Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Coralina

i NEVER buy ds blush, but this color was just too beautiful to pass up when i saw it. for the price, i figured even if i hate it, who cares? turns out, i LOVE this blush. the color is so unique and gorgeous. i was initially intimidated by how bright it looks in the pan, but it is very easy to control the amount you apply and is very easily blended. it adds a great, healthy color to my cheeks, especially in the summer. the packaging is the only downside, as the top tends to break very easily if dropped.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Dolce Pink
ativaneyes 11/4/2012 12:39:00 PM
i am a huge blush snob and have only used nars and mac for years. however, i saw some of these baked blushes at meijer while i was shopping and this shade and corralina (i think that's the name) just stood out to me so much, i had to try them. dolce pink is a beautiful, shimmery (not glittery, like nars' super orgasm) warm toned medium pink that looks amazing on my nc15-nc20 skin. i traditionally stick to corals and peaches for my cheeks, as i think that pinks look to fake or "doll-like" on my complexion, but this pink is amazing. it has very nice pigmentation, i only need a light swipe over the product to cover both of my cheeks. it's also easily blended and the shimmer is very subtle- it doesn't make me look oily or draw attention to my pores at all, it just gives a healthy glow. i think that this blush would look great on people with darker skin tones as well, and is appropriate for any age group. most importantly, though, it lasts just as long on my oil-slick of a face as any high end blush i've ever used. i generally put it on around 10 am and it still looks about 90% by the time i get home from school at 10 pm. if i use urban decay's setting spray or my muf hi-def finishing powder, it's even better. this is great for me, as my face is super oily. it has also never made me break out. the only thing that i don't like is the packaging. it looks fine and everything and actually include a little mirror, but one drop and the lid will break right off. i've had to super glue a couple of the clear middle parts back onto the gold outer part of the lids, but there really is no way to fix the hinge once it breaks, unfortunately. also, the brush it comes with is crap, but that's to be expected.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer

I'm giving this two lippies only because it really is velvety smooth and does make foundation application slightly easier and makes my pores less visible. that being said, every single time i have worn this, i have broken out with 1-4 huge, painful, deep cystic pimples. i know that it is this product causing the cysts because they occur within 1-3 days after wearing it and it was the only change on my makeup routine. not to mention, the cysts were mostly on my cheeks, where i NEVER, EVER get pimples. they take weeks to come to the surface and then leave a huge purplish dark blemish on my very fair skin. it's taken over six months of daily exfoliation and bi-weekly 20% salicylic acid peels for these bad boys to fade. i have learned my lesson and will never use silicone on my face again!

Treatments -Biore - Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips

while i agree with other comments about how the strips don't get all the blackheads, i have to say that i have never used any product that get rid of all of _____(insert whatever unwanted feature you want here). there's no such thing as a miracle product, and these things get my pores cleaner than anything else i've ever tried. i'm also grossly fascinated with the porcupine look of the strip after i remove it. i have some tips that make them work better for me: 1. exfoliate and shower or steam your face first 2. apply the strip (i cut a bit off the top since it hurts my eye area) and then take a wet washcloth to press down firmly. this makes sure the strip is saturated. 3. smooth out everything with your fingers 4. put your blow dryer on the cool setting and blow on the strip for a few minutes, periodically pressing down, to really set that bad boy and keep your pores open. 5. i leave mine on until it literally feels like a cast, longer than they suggest. then, i grab both sides wings and peel them toward the center at the same time, pulling up and out. at the bridge of your nose, pull away from your face. i would use them more often if they weren't so expensive. also, i wish they had larger ones for other parts because i get a lot of little blackheads around where my bra fits on my back and shoulders, but i;d go through like three boxes trying to get those.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
ativaneyes 7/10/2012 12:08:00 AM
honestly, this is hands-down my favorite mascara ever. i am a mascara junkie- i've tried all the other maybellines (falsies is HORRIBLE btw) along with every other ds brand, ud, mac, benefit, clinique, estee lauder and dior- and they all SUCK compared to this bad boy. i have naturally somewhat thicker and longer than average lashes to begin with, but this mascara really plays them up. i get compliments and people asking if i got lash extensions regularly. i start at the very base and wiggle the brush all the way up to the tips of my lashes, move over and repeat until all my lashes are covered, then i go back and repeat until theyre all thick and perfectly separated. it never clumps, although i have had minor smudging issues on my lower lashes on the side of my face where my long side bangs are.
