Makeup Brushes -MAC - 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush
audmac 6/9/2013 12:18:00 AM
Got this brush because the SA made it seem like a really great brush-multi-purpose and practical, and it looked pretty cool as well. First tried it for powder blush but wasnt impressed at all so it went into my back of the closet unloved brush jar for well over 6 months until I started using a new foundation, cream consistancy, which I decided would require a flat foundation brush. I figured Id give this a try before buying a new brush and was very pleased with it. It applied and blended well, there was no need to look any further, found the perfect brush for my needs :)

Hair Color -Revlon - Luxurious Colorsilk Buttercream Medium Brown
audmac 5/18/2013 4:03:00 PM
I was looking for a basic medium brown color to darken/cover up a recent dye job that was a little too light purpley red on the roots. I opted for this because the new formula sounded pretty good and it was only about five dollars. I was pleasantly surprised about the rich chocolate color that this turned out. It covered the other color well and my hair looked healthy and shiny and vibrant. Pretty impressed for such an inexpensive color. So far the rich color has lasted well thru several shampoos without fading. I will probably use this again when Im in need of a root touch up, which will probably be soon since my silvery gray roots grow in way too fast.

Cleansers -Tatcha - One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
audmac 4/27/2013 4:03:00 PM
Got a sample of this with my order and was very pleasantly surprised at how well it cleaned my face. It felt very soft and silky on my skin, not at all greasy or messy, removed all my makeup, rinsed off easily and left my face clean and soft. I am normally not a cleansing oil user but this has changed my mind!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
audmac 4/21/2013 5:34:00 PM
I swapped for this not expecting to like it but its become hg for me in my morning eye makeup routine. I use it as a primer+base, it evens out my redness and matches my skintone perfectly. My eyeshadow lasts all day just as it does with a good primer like udpp or tfsi. Prior to this I used illamasqua hollow in the same way but that color was actually not as good a color match to my skin as this is. This stuff is just the right consistancy - not too creamy and not too dry. Its wonderful and I will repurchase.

Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed for Normal or Combination Skin
audmac 4/21/2013 5:24:00 PM
I got a sample tube of this from a generous swapper and since i was almost out of my current cleanser i decided to give it a try. i was pleasantly surprised. it smells fresh- like one of the bbw or clean cotton scents. It foams up nicely, cleans and removes makeup well. My skin was clean and very soft after I used it. I may purchase the full size after I use this up.

Eye Shadow -Giorgio Armani - Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadow #4 Pulp Fiction
audmac 2/3/2013 11:06:00 AM
This was my first (and probably last) ETK eyeshatdow. I had high hopes for this and chose this particular color because I thought it would be a pretty taupey silver color with a little red mixed in, and also because Im a big fan of the movie-lol. I used it over a primer, applied with a cream shadow brush and was very disappointed with the results. Glittery fallout and it creased and faded pretty quickly. Also hard to blend. I tried applying with fingers the next time but no difference. The color showed up as only a glittery silver-not flattering at all. Im pretty turned off about ETKs as a whole but since Ive heard Loreal has good dupes I may try those in the future.

Primer/ Corrector -Murad - Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer-Dewy
audmac 12/30/2012 9:35:00 PM
Tried this for 2-3 weeks. The first week I was really impressed with the performance of this primer because it seemed to make my makeup last longer during the day and also I found that I needed to apply less foundation than usual because somehow this helped increase the coverage of my foundation. But by the end of the 2-3 weeks the benefits of this went away and it was just like any other primer, not worth the high price tag so I returned.

