Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Buffing Brush

If you're considering this brush for liquid/cream foundations or BB creams, buy it. Buy it now. I originally bought the expert face brush based on reviews for my foundation application. It is a really nice brush but I just wasn't getting the result I wanted. So I went ahead and bought the collection that has the buffing brush. This brush is incredible and definitely worth buying, even if you have to get the collection for it. It applies liquids like a dream. The brush doesn't hold onto the makeup, unlike the expert face brush, which made my brush feel almost damp with makeup as I applied it. With this brush, the makeup stays on your skin and it gives you an incredible finish. It's a light, undetectable finish. If you need heavy coverage you can apply layers without it looking cakey or obvious. This brush is just, unbelievably good. I have been using it for two weeks and have already ordered a second from iHerb because I know I will use it that much. Please, just, buy it. Best makeup brush I have ever used.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Rosewater
rated 5 of 5
asukadoll 3/16/2013 8:36:00 PM

Rosewater is a fantastic toner for any skin type. When I was on BCP I had very dry skin, and using rosewater as a toner helped control my skins dryness and I never again experienced flaking bits around my nose, etc, when wearing makeup. Your skin will feel smooth, supple and velvety, it's amazing! Once I stopped taking BCP my skin became oily and very prone to hormonal/cystic acne. I continue to use rosewater everyday and it helps calm my skin after using harsh acne-fighting products. Some days I take a break from acne-fighting products and just cleanse, spray on some rosewater and let my skin breathe. It helps reduce redness and dryness from acne products. This stuff is miraculous and will work for ANY skin type. Get some. Now!

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Matte 903C Just Peachy
rated 5 of 5

Love love LOVE! I am soo happy I discovered Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks from MUA. The Mega Last matte lipsticks from WNW are outstanding. For $2 or so, these lipsticks are comparable to the best lipsticks, for which you would pay about 20x the price. These lipsticks are perfectly matte, no shimmer or shine, but are super moisturising and glide on perfectly. Just Peachy is the best peach lip colour I have come across. It looks so vibrant on, and would suit almost any skin type. This is an absolute staple! Must try for the price and I guarantee you will be converted.

Blush -New York Color - Central Park Pink 655B
rated 4 of 5

I'm so surprised at the average reviews - I love this blush! This blush by NYC is in the 'Cheek Glow' range, and that is exactly what it does, gives you a beautiful, healthy glow. This colour is more peachy, but it is not overbearing. I own many blushes and try to mix it up depending on season, etc, but I always find myself reaching for this one. At $3 or so, I highly recommend it. Whilst the packaging is horrible, what can you expect from something this cheap (why I deducted a star). Basically, I wouldn't be throwing it around, but other than the cheap packaging this is the most gorgeous blush ever which gives you a beautiful GLOW!

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label
rated 5 of 5

If I had to live with one product only, this would be it. I have tried a few different BB Creams, but after thorough research I decided to buy this Skin79 BB cream, and it is the one for me! I have dry skin with hormonal acne (chin acne), so I purchased this product because it was marketed for drier skin, with whitening and brightening properties. The cream is quite thick, and it is best to blend in with your fingers. Immediately the cream gives your skin a subtle glow and evens out your skin tone and texture. It only comes in one shade, but if you apply sparingly, and then go over troubled areas for a second layer, you won't get a grey-ish caste - start with less and add more. It oxidises with your skin after a minute or two. I wear this everyday as my face makeup, and never use foundation because this is all I need. I would recommend setting the cream with a powder, as it can get oily throughout the day, especially around the nose, etc. However, if you are looking for something that just evens out your skin and gives you a light, but no-makeup coverage, this is it. It won't cover blemishes, like pimples, but I like the natural look, and I always get compliments that my skin looks 'glowing' or 'radiant'. As a base, it evens out my skin tone and texture and makes foundation over the top look even better. Fantastic product, particularly for dry skin. I will never stop using this!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5

Amazing product! My skin is dry and sensitive, and in the past all my foundations would flake off and accentuate my dry areas. After doing some research I decided to buy this foundation in the normal/dry formula. The liquid dries quite quickly once on the skin, however if you apply this foundation with a stippling brush and use the stippling technique, you WILL get a flawless, airbrushed look. One layer looks quite natural, but does provide coverage. You can easily build it up to a full coverage if you wish. I have found myself using this as my primary foundation for all occasions, from everyday to going out full-face look. This is the best drugstore foundation. ever.

Crème -Rimmel - Match Perfection Cream Gel

Bought this product after reading amazing reviews, and I must say, this product truely does deserve amazing reviews! The creme foundation comes in a small round tub, for the price it seems a little bit of a rip off, however you really don't need a lot of this product to get fantastic coverage. When I first put it on, it looked a little orange and thick, I was a little worried. However, after a few minutes, I don't know what it does, haha, but it just sinks into your skin and moulds to your skin colour, and looks so so amazing! It's really fantastic, definitely recommend this product! Just give it a minute or two after you apply it, and don't use too much, and you will be impressed :)

Bronzers -Maybelline - fit me bronzer/golden tan
rated 1 of 5
asukadoll 11/5/2011 3:18:00 AM

I was recommened this by the shop assistant at Priceline. It is extremely difficult to actually get the product onto a brush.. I found I had to put layers and layers on just to see a slight difference, but really no difference at all. Would NOT recommend, really not worth it at all, unless you want a very VERY light and hardly noticeable bronzer.

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy

I love this perfume, I continue to repurchase as everyone recognises it as my scent! I love it, I always get complimented on smelling nice. Although, it doesn't last very long, maybe 2-3 months, because it requires a few sprays everywhere to really get that scent. But still, always repurchase, gorgeous packaging, smells divine! Loveeeee

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

Not the best liquid foundation, in my opinion.. The formula has some sort of light-reflecting pigments in it, supposed to reflect from camera flashes, I think (not all that certain). But it does have a sort of shimmer to it, some people might like this, some might not. I found it a little too glimmery for my own liking. The biggest downside to the product is how dewy and wet my face looked after I put it on, I felt like you could draw a picture in my skin, haha, it looked like my skin was moist and in summer this is not an attractive look. Even with a setting powder I still felt like my skin look sticky - egh. Howeverrr, it does give a good coverage and looks very even on the skin. Unfortunately, cons outweigh the pros for this foundation for me. Wouldn't buy again.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
rated 5 of 5
asukadoll 12/17/2010 12:35:00 AM

Beautiful foundation! I bought this product after spending all day in the makeup departments trying to find a compact foundation that I liked. The price (in comparison to more high-end products) and the fact it is hypoallergenic and good for sensitive and acne prone skin ultimately won me over. The compact itself is pretty eh, not all that attractive, but it does come with a decent mirror which is handy, but the brush it comes with is terrible. When I used my powder foundation brush on it, however, I had to dip it into the product instead of swirl, as I learnt, because if you swirl the product goes everywhere and you end up with a heap of excess, so tip: dip, don't swirl. When I put it on I found the first layer of coverage was pretty, it covered lightly, would make a very good finishing powder ontop of liquid foundation, my skin sort of glowed, but I didn't get that matte look. So I put on another layer. This product has amazing build-ability, you can go from light coverage to matte finish. I'm wearing this during Summer and so far it hasn't become oily or dried out my skin. May need to touch up once or twice during the day, but I expect that from a powder foundation. Will buy again! <3
