Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Revitalift Miracle Blur

I got a sample of this in a magazine. I am always up for trying out new primers. I have oily skin so I am on the look-out for something that will make my makeup last longer. This product went on nicely. It felt very smooth and I liked how it looked when first applied. It's the normal silicone primer feel but with something else in it. My skin looked nice with this on even w/out foundation. But my face was a total grease pit in less than 2 hours. I am glad I tried a sample and didn't pay for a full tube. If you don't have super greasy skin like me then this might work for you but I am back to my HG Estee Lauder illuminating perfecting primer.

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - coverall

This stuff is ok. It's dirt cheap and that is always a plus. I think for the price it's a great deal. But the actual product is just average. But I have tried much, much more expensive foundations that were also just average. The coverage is medium. The color selection is awful. If you can find a color match then give this a try. The wear was ok. I have oily skin so even with an excellent primer I get shiny pretty quickly with this foundation. I think the only foundation that left me matte and fresh for hours and hours was the Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 but I couldn't get a color match to save my life. All in all this is a good product for the price and I like the squeeze tube it comes in.

Ughhhh. This stuff left me soooooo greasy. It seperated after an hour of wear and left patches of no coverage. I can't recommend. I was excited to try it because I like the packaging. I love the ease of a stick concealer and the color looked perfect. I got the honey shade. In the package it looked like a good match but on my skin it was too orange. This wasn't expensive but.....another $6 wasted.

Liquid -FLOWER Beauty - About Face Foundation
rated 3 of 5

I have been wearing Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation and loooooving it. REALLY loving it!!! That is, until that fateful day when I noticed just how much of a difference in color my face was compared to my neck and how pinky red I looked in fluorescent lighting(work). Ok, I got the wrong color. So I bought a different color. Same issue. It just went so pink on me. Not right away but over time the color changed. So after making the horrific decision to glance at myself in a mirror at Walmart I saw this foundation and was drawn to it like a moth to a light. It was so nice and yellow based. No more pink face!! Well, the color was nice. It definately wasn't pink. The coverage was light to light medium. The finish is dewy. Some of you will love this foundation. If I didn't have oily skin I might like it more. But even with a great primer I got oily breakthrough pretty quick. But that's my skin. A total grease pit. Except my neck which is a crepey mess that nothing short of crisco can help but that's another story. The packaging is beautiful. It has a nice pump. The color selection is good. I wish this worked for me. It will work for those of you with drier skin who like a natural finish.

Primer/ Corrector -Estee Lauder - Illuminating Perfecting Primer
rated 5 of 5

I had a small sample of this primer. Actually, even though it was tiny it lasted quite awhile because you need such a small amount. I wasn't expecting much. Overall I dislike primers and feel they don't help my makeup last. They feel slippery and smeary. I usually avoid them after having tried a few. But I had this and thought what the heck. It was free. The full size version of this is $32. Not cheap! I never spent more than $11 on a primer and even then thought I wasted my money. Sooo.....OF COURSE I loved this one. Of course. It's $32. Just what I need. To fall in love with something out of my usual price range. Seriously, this stuff is just plain awesome. It's illuminating but I didn't notice any big sparkles. It hasn't broken me out even though I have fallen asleep with it on. And my makeup LASTS with very, very little oily breakthrough. Usually I have to blot hourly starting less than an hour after I put my makeup on. Not anymore! Another big plus is this doesn't feel "slippery" like every other primer I have tried. This is helpful if you are like me and have to fill your sparse brows in. Normal primers make that task such a hassle because my brow filler just slides all over the place. I highly recommend this product, especially for oily skinned individuals like me. Go to the Estee Lauder counter and just get a sample and see if it works for you.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 5 of 5

THIS BRUSH IS AWESOME. I had no real expectations for it. I mean elf is hit or miss and it was only 3 bucks. I just needed a powder brush. But this one is the best! I use it to apply liquid foundation and it works like a dream. My skin looks airbrushed. I have only had the brush a couple weeks and the handle is loose but some glue will fix that so I am not too put off by it. I really recommend this item.

