clear and I only have about 3 blemishes at a time now. Plus, the fact that it's non-foaming makes it more fitting for use with my Clarisonic. I've used it as both a daily cleanser and mask. When using it as a mask, you really do feel a tingy cooling effect on your face, but if you leave it on for too long your face can feel really itchy. I don't suggest using it as a spot treatment because it can bleach your sheets. Once I heard that Neutrogena might be discontinuing it I was about to cry! There aren't many low percentage non-foaming BP cleansers out there and this one works so well! I bought a second one just in case, but I really hope it stays around. I almost resorted to purchasing the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap, but then realized this cleanser was SO much better because it was medicated and really cleared your pimples because of the BP.
