Concealers -Physicians Formula - Conceal RX
arabprincesa 7/23/2009 5:11:00 AM
Bought this a while ago to conceal acne marks, but i need to moisturize a whole lot so it didn't flaky. I was pretty surprised with the color because even though I basically grabbed one at random (i have that bad habit with DS makeup), it blended pretty well with my skin. This concealer is REALLY pigmented. You don't need a lot of product, and you definitely need to use a light hand. I actually loved this provided such full coverage - it's a concealer, that's what it supposed to do, yet in my experience many other DS concealers just do not. I wouldn't repurchase because I barely use it anymore (acne cleared up :) ) I use it so sparingly I doubt I'll finish the tube. Not sure if this is something you could use under your eyes, but I'm not sure why'd you want to...it's so thick it's bound to look unnatural.

Bronzers -Urban Decay - Gilded
arabprincesa 7/15/2009 4:59:00 AM
This came in the cutest little package at sephora - looked exactly like a cupcake! That's probably what attracted me to it in the first place. The color of the bronzer is also gorgeous in in the packaging...lot's of golds, glitters, and browns swirled together. I would give this product a 3.5 if I could. I liked that it add some shimmer without being too glittery. However, I don't really know how much it actually 'bronzed' me. I I didn't notice that much of a difference when I used it...but maybe that was my brushes fault? i'm not really sure - this was my first bronzer. But that's basically the reason I returned it to sephora. I've yet to find a good bronzer, but there's a tarte combo at sephora that's a great deal so I may try that one :)

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 7 Pink
arabprincesa 7/12/2009 1:45:00 AM
I bought this product online after hearing great reviews on it. I picked out the pink one because it's supposed to brighten your complexion, which I figured would be cool since that's what my current primer (Benefit's That Gal") does. Pros: - It usually hides all my pores - It does act as a great base for foundation/tinted moisturizer - It doesn't break me out or make me look oily - It comes with a great hygienic little pump - you can control how much you're getting too. - It doesn't make my skin dry - it actually makes it kinda softer Cons - It doesn't actually brighten my skin. I'm wondering if the neutral would look any different than the neutral. So yeah, only one con I could think of, but it's a biggie for me. That Gal is the only other primer I've ever used, and it's definitely my HG. It makes me look fresh and awake, and smells clean rather than makeup-y. I might keep this as a secondary primer though...because it does photograph rather well. But yeah...the whole doesn't actually brighten thing pisses me off. I've gotta say, the bottle it comes in is pretty chic. It's tall and feels super high quality.

Makeup Brushes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Foundation Brush
arabprincesa 7/12/2009 1:32:00 AM
This was my first "high-end" brush. I bought it a long with some-kinda-gorgeous and that gal. I used to use it with both daily, but since I've switched over to a tinted moisturizer I've only been using it with primer. It worked great with my foundation - no brush streaks as many others mentioned - bu not so well with the tinted moisturizer. I'm not sure why, but the brush strokes went away with more blending anyway so not to big of a deal. The brush is really great quality. I almost daily use my antibactereal spray and wipe it down pretty harshly with a napkin, and so far i haven't noticed any strands coming off. It has lost a bit of it's shape (I squeeze it pretty hard with the napkin though, so understandable)...but after washing, it seems to bounce back to it's original shape. The only complaint I have about the quality of the brush is that the "Foundation - Benefit" wording has almost rubbed off completely, which kind of sucks because it just looks like a plain old brush with out it...not really important, but for twenty bucks I expect good quality ink :) Oh, and I've had this for about eight months...I'm not sure what the typical life span of a brush is...but this one feels like it's got many more days ahead of it.

Cleansers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Woosh
arabprincesa 7/12/2009 1:25:00 AM
I bought this because the sales lady promised it wouldn't dry out my skin...wrongg. Even with moisturizer my skin was dried out and gross. This isn't anything more spectacular than drug store acne products (it's just 2% sal. acid), and actually worse considering the price. I heart pumps, but this foamy thing was not working for me at all. I felt like I had to use so much to get a good clean. Thank god for benefit's awesome return policy or this would have been $18 (maybe $22?) down the drain.

