Hair Color -Garnier - Olia

Olia is in pretty, attractive packaging, promising you ammonia free color and healthy hair. I didn't have the negative experience on the 1 star reviews, but it hardly changed the tones on my brown hair. I bought the light natural auburn and the photos for medium/dark brown seemed significantly lighter than the tones I got. I also had some highlights that had been dyed over and then faded again, so my hair wasn't even that dark in places. Had my hair been its natural almost black brown, I doubt it would have done anything. It didn't do much of anything at my roots. I am probably the 50th person to say this, but I ignored the negative reviews on here because I've never had box hair dye that was REALLY awful. Normally, I believe most problems are user error. However, this hardly did a thing on my hair, and for $9.99, the higher end of the box dyes (the highest I saw in the store being 16-ish), I would expect more vibrant results for the price I paid. It's not so bad it's extremely distressing because it's an easy fix with some quality dye, but I would NOT buy this product again for any reason. For the record, the one I used was 6.43 Light Natural Auburn.

Mascara -MAC - Haute & Naughty Lash
ashleyford 3/19/2012 11:18:00 PM
I'm pretty picky about my mascaras, but this one is really amazing. The tube opens up in two spots, one for a lighter mascara (good for the daytime, school/work if you want a conservative look) and one for a nice dramatic look. Lasts all day, washes off when I want it to, pretty packaging... not looking for much more than that. I'd buy it again as long as I had the cash, sometimes I'm not financially able to go to the MAC counter and buy everything I want, but I was glad I had a little extra money saved up and got to try this mascara now that I know how much I love it. What else can you ask for as far as mascara goes?

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume

My favorite drugstore mascara! Goes on well, gives me amazing results, no problem with it lasting... it's not very waterproof but it doesn't claim to be and I don't expect it. I love it! Much better than the other Cover Girl mascaras in the lash blast line that I've tried. Wonderful! I also have a couple other friends who have tried this who aren't on MUA, and they all love it too! :) I don't find many people who don't really love this mascara once they try it.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion

Hmm.. I have had much better mascara, but I've also had much worse. It does put black on your eyes, it does thicken and lengthen just a LITTLE bit of each... but I like a LOT of length and volume. I actually have the Lash Blash Volume which is my FAVORITE mascara. I saw this one was a combo of length *and* volume and I got super excited thinking maybe there was possibly a better drug store mascara! No... I was disappointed. It seems pretty good for an average every day mascara, but it's not lengthening or volumizing enough for a night out on the town, in my opinion. It's a nice "sitting at work in neutral eyeshadow and light foundation, clear lipgloss" very conservative makeup look. I like very flashy pretty eyes so this just wasn't enough. If you just want a tiny something extra and want very conservative makeup, this would probably be a great mascara for you.

Liquid -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup

This really isn't bad foundation as cheap as it is. I don't think it has extreme lasting power, but if I set it with powder, it lasts me decently well throughout a work shift which is usually 6-7 hours, so I'm okay with that for a cheap drugstore foundation. It feels almost like a tinted moisturizer would, it's very light and not cakey feeling. I have used it before and if I remember right, my oily skin isn't too terribly irritated by it. It's definitely a good buy if you want something casually lighter once in a while and you're not expecting miracles as far as longevity of its wear. I also say it's maybe... mid-coverage, ish. It definitely won't cover bright red bumps or anything large, definitely NO beauty marks or anything, but it will help minimize redness... so if you don't have large bumps, just some redness, this would probably be perfect foundation for you. As far as buying this product again, this is actually a review I thought to do the second time buying it. While I don't use it every day, I can also say the packaging is sound and the foundation lasts if you don't use it that often, my first container I had for a little over a year and it never dried up or seemed to work any less efficiently. Not a bad foundation for a drug store find... don't expect makeup counter results, but it does it's job decently. It's not one of those you angrily throw away because it's not worth going all the way back to the store for a return.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
ashleyford 2/17/2012 3:10:00 PM
I'd use this for regular every day eyeliner, but for me, it wasn't a consistency for "wings" or cat eyes or cool designs. It was really REALLY thick and almost clumpy? Actually it was clumpy at times if I was trying to use it for designs. I wouldn't use this for designs or anything because it's simply not fluid enough ... that's what I get for expecting that when I bought it online and couldn't feel the texture for myself. I just expected the "fluidline gel" to be more fluid than it is. I was only happy with it for regular eyeliner... that it was good for, it set quickly and you can easily do it very thin or thick. But I was looking for something to do really exotic different eyeliner designs with and this wasn't it. :(

Skincare - Body -Sally Hansen - Naturally Bare Honey Wax
ashleyford 9/9/2011 2:36:00 PM
this product worked fairly decently once i got the hang of the plastic strips and the fact that you literally have to put the thinnest amount of wax possible for it to remove the hairs... but by the time i got the hang of it, i was out of strips. i hope they start to include a bigger roll of strips or something... i only got from the knee down waxed on ONE leg. i wouldn't mind buying this again because i like that it washes off with water (unlike the parissa wax i tried the other week that was SUPER messy) but i'd stop by sally beauty supply and buy extra strips or something....
