Fragrances -Bodycology - Brown Sugar Vanilla Body Mist
aqua76239 5/24/2013 4:03:00 PM
This is very simular to BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar, except cheaper and it lasts longer. Sweet sugary vanilla..Smells just like the name. I always bitch about how BBW which used to be one of my favorite stores, started watering down their scents where body sprays will last literally minutes and why do I want to buy it again if I can have very simular scent that lasts at least 2 hours(or even longer when layered with lotion)? Bodycology does great job with their scents so kuddos to them. Incidentally, I quit buying soaps at BBW some time ago because they only have anti-bacterial soaps(which i don't want). Now Bodycology has soaps in simular scents which are not anti-bacterial. I am very happy about that
As others said, this is either love or hate it kind of scent. When this scent first came out, I was given a sample of it and I HATED it. I thought it was too loud and floral, and just too much. Since then I learned to appreciate number of fragrances and so when I passed by Alien in department store I decided to give it a shot. I am not a floral lover and mostly prefer gourmand and fruity scents but this is one of the florals I really like. As most TM scents, its very unique and I haven’t smelled anything even remotely similar before or since. Its woodsy, ambery yet full of floral jasmine note. Very full bodied and rich. I took the opportunity the buy mini sizes of TM scents and out of all Angel and Alien are my favorites hands down. My hubby hated the Alien though-said it smelled like “old lady” lol. But he likes mostly light clean scents so I am not surprised. And if that's you and you prefer very light scents and body sprays, I would suggest staying far far aways from this. This is rich floral that lasts a quite a long time on my skin. I layed it with Sparkling Blackberry Woods from BBW and its quite lovely. Btw, I LOVE the bottle-its so gorgeous and different!
this one is one of my all time favorites from BBW-it smells like meringue with sugar and fruit on top. I absolutely love it and wish it was permanent because I would love to have edt in this as well. I have regular Paris Amour also but these two are very different as Paris Amour has more floral notes. I used up half of my bottles of lotion and spray so what am I going to do when I am out?:(
Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles
aqua76239 11/9/2012 4:30:00 PM
I have bad undereye circles-all genetic and I had these since I was 12. So I need some serious concealer. Best coverage I got before was with MAC but it creased like crazy. I have been using Maybelline Fit and its fairly good but since everyone was singing praises to this, I wanted to give it a shot. First off, I HATE the sponge on the end-its simply too big to get in the corners next to your eyes(which is where I have some major darkness) so I had to run my finger over the sponge and then pat it in place. When I am getting ready in the morning, this is one hassle I don't need. Number two, if you have bad circles, this won't cover all that much as it appears to be much thinner coverage than their Fit concealer. If you only need light concealer coverage, I am sure you will be fine but if you have major things to cover, forget it. It also appeared to be more cakey than I thought it would be(although I had to apply several layers because one covered nothing) and set it with a bit of powder. It didn't seem to crease much but for me the major issues were lack of coverage and difficulty in application Btw, I picked the lightest color which I think called Fair. I am super pale(probably around NC 15) so color match was good.
For drugstore gloss this is pretty good. It doesn't last 6 hours but it does stay longer than average gloss and survives me drinking water continuously. It won't last through a meal but then no gloss I ever tried does that. I have it in Eternity, pretty mauve nude shade, its a cool shade and I think would look good on most pale brunettes(which is what I am). Color intensity is about average-not too sheer but not too pigmented. I really like it and thinking about getting another color
Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Feelin Blue eyeshadow set
aqua76239 10/22/2012 6:01:00 PM
This is new and I saw several color combinations at Walmart before they were completely sold out-they had brown pallette, pink, purple and blue. I got the blue because it looked gorgeous and the price was great, just over $6. There are 10 eyeshadows, all very frosty/with LOT of shimmer. Shades include: white, light grey, darker grey, light blue, slightly darker grey-blue, light teal, vivid jewel tone teal, deep medium blue, vivid periwinkle blue and very dark navy. I always wear e/s over a primer and pigmentation was good, but the texture seemed to be rather grainy. It blended well enough(although had a lot of fallout) but what I have noticed that even on my eyes, it looked like there are tiny grains of e/s. I have tried to blend it further but no cigar. However, you could only see it if you looked very closely. I kind of shrugged my shoulders and went out to have lunch with a friend. 3 hours later I looked in the mirror to check my makeup and what do I see-tiny grains of shadow have migrated under my eyes and even to my waterline(where I didn't even apply it). WTH?! I wiped it off only to have it recur several hours later. So basically, you will have this shadow falling on your cheecks all day long. Oh, and if that wasn't bad enough, when I finally got home that night, my eye makeup looked all smeared. I haven't touched my eyes, I don't have oily eyelids and I have used a primer(I usually use Paint Pot and it works really well). This have never happened to me before with ANY eyeshadows I have EVER tried. This product looks pretty but quality is total crap. I would give it a zero rating if I could