Deodorants -Almay - Clear solid deodorant
arabprincesa 7/12/2009 1:21:00 AM
My review is also for the antiperspirant/deodorant unscented product. This is hands down the WORST deodorant I've ever used Yes, it does it's job well. It keeps my dry (as well as any other deodorant I've ever tried has, at least), and even though its unscented you can't smell any B.O. like you can with many other deodorants. But while that worked well, it absolutely destroyed my under arms. I guess there's no kind of conditioning in this as there are in most products (the stick itself feels very dry), and it left my arms so so so dry and itchy. And because it was so intolerably itchy...I of coursed scratched my underarms (gross, i know, but you don't understand the pain!) I used this for a good three weeks before realizing it was the culprit. My underarms got darker, and rashy...it's been about three weeks since i've dropped the product, and my underarms still haven't fully recovered. I should have realized what a crap product this was as it was on sale...2 for $5.00. Wouldn't use it again if you paid me.

Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - Ooh la lift!
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 6:20:00 AM
Like the reviewer below me, I usually love BeneFit's products...but not this thing. I feel like it's kind of bi-polar, because someday's it does kind of brighten my undereyes well, but usually it just makes them look worse. I'm not sure how it does this either, but when I smile it give me more lines under my eyes! And i'm only 19, so I know those lines aren't actually mine. I tried hard to like this product. It has such a cute name, and the bottle is so cute...but I wish I had returned it while I still had the chance. Definitely would not repurchase.

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 6:15:00 AM
I bought this product at the instance of the mA and I'm pretty happy with it. I've stowed away my some-kinda-gorgeous for "dress up days" and use this on a daily basis. Pros: - a little product goes a long, long ways - evens out my skin tone well - i don't need to bust out my foundation brush to use it - doesn't settle into my pores and doesn't break me out (!) - doesn't make me super oily Cons - spf in it is to little to be of any real benefit, and more of a hindrance than any sort of help really since you're not supposed to combine sunscreens...I would definitely prefer this product to have zero spf in it as opposed to 15. - doesn't really moisturize. I can't use this product without having moisturized before...which seems kind of ridiculous for a tinted moisturizer, right? for the price, I feel like I should be getting bot - the packaging can be annoying. i'm bias because i love pumps, but still. I don't look forward to squeezing product out of this aluminum-y tin tube thingy at all. I'd buy this product again if I don't find anything else better. I want to try Aveeno's SPF 30 tinted moisturizer before I even think about buying this again...so we shall see (:

