Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
awhellokitty 11/26/2009 3:07:00 PM
I love this gel-eyeliner gel! I have very oily eye lids, all other eyeliners I've used would last about two hours before smudging. Without fail, I would end up with panda eyes by the end of the day... But not with Fluidline. This stuff lasts and lasts. My liner now looks as fresh at the end of the day as it did in the morning. If I need it to last for more than the regular work day, I set the liner with some translucent powder. This extends the lines to 12 hours easily. As far as application goes, Fluidline goes on super smooth and dark. Dries instantaneously. Super versatile, you can make a thin line for everyday, or a more dramatic line for going out. I've also tried cheaper brands of gel liners. Wet 'n Wild makes a pretty good dupe, but it doesn't go on as dark as MAC. You may have to go over the line a few times to get a solid dark line. I'm sticking with MAC for sure!

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Bent Eyeliner Brush
awhellokitty 10/18/2009 3:07:00 PM
I bought this brush yesterday to use with my MAC gel eyeliner and totally love it! The bend made all the difference! It gives me much more precise control than a slanted flat liner brush. I could adjust the pressure to get a either think or thin line. A professional makeup artist that did my makeup last week used a similar brush from the Sephora professional line. I opted to buy the Sonia Kashuk version after seeing it at Target. I am so gald I did! Not only does the brush draws great lines, it also costs $11 less than the Sephora version. :-)

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Sheer Infusion Body Lotion
awhellokitty 10/4/2009 9:50:00 AM
I bought the vitamin burst variety and was pleasantly surprised. The lotion has a great texture and absored quickly into the skin. Leaves my skin feeling soft all day. It definitely works better (and feels better) than other lotions from the Vaseline brand. There are two things I wish Vaseline will improve though: the smell and the price. (1) This lotion has a strong frangrance and is a bit overwhelming in the morning. (2) At 7.99 for 6.8oz, it's steep for a drug store brand. Overall, I like this lotion a lot. And I will defintely buy again when I see it on sale.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Beauty Confidential Smoothing Face Primer
awhellokitty 10/4/2009 9:29:00 AM
It does what a primer should do. It helps makeup stays on your face. Texture of this product is quite pleasant and the pump makes application easy. But overall, this product is kind of "blah". It does an OK job, but nothing spectacular... I MAY buy it again if I can't find anything better. But in the mean time, I am not sold on it!

Treatments -Serious Skin Care - A-Primer w/Silicone
awhellokitty 10/4/2009 9:21:00 AM
This primer works OK. The instruction says "apply liberally to freshly cleansed and dry skin". Don't listening to that... Putting too much on made my makeup looked like a mask. I found less than a dime size amount of product will do. The only complaint I have with it is the funny shimmer in the product. Since you only have to use so little of this stuff, the shimmer hurts more than it helps. A-primer is an OK primer, but just OK. It smoothes skin and help makeup stays on the face for about half a day. Overall, nothing spectacular about this stuff. And at $22.50 a tube, you can probably find something that works better.

Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - Age Defying Instant Firming Face Primer for Normal/Combo Skin
awhellokitty 10/4/2009 9:11:00 AM
The texture of this primer is more watery than most other I've used. It's almost the consistency of a body lotion. It's quite moisturizing and OK on a dry skin day. But I can't really tell that it does anything as far as priming. It doesn't help color application or makeup stays on longer... Next time I see this in the drug store, I'll skip right over it and find another brand of primer.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Moisturizing Lotion
awhellokitty 10/3/2009 7:35:00 PM
I've been using this lotion on my face for about a year per advice from my dermatogolist. I have oily, sensitive skin that was impossible to deal with in the winter. CeraVe saves my skin! This lotion is basic and no frill. Doesn't feel especially elegant to use. But it does the job. It moisturizes well in the summer. In the winter months (Chicago winter...), I layer Clarins face oil over it. The only complaint I have with this lotion is the lack of sunscreen and anti-aging ingredients. But at $12.99 a bottle, I don't mind layering sunscreen and fancier lotions on it! I am sticking with this lotion for sure!

Mascara -Kiss Me - Kiss Me Mascara
awhellokitty 10/3/2009 1:14:00 PM
I am on my third tube. I have really greasy eyelids, and this is the only mascara I can use that doesn't give me racoon eyes by noon. I've tried all different kinds of mascara. Water-proof, lengthening, thinkening, cheap and expensive... you name it, I've tried it. This is truly the only mascara that stays put and lasts all day! Before using Blinc Kiss Me, I could never put mascara on my lower lashes. And now I do it everyday. ^_^ The only thing I think Blinc Kiss Me can improve is to make the product more of a thickening mascara. The mascara is a bit watery and doesn't do much to make the eyelashes look more lush... It is, however, a fabulous choice for the everyday natural look.

Primer/ Corrector -Avon - MagiX Face Perfector
awhellokitty 10/3/2009 1:02:00 PM
Best primer I've tried yet! I've been using this primer for about a month. It keeps my skin matte and makeup looking fresh. I apply about a dime size amount of product on my face before putting on liquid foundation and concealer. I also put it on my eye lids as eyeshadow primer. The color seems to stay longer that way. The only negative thing is that the primer doesn't really last 10 hours like Avon claims; but it does last me through most of my work day. Overall, it's a great deal at $7.99 (I bought on ebay), . Will definitely buy again! P.S.: I also bought the tinted version of Magix. It doesn't have quite the staying power of the original. It's also less product. I'd stick with the original Magix.
