Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lip Shine- 553A Au Naturel
ashleycat 5/19/2010 4:31:00 PM
I was hesitant to get this because i'm not a fan of the texture of lipgloss but the price and the beautiful color convinced me to get it. Used alone the color doesn't make my lips look neutral or "au naturel" at all, they look really pink which is a bummer but if i dab a little concealer on my lips first then apply the color its so awesome its exactly the color i was looking for and it makes it lasts longer. But thats where the good ends... Everything I hate about lipgloss... the texture, the smell and the way it never lasts is true about this one. No matter how much i put on it feels thick and sticky and it never stays on. I have to wipe off the remainder then reapply constantly. Don't even think about drinking unless you want it on your straw or cup! The smell isn't terrible but it reminds me of the smell that kid makeup has. Overall, i'd say even though i adore the color, it's just a hassle. If you can put up with the so-so quality, get it! and because it is cheap so you won't feel bad for ditching it if you hate it! I'll probably use it until its out then never repurchase.

Conditioner -Garnier - Fortifying Cream Conditioner For Dry Or Damaged Hair
ashleycat 5/19/2010 3:52:00 PM
I have an oily scalp and dry ends so i'm always trying to find that one product that will just take care of both problems. Unfortunately, this was not it for me.This conditioner does condition my hair a little bit, but it leaves my hair feeling really weighed down. I didn't see an improvement in damage at all. It also left my hair frizzy when just towel-dried which rarely happens! It was just nothing special for me and i'm sure I've tried a handful that work way better.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
ashleycat 5/19/2010 3:20:00 PM
This is one of my favorite drugstore foundations! I get it in w4 (or w5 in the summer) and i have yellow undertones. I find usually when i get makeup for yellow undertones it makes me look way too yellow so i tried out a shade in neutral first (N4 i think) but i love this one better because it really has come the closest to matching my skin tone. I usually have really oily skin, so it glides and disappears perfectly. I love that its lightweight and I don't get that pancake face with this, but some days my skin will be really dry and i can't use this foundation without a moisturizer first or i'll look cakey :( but a major plus is that it doesn't make me break out! I've even left it on while at the gym a few times and I don't break out! Its pretty cheap too compared to other foundations. Bottom line: great light-med coverage foundation for oily skin with great color choices

Concealers -New York Color - Concealer Stick

Got this in yellow for my dark circles but hated this concealer... if you're thinking of getting this, don't! Because its only like 2 bucks, i'd normally say try it out, it might work, but i know it will do nothing for you so don't bother! Its thick, cakey and doesn't stay put (especially with oily skin). If only makeup could be this cheap and actually work!

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Bronze Glow

pretty good considering its really cheap I love that its matte and I don't look shiny and orange after using this! its really pigmented so a little goes a long way. It does last a really long time so its totally worth a try because its just so darn cheap! (i think i picked it up for less than 2 bucks) I think it could be great, just not on me... I have yellow undertones and its a bit too dark and a bit red for me for a bronzer so i use it sometimes for contouring and i like it a lot better for that! i only use a very tiny amount and it looks nice, but i'll have to try out the other color combos they have because I do like the texture and quality. If you're a medium to dark complexion, i'd say it would be fine for you but med-light to fair skip this one!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
ashleycat 5/19/2010 5:06:00 AM
My 2 sisters swear by this mascara so I had to give it a try. My lashes are pretty long naturally but not that full so i thought this would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, this mascara was nothing special to me... It was a little clumpy but nothing terrible. It didn't smudge or flake so that was a plus too, but I just didn't get the dramatic lashes I wanted. I did use it until I ran out and literally the very same day I went back to my favorite mascara (great lash) I received compliments on how long and full my lashes looked!I really wanted to like this mascara, but it was just so-so for me :(

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Volume Booster Liquid Bodifying Glaze
ashleycat 5/19/2010 4:52:00 AM
I really like this product and it is my favorite volume product i have tried. The first time I used it I went crazy and sprayed a TON in my hair and it made my hair... not crunchy-- but kind of rough and dry, so remember a little goes a long way! Now I use much less and the dryness is only slight but compared to other volumizing products, its a big improvement from that crunchy sticky feeling they give you. I don't think ill ever go back to any other product, this is my must have!

Hair -Aussie - Volume shampoo
ashleycat 5/19/2010 4:28:00 AM
I have thin lifeless hair that gets noticeably oily in about 14 hours :( But only my scalp... the rest of my hair tends to be dry so I usually buy moisturizing shampoos/conditioners which help with the dryness but I feel like I have to wash it so often for it to feel clean. For some reason it never crossed my mind to use volume shampoo because I was always thinking about my dry hair, so I usually style and tease like crazy to get some average volume that falls flat throughout the day. Immediately after using this I knew I loved it. It really does give me amazing, lasting volume paired with the conditioner, a hairdryer and a little chi volume booster. No more teasing! Oh and it cleans my hair so well and smells good. I never realized how much build-up i was getting from other shampoos until I used this-- it was weighing my hair down so much! It didn't dry my hair out at all either, it actually feels moisturized, really soft, looks healthier, and it doesn't get as oily as before. Even 24 hours later my hair still looks clean which is amazing for me. I recommend this to anyone with oily limp hair because it has really worked for me. The only thing I dislike about this is that the cap on top is difficult to open, but thats definitely not a deal-breaker for me :)

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Vive Pro Hydra Gloss Moisturizing Shampoo With Royal Jelly for Very Dry Hair
ashleycat 1/14/2010 3:39:00 PM
i first bought the hydra gloss conditioner on its own and after having great results i purchased the shampoo and was not disappointed. It smells really nice, lasts a while, and makes my hair shiny & soft. I don't think the shampoo is as effective on its own like the conditioner though, so i recommend using both or if you have a favorite shampoo, stick to it and just get the hydra gloss conditioner.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
ashleycat 1/14/2010 5:46:00 AM
i've never written a product review in my life but i really felt compelled to do so for this product... first i'll start by saying i have struggled with my oily acne-prone skin for a LONG time and i've tried all types of scrubs, peels, washes, masks.. from clean and clear, biore, clinique, murad, proactiv, to clearasil... you get the point! NOTHING ever seemed to work. So when i saw this at the store it was really cheap and i figured nothing usually works anyway, so what the heck! I've tried the renew or restore by st. ives before, so i was skeptical because it did nothing for me but i was willing to try anything. The first time i used it my skin felt immediately softer! (Its little rough compared to the other scrubs and "micro-bead" cleaners out there so you shouldnt scrub very hard) And i liked the fragrance-- it doesn't smell like medicine. I use it nightly, and sometimes after the gym and it has really cleared my skin up! First I noticed my pre-existing acne cleared up but kept feeling like maybe it was a fluke and my skin would flair up again but it didn't and it hasn't!! I've been using it for a few months now and i think i've only had like 3 pimples if that?? which is wonderful for me because i used to break out ALL the TIME! Oh and i've always had large pores on my nose and on the sides of my nose on my cheeks, and they're a popular spot for blackheads to hang out at for me but those have really disappeared too! I'm having great success with this product!! It is now my must-have. I'm not sure its right for someone that has normal skin because it does seem harsh and it does contain salicyclic acid.. its medicated people! if you don't have a cough, you don't take cough medicine, right?! So if you don't have acne, why use a face scrub for it? Bottom line: i'd highly recommend this for blemish/blackhead sufferers and people with oily skin.