I was on the lookout for nude gloss that wasn't going to make me look like death(I am cool, with very pale porcelain skin and dark hair). This is neutral light beige that is very shimmery almost metallic looking and I am sure would look good on pretty much anyone. It makes your lips look very full and pouty and actually not sheer at all. It has lot of pigment so it can be worn by itself or over lipstick. I've worn it over Mica from Loreal and my lips look huge with this on. For nude lips, this is a must. It wears pretty long time for lipgloss even with my drinking water constantly. If I ever run out, I will buy again
Lip Liners -Lancome - Le Lipstique Sheer-Sheer Raspberry
aqua76239 10/16/2012 9:54:00 PM
I really liked this liner-I got it in the package that came with lipstick and gloss and this by far was my favorite product. Name Sheer Rasberry is rather misleading because raspberries are normally pinkish red color and this lipliner is brownish mauve(and I disagree with reviewer below me as I never seen raspberries that are this color). None the less this color is perfect with almost any pink, mauve or plums and wine colors. Its soft but yet dry so it doesn't smear and glides on very smoothly and stays on forever. Normally I wouldn't buy expensive lipliner as I dont think these are worth the money but I will definately get another one after I run out because I have been using it nonstop. And of course, its always convinient that it comes with a brush on the other end
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Splash
aqua76239 10/15/2012 4:01:00 PM
I bought cream and body spray because I love anything vanilla and this smells like creme brulee with some burnt sugar on top. However, my biggest beef with this is how weak the smell is. I layered it with lotion and it lasted less than 20 min(I timed it). It seems like every year, their items get more expensive and scents get weaker and weaker. I am so sick of it. Btw, I have couple of Body Fantasies body sprays and these last an hour or two on me and it cost only few dollars. So I feel like BBW is ripping people off. Considering that I live in the tropics where its always humid which tends to amplify any scent, no such thing happened with this. Seriosly, I am swearing off buying BBW body sprays because lasting power is so horrible, what a waste of money.
all the eyeshadows are very shimmery and almost metallic looking but not glittery which is a point in their favor. It includes four colors two of which are more of neutral and two are warm. The icy pale taupe, very pale lime green that actually looks like a cross between lime green and gold, pale copper which leans towards coral and dark chocolate brown. All shadows are pigmented and blend well. And while I have cool skintone, I can get away with wearing these especially if I am wearing red/coral lips. One of the looks I tried was pale taupe to hightlight and in the corners of the eye, lime green on the lid, copper in the crease and chocolate brown as eyeliner and in the crease. This would be perfect for someone with warm coloring, especially with green or hazel eyes but I like it on myself as well. I am tempted to another one of these quads as quality seems to be really good.
Hmm, this is definately not the greatest lipstick ever. In the tube the color looked just what I was hoping for-bright orangey coral with gold shimmer. When I got it home and swatched it on my hand, it was peachy pink. Okaay..I applied it to my lips and it went on peachy pink that was fairly light, nothing vibrant. It also appeared to go on rather sheer and not full coverage like I expected. This lipsticks are also rather dry and hard to apply. I mean, peachy pink is ok but its not what I wanted(since color looks so different in the tube) and its very dry(which is also not what I wanted). I like lot of Jordana products but lipstick is not one of them. Definately need an overhall on this
Jordana seem to change the names and formulas for their glosses quite often. The ones I have only have the names of the color, not what is this gloss called. Its one of their newer ones and comes in the tube with doe foot applicator. I bought two last week-Sunset Kiss and Anarose. Sunset Kiss is beautiful light peachy pink with a lot of golden shimmer(which shows almost clear on me but my lips are pink). Anarose is medium cool mauve with no shimmer. On my lips its pinky mauve that is very natural looking and just looks like you have pretty deep mauvy lips naturally. Its smells fresh and fruity, goes on smooth, nonsticky and has nice pigmentation. For the price, you can't go wrong with this. Imo, this is great quality gloss which i prefer over most other drugstore brands
Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lipstick in Peach Fuzz
aqua76239 10/3/2012 7:36:00 PM
This is very light frosty peach that is rather sheer. Personally, I think this would be a better color for someone with warmer and darker complection(I am PPP and cool). Also, its a bit too frosty. I think if you have pigmented lips it won't show up a whole lot which was the case for me. I was actually looking for light coral and this is too light for what I wanted. Still, I think it would be a good color for medium skin tones(very JLO)
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick - Rose & Shine
aqua76239 10/2/2012 8:07:00 PM
If you want natural looking color, this is it. This is light muted rose pink with hint of brown and subtle shimmer(in this pic it looks much brighter than it is). This would be universally flattering color for light to light/medium skin tones(I think its too light if you are darker than this). contrary to what several other reviewers said, I don't find it too shimmery(you can barely see shimmer) nor sheer(I think this is regular moisturizing lipstick, definately not sheer). My lips are already kind of rosy pink so this is just gives it more finished look. Natural but pretty. Very MLBB color. Most of the time, I prefer a brighter shade but if you want nude/natural lips or doing dramatic eye makeup, this is a winner.
this is medium peachy pink with golden shimmer that is not too obvious. Its fairly pigmented but unfortunately, my lips are pigmented too so on my lips its just looks clear. I usually wear it over lipstick because on its own its just not noticable at all. Its a decent product though-not sticky and very moisturizing This is simular to Orgasm by Nars although I think Peony is just a bit darker. If u don't want to shell out money for Nars, this is a good alternative
