Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25
rated 2 of 5
azcohn 5/22/2013 2:29:00 AM

I got two sample envelopes of this moisturiser when I bought another full-size PC product. One envelope I used and one I'll throw out. It's like a white ointment that smells bad and that didn't absorb into my skin, leaving my face feeling sticky and unpleasant. It may be a great sunscreen but I'll stick to my Neutrogena Ageless Instensives with SPF 20 - it's way more to my liking.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme - Raspberry Rush

What a beautiful color!! Got it on Amazon for a great price. Very lush color, along the lines of Revlon's Berry Smoothie Lip Butter, but deeper and richer (less bright). Very nice lippie.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche lipstick in Blushing Berry
rated 4 of 5

I see this hasn't been reviewed for a while but the truth is it's a forever kind of shade. It's very subtle so it's good for when you want just a little color. The shade is berryish - not too dark, not too light; just right. I love L'Oreal lipsticks and this is a keeper. However, I have other lipsticks that I like more, so I doubt I'll repurchase.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in True Red
rated 5 of 5
azcohn 3/12/2013 8:14:00 AM

I was looking for a true red, not garish or orange, but still somewhat in-your-face and noticeable. This is it. There was a 1+1 deal in my local store so I jumped at it. Very happy with this purchase. I had a few other options on my list, including a number of MAC reds, but I decided to be frugal and go with this one. I suspect that it will last me forever as it's not an everyday color and I'll save it for special occasions. Nice lippie!

Lipstick -MAC - Pro Longwear Lipcreme - Soft Sell
rated 5 of 5
azcohn 1/24/2013 6:16:00 AM

What she said. The previous reviewer gives a great description of this excellent lippie. I was tired of long-wearing lipsticks lasting until I took my first sip and ending up on the rim. This MAC lipstick does what it says - it lasts for six hours through eating, drinking, kissing, etc., and the color is not overwhelming (which is tricky since this lipstick isn't subtle at all in terms of consistency; it's very creamy and opaque). Leave it to MAC to be long lasting when they say long lasting.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational in Blushing Brunette
rated 3 of 5
azcohn 12/17/2012 5:18:00 AM

Thought this would be more pink/berry/blush than it is, and less brown than it is, though, the truth is, previous reviewers did describe it pretty accurately. I bought it online based on those descriptions, so I have no one to blame but myself for not loving it. I just hoped it would be a smidge brighter; as it is, it kind of washes me out. I'm not dissing it completely because lippies tend to grow on me as time goes on; we'll have to wait and see.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Color of Hope LE Colour Riche
rated 3 of 5
azcohn 12/17/2012 5:13:00 AM

This is a review for Color of Hope #531. I like Colour Riche lipsticks and I had high hopes for this one based on previous reviews. But unlike previous reviewers, I don't see any plum or pink or berry in this lippie; it's kind of brownish and I'm not loving it at all. I got it for a song on Amazon so no major loss, and there's always a chance that'll it grow on me, but, for now, color me disappointed.

Cleansers -Ponds - Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

Nice product. Not drying or over-exfoliating. Surpised it's not listed here (though it may be under a different name). In any case, highly recommended.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Moisture
rated 3 of 5
azcohn 8/27/2012 10:49:00 AM

On the fence about this product, leaning south. I was looking for a decently priced daytime moisturizer and this one seemed to have good ratings, with some anti-aging ingredients thrown in. The first strike against it is its consistency, which is kind of ointment-y and off-putting. If I don't enjoy using it, I'm not going to use it, so that's a problem. The other downside is that, of course, it doesn't do squat for the wrinkles (I didn't really expect it to, so that's not really fair, but still...). Luckily, it's a small tube, so I'll just use it up and move on to something else.

Masks -Freeman - Renewance Pomegranete Anti-Aging Peel
rated 5 of 5
azcohn 8/14/2012 6:55:00 AM

This hasn't been reviewed for years, but it's still available (I bought it on Amazon) and it still rocks. The label suggests using two or three times a week and you don't have to worry about using it that often; it also says to leave on for 10 minutes but longer is also fine. It's effective, but not too strong and my face is definitely smoother and brighter after using it. And it's super affordable. Highly recommended.

Moisturizers -Nature's Gate - Oh What a Night
rated 5 of 5
azcohn 7/24/2012 7:42:00 AM

I'd been using Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream and while I pretty much liked it, the smell was starting to get to me (it's really vile). So, based on the reviews here, I bought this on Amazon and I've been liking it very much. It smells really nice (what can I say - if you're gonna have something on your face all night you want it either to have no smell at all or something mild and pleasant, as this does), has a light texture and definitely makes a different overnight. My skin is smoother, more even-toned, and a little plumper when I awake. This one's a keeper.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
rated 4 of 5
azcohn 7/3/2012 3:33:00 AM

I'm loving this. First of all, cleansing aside, it feels so good and relaxing - like a massage for your face. As for cleansing, it's for sure more effective than your hands (like the difference between a regular toothbrush and an electric toothbrush, more or less), though the critical element is still the cleanser itself, more than the brush. In other words, if you have a favorite cleanser, you'll find that it's even better with the Pro-X; it won't, however, turn a mediocre cleanser/scrub into a miracle product. Also, don't pin too many hopes on this - it cleanses, but, for me at least, it didn't smooth my face (I have rough, bumpy skin, particularly on my cheeks and chin and I'm forever on a search for something that really smoothes - a fruitless search, in the meantime). I'm going to keep using this and I'll probably replace the brushes when they wear out. In other words, I can't imagine going back to manually cleaning my face again.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - vivite travel kit
rated 4 of 5
azcohn 7/3/2012 3:15:00 AM

At a bit over 10 bucks on Amazon I wouldn't exactly call this a splurge but, on the other hand, it's kind of a luxury to spend money on tiny products just because they're cute. I mean, the individual products have mixed reviews and I'll probably never buy the full sizes because they're on the pricey side so I'm not sure what I was thinking. That said, I'm saving the tiny cleanser for future travel so I can't review it now (it's the smallest of the bunch and I'm guessing there's enough product for three or four washings at most so I'll have to make it a short trip); I like the eye cream (and it's the most generous of the products); the serum doesn't seem to be doing anything and it's almot gone; and the jury's still out on the night cream, so I'll review it separately later. Altogether, a nicely packaged, emphasis-on-small travel set of mostly high-quality products, which I won't be repurchasing.

Scrubs -Queen Helene - Aloe Vera Facial scrub
rated 3 of 5
azcohn 7/3/2012 3:00:00 AM

So cheap and yet so effective. Not overly abrasive, yet it smooths my skin and really does seem to shrink pores (and mine are big). Strange that of all the QH scrubs, this one has the fewest reviews, even though I think it's one of the best scrubs out there. UPDATE: The novelty has worn off; I don't like this at all, and I've stopped using it.

Cleansers -Basis - Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash
rated 4 of 5
azcohn 7/3/2012 2:48:00 AM

Exactly what it says it is - basic. It's a good, basic gel cleanser, which cleans my face thoroughly and not harshly. It doesn't leave my skin soft (I just use moisturizer afterward) or my pores smaller, but it also doesn't overly dry out my skin or leave it feeling too tight. I doubt I'd buy again, even though it's really inexpensive (one of the cheapest, decent cleansers out there) but, on the other hand, it'll last me a long time since I rotate it with another three or four cleansers and scrubs. No bells and whistles, but it gets the job done.
