Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
ashtraygirl11 12/26/2008 10:54:00 PM
Nothing really dramatic about this moisturizer. I bought it cause so many magazines were raving about it, so I just wanna know what the fuss it's about. I do like the pump and the packaging it's pretty with the yellow color of the moisturizer. The price is cheap and ultimately it's a pretty decent moisturizer-nice consistency and texture. It absorbs pretty quick. It's definitely not enough for winter weather and it doesn't even out skin tone, or give radiance to my skin. What I'm trying to say I guess, it does the basic job of what a moisturizer supposed to do. If you're on a budget and just want something basic, I'd recommend this.

Scrubs -Laura Mercier - Face Polish
ashtraygirl11 6/25/2008 2:18:00 PM
I got this product as a sample from Laura Mercier and after using it for a few times, I was hooked!! This is the best scrub ever. The grain is very fine, so it's definitely gentle on your skin and I like the creamy texture of it. I can feel immediately how soft my skin is after. It smells awesome too. I love the packaging and I think the price is just a little bit more expensive, but it's totally worth it. You just need a little bit, it goes a long way and you only need to use it once to twice a week.

Concealers -Stila - Perfecting Concealer
ashtraygirl11 11/7/2007 3:18:00 AM
I'm ready to leave my perfectly working Clinique concealer to try something new. My eyes landed on this brand spankin' new concealer line from Stila. I got it from one of their promotion deals, where for $30 I got the concealer in shade C, a short concealer brush, 1oz illuminating tinted moisturizer, and 24ml. all over shimmer.
I'm glad cause the shade concealer that came with the package is the perfect shade for me and without the promotion, the concealer itself is $20. So I was getting a really good deal.
It covers blemishes really good though I wish it has some acne solutions to cover and yet heal. It's supposed to be able to cover dark circles underneath the eyes. I did try once when I had some dark area to be covered. It didn't cover completely though it did make it less noticeable. I lost the brush and I've been using my finger. It's working just fine.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Bronzer Brush
ashtraygirl11 11/7/2007 2:48:00 AM
When I'm determined to do something, I'm gonna do it all the way. If I want to use a bronzer, I have to have the right brush for it. I picked up Sephora Professional Platinum bronzer brush #48. I was contemplating if I should get that or looked for something else that's a bit cheaper. $35 for a brush? Wow, I'm choking over here.
But, I gotta say it's one hella good brush. The hair is soooo full and soft. It applied my bronzer perfectly on my skin. It's a bit chunky and has a short handle, but it doesn't bother me that much. It's not a must-have, though I would say it's a one good investment.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
ashtraygirl11 11/7/2007 2:34:00 AM
This is the first primer I've purchased and I'm completely satisfied with it. I like the fact it's just like a regular moisturizer. It doesn't have a shade cause I like my foundation and I don't want to make it too heavy with putting on a primer that has color shades.
I usually put my moisturizer first, though you technically could put the primer without it. I just like the extra protection. My make-up stays on my face all day. It feels nice not having my make-up's running on my face anymore.
I'm just a little sad, this primer doesn't really work for eyes, but other than that, it is definitely a keeper, though next time I think I'm gonna get the oil-free version.

Bronzers -Sugar Cosmetics - Tropic Tan Bronzer/Shimmer Duo
ashtraygirl11 11/7/2007 1:52:00 AM
I've never had a bronzer before in fear of my face becoming brown compare to the rest of my skin, or worse, orange. But damn, those ladies look amazingly radiant with their sun-kissed face. So there I was, at Sephora, picking my first bronzer.
I was picking between Nars, Lorac, and Sugar. I honestly not a big fan of Sugar make-ups. It seems their products are more teenager-ish, must be the packaging. I like my make-up now more subtle with 'grown-up' packaging though I like the wittiness of Benefit's.
Anyway, I was surprise when the color came out very nice. Suddenly I was a believer in the power of bronzer. My skin looks sun-kissed and luminous. It's not too dark and definitely doesn't make me look orange. I have a medium skin tone. I highly recommend this one and you will look like summer all year long.

