I agree with other reviewers that this mascara does clump extremely easy. I'm on my second bottle of this product because I love the tiny wand to separate lashes. It is a little flimsy, though. Because of the clumping, I just keep a tissue tucked away in my drawer and press my wand against it to help with the clumping. This mascara gets into your outside crease easily to help spread out those lashes in the outside corner. I will continue to use and keep my tissue handy. After about 2 weeks of use, you will no longer need your tissue.
I used this product for about two months, every night. The only difference I saw was that I didn't lose my lashes as much. I definitely didn't notice any difference in the length. I think they just looked fuller because you didn't lose as many.
I've been using this product for over a year now. Such a large bottle lasts a long time. I've just started my 3rd bottle. I do, however, only use this as a night cleanser. My face can feel a little tight sometimes after using the product, but always rinse well with a lot of water, and then use your night cream. I would never be able to use this morning and night. I usually just rinse with water in the morning and use my Biore warming cleanser in the shower twice a week (love it). I do not have trouble with breakouts, but the occasional monthly zit goes away nicely when used. This is a great cleanser for someone with oily skin. It will definitely help any breakouts someone has. For people with dry skin, you would want to stay away from this and use a cream cleanser. I have combo skin, and use at night only. Edit 8/23/10 I found that the more I used this cleanser, the oiler my face was. Don't overuse a product that makes your face feel tight after use. It will produce more oil, which is what happened. It is a great cleanser though for the ones who can use it. I'm 46 yo and it seems my skin changes yearly. I now use this 1-2 times a week just because it deep cleans, but that is all.
I love, love this product. I can't believe how good my skin feels after I cleanse my skin with this. I use this on my dry face, rinse it off, then use my Neoceuticals cleanser to get the remainder off. My skin feels soooo smooth afterwards. Has caused no breakouts and gets off all traces of my Shiseido 55+++ sunblock and makeup. Great product! It may seem weird to smooth this over your skin because it's oil. It took a couple of days to get use to it, having combo/oily skin. But I've read a lot of info on internet on how oils are good for a person with oily skin and prone to breakouts. Although I'm not prone to breakouts, I do get a couple of cystic acne a month around that time we ladies dread. I've been using for about five weeks, and no breakouts at all. I try not to review an item before a month, unless I absolutely hate it. But try this, your skin will thank you afterwards.
Like the reviewer below, I, too, get compliments from strangers. Although sometimes it can be a little freaky when men say you smell good and what are you wearing. This was given as a gift to me about 6 years ago from my sister-in-law and I've been wearing it ever since. My husband absolutely loves it and loves to smell my neck. He can tell right away if I forgot to put it on. Lovely light scent. A few quick squirts will last you the day. Go for the large bottle! You won't be disappointed!!!
Cleansers -Clinique - Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser
awaylett 5/20/2008 2:11:00 PM
I bought the whole redness line. What a disappointment. I used Clinique as a teen and in my early 20's, but as my skin has changed over the last 20 years, but skin regimen as had to change. Had high hopes for this, but would never repurchase. I have facial flushing due to rosecia, and this did nothing but sting my face all day long, along with the moisturizer. Horrible product!!!
This adds a really nice glow to your skin. You do have to be careful not to apply too much. It can look overdone and too shiny because of the mica. I just add it to the top of my cheek bones and only on the outsides of the cheeks. It gives a really nice look to your makeup. EDIT: 6/4/08: Took it back to the store. Decided I hated the mica in it. Shows any flaw you may have. As with all mineral makeup, if you don't have flawless skin, watch out. The mica in the minerals shows every flaw you have. I hate bare minerals!! I did keep it at two lippes, if you're young and flawless, this is for you!
Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Sun Wear Faces Daily Sunblock Lotion SPF 30

This is definitely not the same sunblock I used some time ago. I use to use this sunblock religiously while growing up, and even into my 30's. I loved the stuff, which used to be called Banana Boat For Faces Only. Obviously, the ingredients have changed. I went out and rebought this stuff after reading the glowing reviews here and on other websites. All this stuff did to me was burn my face. I have read where other viewers says it stings, but it stung my face all day long. I could not wait to get it off that afternoon. And oiliness, this is not mattifying at all and makes your skin even more oily. Also, the old bottle even stated that it was primarily for acne-prone skin, oil-free, non-comedegenic, hypoallergic. Not this bottle. I no longer have the bottle, but I don't think its non-comedegenic. This stuff was horrible and has already been returned. My high hopes for this were dashed after just one use. Could not stand the burning all day and the oiliness. If you want a good physical sunblock, try Colorescience Sunforgettable. It has 12% titanium dioxide and 12% zinc oxide and it's a mineral sunblock. You'll love that. See my review for sunforgettable.
Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser

