Of all the mascaras I've tried, I definitely found myself continuously grabbing this one. This mascara holds a curl very well, is waterproof, lengthens, and volumizes - the main things I look for in a mascara. I also have extremely oily skin, including above and below my eye, which tends to cause smudging when I wear most mascaras. This particular mascara does still smudge for me a bit, but not as bad as the other ones that I've tried. Still on the lookout for one that won't smudge, but so far, loving this one.
When looking for a mascara, I look for how well it volumizes, holds a curl, and lengthens, and this mascara only lengthens. It smudges a little bit for me as my skin is oily everywhere (including above and below the eyes), does not volumize as well as other mascaras that I've tried, and leaves a brittle-like texture after it has dried. This mascara also does not hold a curl. I will not be repurchasing this product - I even returned it because it was relatively more expensive than other drug store mascaras.
Because I am extremely acne-prone, I generally do not repurchase products that break me out. Application - Glides on extremely easily, and extremely blendable. I've used it with my fingers or a paddle brush, or even a drug store sponge, and it has not left streaks. Wear - This product doesn't last long. For my extremely oily skin, it takes about 2-3 hours for my oils to peek through even after setting it with a powder (Tarte Smooth Operator). The foundation also starts slipping, and I start to get that dewy-look that I try to avoid. Color - Absolutely love the NC30 shade, and matches my yellow-toned skin quite well. This has definitely been the factor that has made me try to forget that this product does indeed break me out.
I got to try this product in a sample I received from Clinique. I used this mascara for so long, and decided to avoid the fact that it still left smudges under my eyes after a few hours (please note that I have extremely oily skin). It definitely does give the lashes more volume, while still holding the curl, but I would not pay full price for this mascara, because of the smudging.
The first time I opened the falsies mascara and used it, I noticed that it definitely volumized my eyelashes, and held the curl, and was not clumpy. After using it a few times, I noticed that the wand started to have more product on it, which then led to a bit more clumping when applied onto the eyelashes. I also have extremely oily skin/eyelids, which left smudges under my eyes within an hour or two. I have not tried the waterproof one, but would look into trying that one instead if you do have oily skin.