Palettes -Illamasqua - Neutral Palette - Human Fundamentalism
audmac 10/24/2012 7:13:00 PM
Got this palette a week ago because I loved Illas complement palette so much I had to try more. I was blown away by how gorg these colors looked on me when i wore them for the first time today. These are the best matte eyeshadows Ive ever worn- no chalkiness and excellent color payoff. The brown altho it looks plain in the compact turns out to be the prettiest mid - dark brown eyeshadow Ive ever encountered. The antiquey gold color is now my fav gold/bronzey color and I love it more than my prev fav similar color- half baked. This one blows 1/2b out of the water. I just want to toss half the colors in my naked palette now. I wont tho. LOL. The black shade is such a gorg pure rich black color. And the white is excellent as a base shade and as a highlighter too. These colors are extremely long lasting and havent creased after 12 hrs. I used Tartes Clean Slate™ 360° Creaseless 12-Hr Smoothing Eye Primer first (its my hg es primer) My look with this palette today was the white all over, brown in crease, gold on lid, black to line top and bottom lids and white again as highlighter and tear duct area. Cant wait to try other looks for this. Dont think Im jumping the gun when I say this is easily in my top 5 palettes ever.

Eyes -Illamasqua - Cream Pigment in Hollow
audmac 9/26/2012 11:44:00 PM
I have to say I was really impressed with this. Saw it used on Illas website in tuitorial video for the generation q look and ended up being able to swap for it. Im on the pale side and on me this is more of a my lids but better color rather than an obvious concealor color like uds eden primer potion which i have tried in the past. This stuff is great. it may look muddy and blah in the container but it is a wonderful product. I find that the amount used can make a difference- too much and it looks heavy and shadows crease over it after a very short time. So I use two swipes on my stila #2 brush and that is just the right amount of product to totally cover the reddish discolorations, look totally natural and keep my shadows on most of the day. Would definitely recommend and purchase again.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Milk Chocolate Soleil
audmac 9/16/2012 10:02:00 AM
Im fair skinned and this is the perfect color for me- its a natural looking bronzer with buildable coverage depending on the brush you use and how heavy handed you are. The smell is the clincher- its like hot cocoa- so yummy I get the urge to lick it but of course I wont. LOL.

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
audmac 9/16/2012 9:56:00 AM
Have to add my two cents about this stuff, jumping on the bandwagon quickly before it passes me by! I picked this up a couple days ago since I was almost out of my previous hg mascara - benefit's theyre real. I dont think Ive been this impressed by a mascara before EVER. I cant say enough good things about it- glossy black color, no flaking, no bad smell, holds a curl, no smudging, lasts all day, buildable, easy to remove, insanely lengthening, thickening, super inexpensive. did i miss anything? hope not. off to buy backups!

Blush -MAC - Blush Ombre - Ripe Peach [DISCONTINUED]
audmac 8/25/2012 4:38:00 PM
Aah, the elusive Ripe Peach that I have been hunting down for ages is finally mine- I was able to buy it from a sale recently. So Ive tried it several times and heres my thoughts.... Its NOT the end all be all of blushes, just a pretty peachy blush that is flattering on me. Its so nice to look at in the pan. I am confident I could find a dupe or get the same effect with other colors in my blush collection and/or with inexpensive alternatives. HOWEVER I am absolutely NOT parting with this rariety- I put so much effort into finding this that I am hanging on to it and enjoying its pretty hombreness!

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
audmac 8/25/2012 4:10:00 PM
Mine is like the third picture- mostly whitish with a little of the colored veining in it. It is pretty on- very natural highlighted look that I really like. This one and perfect topping are my fav highlighters and I alternate between them.

Blush -NARS - Angelika
audmac 7/31/2012 6:41:00 PM
This is a color that I never would have given a second look due to all its sparkliness which i normally avoid in a blush. However it is in my joie de vivre palette and I decided to try it out the other day because I wear gaiety almost daily and i wanted a change. I was so surprised in the best way how this blush looked on me. First of all no sparkliness at all- it must have come off in the air as i applied it with my mac 187 brush. Second it looked so natural and flattering and I didnt have to blend much at all. Wow- Im so impressed with this color and will be wearing it alot from now on! I am not good at describing the nuances of colors so id have to say to me it looks like a dusty cool pink and leave it at that. If I ever use it up in this palette I probably will buy it individually.