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - California Kissin'
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 6:06:00 AM
I would never, never pay this much for this gloss. For a lancome juicy tube yes, but for this...no. I got it for spending over $50.00 on BeneFit products a while back at Macys, and that's the only reason I'm here writing a review (: Don't get me wrong, it's a nice gloss. it's got kind of a light blue-ish tint, and as horrid as that sounds, ti actually worked well on my lips/with my complexion. It was a nice change from all the pink sheeny lipglosses I and everyone else on the earth ones, but not in an overly dramatic kinda way. I could barely feel the mint in this product though, so I'm not sure if it really freshens your breath (I've got C.O. Bigolow's Mentha lip shine for that). But it stays on pretty well. I took off a lippie only because the things this product claims to do is pretty ridiculous (whiten your teeth? really?). Wouldn't repurchase only because, as I said above, I'd never pay that much for a gloss.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Blue
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 6:01:00 AM
Got this as a bonus with another product, otherwise I definitely would not have shelled out the $20+ for this product, since I'm not an everyday mascara kinda girl. That said, I'm definitely glad I got this product. It works similar to the original badgal imo, lengthens without making eye lashes clumpy, even with multiple coats. My eyelashes are dark, so the blue is very subtle, mostly only visible at the very tips of my lashes. But as another reviewer commented...it just makes my eyes pop even more so than they do with regular mascara. It's pretty cool, and actually makes me want to wear mascara more often. Not sure I would buy again only because this is going to last forever at the rate I'm going.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 5:53:00 AM
I'm not a mascara junkie by any means...I usually only wear it on special occasions, and even then it's not a regular thing. Hence, I've only trid a few mascaras...the one with the comb by Maybelline, a couple by clinque and lancome. I've never liked any of the mascara's i've used more than this one. I'm not sure if it's the big brush or the product it's self, but my eye lashes never clump like they used to. I never get that weird spider lash look with this mascara either, even when I've applied two coats. I wouldn't buy this again unless it came as a package deal with other must have benefit items simply because I don't wear mascara the often, and I feel like this is going to last a while. So overall, this is a good product (I've got nothing negative to say about it, except maybe the price), but one I could live without.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Soleo Organics SPF 30+
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 5:48:00 AM
I also bought this product after seeing its great rating over at cosmeticsdatabase.com and worrying over other SS products not working well. I bought it online, since I wasn't sure if it was carried in stores and couldn't be bothered to look through all the different organic and health food stores in town. The packaging isn't anything special, just the squeeze tube most sunscreens come with. It's a pretty ugly bottle to be honest, but it's not something I'd be carrying around with me anyway so it's really a concern of mine. The consistency of this product is a bit strange. It feels a little grainy, but it absorbs into your face without leaving any grainy residue. The company claims that it leaves no white cast on your face...but I definitely noticed my a dulling effect on my face. Not as bad as Neutrogena's SS, but still not completely clear. Again, not too big of a deal because I always wear a tinted moisturizer/foundation. What did really other me and cause me to take a lippie was the smell...I'm not really sure how to describe it. It definitely does not smell like your typical sunscreen, and in my opinion it's much, much worse. It's not intolerable, but it's not pleasant. It does fade after about a while...but still, ew. I also took off a lippie because it made my skin feel and look super oily. I have acne prone skin, and with all the oils in this product, I'm definitely afraid it's going to break me out. I did notice a few new bumps on my chin a day after using this, but I'm not entirely sure if it was the culprit. I would have given this product a much lower rating had it not had the best rating at cosmeticsdatabase.com...I'm willing to endure the smell and the oiliness knowing that my skin is well-protected.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
arabprincesa 7/10/2009 5:36:00 AM
This is a great staple product. I love love love the feeling of the mentha on my lips - so refreshing! I sometime use this when i'm out of gum too, because the minty smell is really that strong. I took off one lippie because the product is a bit too shiny for my liking, and because it doesn't really seem to do much for my lips when they're already chapped. But that said, I try not to leave the house without this (: I also have it in one of the tinted colors and actually like it better than the original. It looks like an expensive gloss with the benefit of mentha goodness (:

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Face Wash
arabprincesa 6/30/2009 4:17:00 AM
I'm totally in love with this product. I was a little surprised to find out that people said this dried their skin...when used with moisturizer, it actually left my skin pretty oily (which is the reason I took of a lippie). I use this with the toner, and my skin feels fresh and looks good. Now, I also started using this when I started using a new gel prescription from the dermatologist. The gel definitely made a huge difference...I don't feel like this cleanser is a miracle worker or anything, but it works well with other products. It has properties that are great for acne prone skin, but it doesn't dry my skin out either...which is probably the biggest plus. Every other acne cleanser or other type of product i've tried has dried up my face like crazy, even while i was using moisturizer. Plus, the cleanser is totally gentle on my skin...natural, and some proceeds go to a good cause (:

Palettes -Urban Decay - Get Baked Palette [DISCONTINUED]
arabprincesa 6/26/2009 2:43:00 AM
I loove this. It was an impulse buy, but boy was I glad I picked it up. The primer potion didn't really seem to do much for me, but that's cool because these eyeshadows last great by themselves. I absolutely love the color palette, because they can be easily used for day or night. Definitely a cute summer look. The eyeliner is great too, though I only use it on my water line. Great colors, great quality. Won't repurchase only because I know it'll last me forever.