I have a lot of redness to my skin, and this cleanser used along with the toleraine fluid has helped to calm down my skin. I went for my first IPL session a few days ago, and she could not believe how much my skin had calmed down. A month prior to my first session, the aesthetician had to do a skin test on me. IPL cannot safely be used on people with darker skin tones or tanned skins because of hypo-pigmentation issues. It had calmed so much within that month, she was able to go from 560 up to 515. Was very pleased about that. I also love the texture of this cleanser. You put a small dot in your hands and get in wet. When applied, it goes on like a cream which feels wonderful. Clean for about two minutes and rinse. Only does it foam when you rinse it with water. EDIT: I no longer use this product. It was a good product and did it's job, but I now use, along with my Shiseido Cleansing Oil, Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel. This combo works great for me, has helped with the oilies and no more zits, ever!!! (Been using this combo about four months and love)
I just bought this product a week ago. We were heading to the lake that weekend and I wanted a sunscreen with physical ingredients and came upon this on another website. How wonderful to have a mineral sunscreen that acts like a sunblock with the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (which by the way do not absorb into the skin, making it physical). So many sunscreens and sunblocks break me out. I did get a pimple, but I chalk it up to that time of month, which I get one every month. Anyway, while on the lake in the sun and wind, never even a sunburn, not even a slight redness to the cheeks. So far I really love this stuff. I bought the almost clear shade. It acts just like a mineral powder with the tint it has, so I can just apply my mineral blush on top of that. Will probably continue using my Neutrogena Dry Touch along with this on those scorching days in the sun. EDIT: Stopped using the product. Decided I hated the shininess of the product, plus it broke my skin out and clogged my pores. It now sits in my cabinet because it can't be returned. Bummer b/c it was so expensive.
Skincare - Face -Kinerase - Kinerase Clear Skin Blemish Dissolver

This is definitely no miracle potion, but is there one? If you're looking for an overnight miracle for cystic zits, this isn't for you. If you have the ocasional breakout like I do at that time of the month, this is a good product for those types of acne. What I do like most about it is that it isn't a cream and you can use it throughout the day. It goes on clear and dries clear. I liked it so much that I even bought one for my son. Much better than the Joey NY blemish stick. It can dry your skin, but doesn't all acne meds. Just moisturize those areas well.
As I've hit my peri-menopausal phase about a year ago, my skin has changed dramatically. I used this cleanser for years and just loved it. It made my skin feel so soft after usage. I noticed about six months ago that my skin after cleansing felt tight - you don't want that feeling from a cleanser - it's stripping your skin of its moisture. I knew I had started additional products, so maybe that was the cause of the problem. I didn't want to give up this cleanser because it had done me such good for so long. I did, however, figure that it was the cleanser that was stripping my skin. So I had to say goodbye to my HG cleanser. I now use Patricia Wexler's Universal Anti-Aging Cleanser. Oh my gosh how this stuff makes your face feel. I gave this two-lippies because I loved it for so long. I had very normal skin when I adored this product. My skin now is combination.
If you have combo skin, this is not for you. Feels like wax and goes on like wax. Maybe this would be good for just dry skin types, but none other. It only gets greasier as the day passes, and you can't wait to get home to wash your face at the end of the day. Seems a true NY dermatologist would realize this and reformulate this product. Maybe that's why so many still remain on the shelf at Bath and Body Works.
I love this cleanser. I love the feel, the creamy texture and how it leaves my skin feeling so clean. I'm on my second bottle of this and will continue to use it. I don't have any problems with this taking off my mascara though, but I don't wear waterproof either. You will love the texture of the cleanser. It's just like cleaning your face with a lotion, but you get all the benefits of a good cleanser - plus it includes olive oil to leave your skin so fresh and soft. At $16, I think it's a bargain for this excellent cleanser. Plus, the bottle is larger than the old one. EDIT: 9/26/08 No longer use this product. Now use Shiseido Cleansing Oil and Exuviance Purfiying Cleansing Gel. Great combo. Through trial and error with cleansers, I finally found the match, and it doesn't make my skin tight.
Eye Shadow -Pur Minerals - Smoky Quartz/Rose Quartz Duo
awaylett 12/7/2007 5:37:00 PM
This review is just for the single rose quartz eye shadow. I love this shadow. It stays put throughout the day, and I just love the color. No matter what you wear, it goes with everything. It feels good going on and it's easy to apply. Several really good shadow brushes in different sizes help with the application of shadow. Expensive, but worth it. Plus, the singles will last you a good 6-9 months. Can't go wrong there.
