Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is a godsend, pure and simple. I use this everyday and it has never failed me. In the morning and evenings I apply some witch hazel to a cotton bud and then 1 or two drops of tea tree and swipe it all over my face, it works wonders, and has the same general effect of Benzoyl Peroxide, but is more natural. 3 days a week I do a face mask consisting of 1 table spoon of honey and 3 drops of tea tree, and leave it on for 1 hour. If I have any stubborn spots I just dab a bit using a Qtip and the next morning its gone. I genuinely believe this is the best product I have used (and I've used many). My pores have pretty much dissapeared, my skin tone is much more even, my complexion brighter, and for the first time my skin is spot free. If your thinking of buying tea tree oil DO IT, dont think about it. Your skin will thank you. Make sure you moisturise after using it though, it can be very drying.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

I thought this would be similar to a tinted moisturiser, but alas I was wrong. It is not at all moisturising and is surprisingly thick and greasy. Im dissapointed in the colour as even with the light colourage it was still way too orange on my fair skin, and looked very noticeable. Whilst the coverage was quite good, I couldnt help but think it resembled a sheer foundation rather than a specialised tinted moisturiser. Overhall however, it was easy to apply and whilst it felt rather greasy, a bit of powder helped smooth out my face, it was long lasting, but does have a tendency to come off on clothes. I think this is a suitable product if you are not fair skinned and just want a decent, light all day coverage that doesnt feel heavy or clogs pores. If you are pale or fair skinned please dont buy this, it is very orange and really wont do you any favours.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Green Tea tea-bag toner

Every morning and evening I wash my face in pure green tea and rub the tea bag all over my face for good measure. It has done more over the last few weeks of constant use than any expensive product I have ever used. As a man I have to shave regularly and as I have extremely sensitive skin this can be a real nightmare for me. However, over the last few weeks my skin has been stronger and I have noticed less redness and razor burn/ bumps than I usually get, my skin also feels much more toned and strong. the only reason I started washing my face in green tea was because I didnt like the taste but still wanted my face to feel the benefits. Due to my very sensitive skin I know actually shave using water with green tea bags in it and it has made a massive difference. I have also noticed blemishes and spots have almost vanished. My skin does feel quite dry after using it but this can be simply stopped by using a good non fragranced moisteriser.

Powder -Boots - No7 Perfect Light Loose Powder
awc1993 11/1/2011 5:34:00 PM
Im surprised by the bad reviews. This powder is great at doing its job. It makes my foundation set perfectly and helps control shine. It doesnt cake or accenuate pores and has a very silky feel. The packaging is fantastic for controlling the product and I never have any problem with it. I only need to apply a little bit as obviously with any powder to much and it will cake. Discard the sponge you get with it though. Sponges are better if you want fuller coverage from powder but it will look cakey. Use a decent powder brush and brush it on lightly to set the foundation and give an even and silky finish.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse

Truly awful. Accenuates pores dramatically, feels and looks oily, makes my skin break out, awful coverage, cakes immediatly, rubs of very quickly and the pot is so unhygienic. Would never wear this again.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Maximum Coverage Foundation

Estee lauder maximum coverage lives up to its name. The coverage I got was incredible and I did not need to layer it, just a pea sized amount is all you need for the entire face. It did not oxidize and look orange and it matched my skin tone well as I am quite pale. The one criticism I do have is that this foundation is very hard to blend. Its incredibly thick and applying with a make brush was impossible so I had to use fingers. You have to be very fast when applying as it sets very quickly and its easy to see the dreaded streaks or finger marks. The best way in which I applied it was in stages I would mousterise my forehead and put the foundation on immediatly so I had enough slip to blend. The same applied for the rest of my face and neck by applying it in stages. This did take longer than usual to apply but with the right technique it is such a fantastic foundation. This also did not cause acne or spots. Putting to much of this can create a very mask like appearence and feels very heavy so be very conservative when applying as you really dont need much. Ive now started to use the double wear stay in place as it has better better slip and I no longer need full coverage. Those with rosacea, vitilgo, cystic acne, pygmentation or scarring will come to love this foundation as it really does cover everything.
