Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash

Love this. I have oily skin that is prone to minor blockages etc, and this does a great job of preventing them while not scouring my face to shreds. It works better than other salicylic acid washes (St Ives, the normal Neutrogena orange stuff), and every time I run out of it, I have a mini-breakout.

Foundations -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Glow Sheers SPF 30

This is my current favorite--sheer enough to look natural, but just enough tint to even my skin out. The shimmer is unnecessary for a product marketed in the summer. I could do with less of it since I have oily skin and after a while I just look shiny. But it feels light going on, looks natural, has little to no scent, and provides good SPF 30 protection!!! I also appreciate the tube packaging as it makes applying very easy.

Just what everyone else said--it's strangely satisfying to pull out all those little columns of sebum. I'm constantly fighting the blackhead battle so I need that encouragement.

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Baby Blossom

It does look a lot like Benefit Dandelion, one of my staples. It was time to replace so I opted for this (the BOGOF didn't hurt either--I got Rosy Outlook, which I like a lot). Somewhat shimmery, and more like a highlighter than a true blush--in other words, just like Dandelion except for more portable packaging.

Looks very natural, especially in the wintertime when I am pale; works over other blushes or without. I'll never use up the whole box, but would buy again if I needed to.

Liquid -Bourjois - Happy Light [DISCONTINUED]

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I think $20 is a little much to pay for a TM, but I weakened and made a special trip to Sephora for this. I'm happy I did. I am using 10, Beige Clair. It blends well, evens out my skin tone, lasts most of hte day, and looks natural. It doesn't restrain the oilies, but then very little does on me. Would buy again, but am hoping to get a CP from a European swapper when I run out... or maybe by then I'll have gone myself!

Blush -Maybelline - Expert Wear Blush 'Precious Pink'
auroraleigh 8/1/2005 5:29:00 PM
I bought this blush on sale because of its unusual pink-orange color, which I was sure would not look good on me (a tiny bit more orange than Jane Blushing Earth). Much to my surprise, it does: after several strokes of the blush brush--my own, not the silly little one included in the package--I look delicately flushed and pretty. It stays on for a good amount of time.

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
auroraleigh 7/25/2005 12:10:00 PM
This showed up on me better than Nars Orgasm. The gold shimmer is present but pretty subtle (at least in comparison with products like Jane Blushing Glow/Earth), and the color looks quite natural on my face while still making me look lively. Long-lasting, a good amount in the pan.

I tried this on in Sephora this morning and am kicking myself for not having bought it. A neutral silver-beige color that brings out the brown in my eyes. It lasted all day, looked almost as nice at 4 as it did at 10. In the pan it looks very similar to Stila Cloud.

Blush -MAC - Trace Gold
auroraleigh 7/15/2005 5:26:00 PM
This does show up on me (NC 20 or thereabouts), and I like it. It has enough color that I can use it for a neutral blush on its own, using a big powder brush. It does magnify my pores, so I have to make sure that I've used a good tinted moisturizer beforehand. But when I do, the effect IS kind of glowy and pretty in an understated way.

Mascara -Pout - Mascara in Black
auroraleigh 7/15/2005 5:23:00 PM
I like the small brush, the gorgeous metallic tube, and the lightness of the mascara itself. It does take a long time to dry, but it's the only mascara I've used that goes on my lower lashes lightly enough for my tastes. It lengthens my uppers without looking clumpy. The real downside is the price--$16 at Sephora. I can't pay that much for a product I must replace every 3-4 months. Back to the drugstore for me!

Blush -Neutrogena - Blushing Mocha
auroraleigh 7/6/2005 10:44:00 AM
I bought this after reading recommendations here, and do not regret it! This is a natural-looking, highly pigmented yet neutral-colored blush. It's long-lasting on me and has comparatively little shimmer. The brush that comes with it is more generously sized than the usual d/s blush brush, so it's great for travel (though for home use I still prefer using a separate blush brush). Highly recommended!

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Luscious Curls
auroraleigh 6/20/2005 1:55:00 PM
Got a sample of this from Sephora, and it was all I needed. Great smell, no discernible effect on my thick, wavy-to-curly hair...from Fekkai I expected some HG product, but I get just as good effects from KMS curl balm and Marc Anthony curl enhancing lotion. will keep on looking!

Blush -Jane - Glow-Earth 01 Blush Duo
auroraleigh 6/20/2005 1:12:00 PM
A kind swapper CPed this for me, as Jane isn't available where I live. This looks quite natural on me (NC20, dark brown hair and eyes), though it is a tad more shimmery than I expected. Easy to use with a real blush brush (not the teensy one in the case)--I blend the two colors and then apply. Would definitely buy again.