Styling Products -Alterna - Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Blast
rated 2 of 5

I had a GC to Nordstroms. I needed some volumizer and they don't carry my usual brand so I figured I would try something new. I was actually looking for something I could use on wet hair but the SA recommened this one and I didn't see it was a spray for dry hair until I got home. First, it was pretty expensive. But I am willing to spend some money on products that will add volume to my super fine, silky textured hair that just hangs limply. Second, the smell. It is odd. I've seen reviews saying the scent is great but it's...odd. Kind of reminds me of the smell of someone getting a perm(lol). Third, my hair type is super fine, thin. This is made only worse by the fact I have lost alot of weight(43lbs in 3 months) and that triggered a massive hair shed. I seriously cry in the shower at all the hair I am losing. Apparantly, it's normal and will stop. I've been to the doctor and there is nothing that can be done. So....I need a good volumizer. This stuff didn't add much volume. Just felt like a light hairspray/hair powder combo. Like a very light dry shampoo. But it didn't WOW me like I expected. I am getting better results with sexy hair concepts root pump plus which is cheaper so I will continue to buy that.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation

I got samples of this foundation. It applied beautifully. The color match was wayyyyy off though. Not sure why she chose the colors she did for my fair skin. I was orange. But the coverage was nice and it felt so lush going on. I doubt I will buy a full size bottle. I can't justify spending $59 on foundation right now. But if you feel like a splurge try this out!!

Mascara -NYX - Za Za Zu

HORRIBLE STUFF. It irritated my eyes like no other mascara I have ever tried. Seriously, pepper spray is less irritating and I am not being funny. The little fibers got in my eyes and caused so much itching. Stay away from this. Also did NO lengthening or volumizing.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rated 4 of 5
axialmeow 6/19/2012 3:53:00 PM

Overall I like this. I initially purchased it in the color Buff. It's the same color I wore in the original Colorstay and the shade is pretty similar. But it's summer here and I've been outside and my skin is too dark for that shade now so I got it in the color Nude. I love how this feels going on. Sooooo smooth and creamy and it does feel whipped. I have super, super oily skin. I mean like I am blotting less than an hour after applying my makeup. It's always been like this and it sucks. This makeup is AMAZING at oil control. I didn't blot for over 6 hrs the other day! But there are some cons. One being that it feels like foundation whipped with silicone primer. It feels nice going on, yes. But it also feels like it never dries. Thanks to my sparse, thin brows I have to use eyebrow pencil and it just slips and slides on this foundation. It also causes it to smear off easily. But I set it with powder and that helps. Another con is the large, heavy jar. It looks nice but it terrible for traveling. But no paint smell like the original Colorstay so that's nice. I also think that it feels alot lighter on the skin. I love full coverage foundations and this is one. I wasn't a fan of the original. I felt like it broke me out. This has never broken me out and I have fallen asleep with it on numerous times. I definately recommend giving this a try. Good luck finding a color match because you can't see the shade in the jar. I just had to guess by looking at the colors of the orignal makeup. It's not identical but close.

Lipstick -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Precious
rated 1 of 5
axialmeow 6/5/2012 3:34:00 PM

I was so excited to find these. I couldn't wait to try this product. I love nude lip colors and Precious looked the perfect nude color. I found this at Ulta for $8.99. It applied nice and smooth and smelled minty. I was really surprised to see that this is not the nude color I expected. It's a shimmery pink. SOOOO disappointed. Shimmery pink lip colors are a dime a dozen and I'm sure not going to shell out $8.99 for that color. Ughhhh. I can count on one hand the number of times I have returned a cosmetic product but I am planning on returning this one.

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray
rated 4 of 5
axialmeow 6/4/2012 6:01:00 PM

I first ordered this from the website. I had read the reviews and was prepared for it to smell bad. They weren't kidding. It stunk. I swear it smelled like vomit. But that didn't stop me from using it up. It made my makeup last longer and took away the powdery look and left my skin looking dewy and glowy. When you first spray it on it'll make your face feel wet. Don't worry. It will dry soon and you'll love the results. Just don't touch your face until it dries. I used up the bottle and bought a new one at my local Target. This bottle has a TOTALLY different scent. It smells like cucumber/melon? Not like the one I ordered online at all! It works the same. Maybe ELF reformulated it? This product is worth trying. For a mere $3 you can't go wrong.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Michael O'Rourke Size Matters Big Volume Root Pump Spray
rated 5 of 5
axialmeow 4/7/2012 4:45:00 AM

I LOVE this stuff!!!! I usually buy sexy hair concepts, root pump plus at Marshalls or TJMaxx but they haven't had it for awhile. I saw this super cute, eye catching bottle and figured I'd give it a try. It works great! Gives my fine hair volume. It smells good too. Very fresh and girly. Sexy hair concepts scent always reminded me of cheap mens aftershave. I plan on stocking up on this stuff the next time I'm at Marshalls. I have no idea of who else carries it. If anyone knows please PM me.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Meow EDP by Katy Perry
rated 4 of 5

This smells sooooooo good!!! Fruity and creamy at the same time. It's really yummy. The bottle is adorable. But I am biased because I am a cat person. The lasting power isn't great. This seems more like a body spray then an EDP. I'll still repurchase because it smells so good while it does last.