Toners -C.O. Bigelow - Rose Water Skin Tonic
ashtraygirl11 4/7/2007 2:00:00 PM
I usually use the Triple Rose Water but they didn't have it so I decided to grab this one. I thought it was pretty much the same thing. Well it was, but this toner has alcohol in the ingredients. Not a big fan. Honestly, I was a little skeptic this toner would dry my skin out. Fortunately, my skin doesn't dry out at all. It smells good and gives me this fresh feeling.
The price is pretty reasonable. $24 you get this big ass bottle that will last you forever! Well as sonn as I'm done with it, either I go back to Triple Rose Water or try another toner.

Cleansers -Caudalie - Gentle Cleanser

I'm in LOVE with this cleanser. It's so gentle and yet, do a very good job of cleaning. I love the smell too! My skin is so soft and smells good =) I know the price is a lot high than what I usually spent on face cleanser, but I think it's worth it.

Concealers -Smashbox - Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer
ashtraygirl11 4/7/2007 1:44:00 PM
I bought this concealer cause I wanted to try something different as I was running out of my Clinique concealer. I thought, 'hey it wouldn't hurt to give this little fella a try.' The shade that the SA recommended me was a little too light for my facial skin tone. The stick I think was too big cause I only need to cover small areas. It didn't do a good job of covering either. A little disappointed, so I took it back to Sephora.

Concealers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Concealer
ashtraygirl11 4/7/2007 1:36:00 PM
Believe it or not, this is the first concealer I've ever bought and it works!! Before, I relied too much on my foundation but nobody skin is perfect. Sometimes I have break out that my foundation can't cover very well. I was always skeptical about concealers. I don't know why, but I'm glad I was giving this a chance. It comes in 3 shades. I use number 2 which matches my skin perfectly and covers my blemishes like oh-so-amazing. The best thing about this, while it covers blemishes, it also works against acne problems. The price is average, I think, compare to some other leading brands and it will last you for quite a while. A great investment!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
ashtraygirl11 4/6/2007 4:08:00 PM
Who doesn't like Orgasm? I mean Nars blush. I forgot how good this blush is! I'm usually not too fond of pink/red blush but the pink shade of Orgasm is just perfect. It gives a little shimmer too, which is nice. I feel so purrrty!
Not a big fan of the case cause the shimmer sticks around and rub off to everything that touches it pretty much.

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
ashtraygirl11 4/6/2007 3:56:00 PM
I just bought this product yesterday and so far, I'm very pleased. It's really light and can be used underneath your foundation. My foundation isn't a heavy one, so it works out pretty well cause the last thing I want is to look like a manneguin.
At first I couldn't really see the dewy finish but later during the day my face looked radiant! I guess the trick is to put it really lightly on your face cause you want to look glowy, not greasy by the end of the day.
I like the packaging. The tube is very convenient, just be careful not to squeeze out too much cause you can't put it back! I think the price is pretty reasonable. I don't know. I guess I'm just used to with all Stila prices. I love their products!!

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
ashtraygirl11 2/27/2007 4:56:00 PM
I got this curler a long time ago and probably one of my old items that I'm still using, which says alot about the quality! It does what it's supposed to do and that's all I care about! $18 is so worth it for this long lasting product.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
ashtraygirl11 2/27/2007 4:44:00 PM
I have high hopes for this product but any skin care product other than facial wash, I usually too flaky to use it regularly. I used this for about 2 weeks and did nothing but drying the hell out of my skin! I tried to use it every other day since then, still dry and I started to use it less and less until now, I don't use it at all.
Somehow I wonder if I stick through the dryness, this product will work like it's supposed to. Hmm...
The price is pretty reasonable but buying something from an infomercial always worries me. This is the only product I've ever got. Thank god it wasn't a scam or something like that.

Liquid -Lancome - Color ID
ashtraygirl11 2/24/2007 4:05:00 PM
I usually use Stila Illuminating but I decided to try something new. I asked the MA what would be something similar cause I don't want a heavy foundation. She recommended me this and I do like how it feels on my skin.
It gives me this smooth feeling and it blends and covers very well. The only thing, the MA recommended me I-50N and I think that's a little bit too light for me. When I just put it on, I look a little bit pale. Maybe when I finish with this bottle I should get one color darker.
I still don't know if I should keep using this or stick with my Stila.
