Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup
aqelvis 4/7/2013 12:26:00 PM
This is actually not a bad drugstore product....doesn't wear as long as I would like, but gives nice finish to the skin, doesn't sink into wrinkles,- quick, easy, and blends nicely.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
aqelvis 4/7/2013 12:24:00 PM
Got this as a free birthday gift at Sephora....to me, this is as nasty as it comes....made my lashes spiky, hard, didn't lengthen that much, or thicken, and played hell trying to get it off, even with oil cleanser! Prefer Buxom and Tarte Lights camera lashes a lot more!

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - Ticket to Brazil
aqelvis 4/7/2013 12:16:00 PM
bought this the same day as I bought the Bikini Contest...also had high hopes, but this one was too orange for me....bummer, loved the idea of inexpensive bronzer that would work well for me...but no.

I had high hopes for this, as I really Loved the price, but alas, on me, it was way reddish looking....probably good for darker skin...even though it is cheap, I'm still taking it back....

Powder -Hourglass - Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
aqelvis 3/7/2013 8:42:00 AM
Ok...if you read my review for Diffused Light, you may think I am anti-amibent lighting powders....but no....actually I bought Dim Light first, thinking I would be able to use on my entire face. So when I received it, I did just that....I looked absolutely fabulous, however, it made me about one shade darker than I normally am, and did not blend in with my neck....I think this is going to be an incredible all over finish once I break out the ol' self tanner. For now I am using it as the perfect light bronzer for pale winter skin, and the great part about it, is you don't have to worry about being too heavy handed with it! Well since I loved the finish of Dim Light, I ran out to Sephora, thinking Diffused Light would be my perfect friend for all over finishing for winter pale skin.....however, it did not perform anywhere similar to Dim Light for me....you can read that review under Ambient Light Powder reviews...so back it went. See what you think, and as for packaging, I have no complaints.

Powder -Hourglass - Ambient Lighting Powder

Ok this is for the Ambient lighting in Diffused Light.....I did not care for this....it looks chalky to begin with, looks ok after a few minutes, but a few hours later it does setlle in my lines and kind of separates making my skin actually look worse instead of better....if you check on the Ambient Lighting in Dim Light, you will see I give it a completely different review....needless to say, this one will be going back to Sephora.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
aqelvis 3/1/2013 9:49:00 AM
I had seen this at the store but not really looked closely at it...then urban decay was having a 20% off sale, so I bought it. When I opened it and looked at it, I thought, "boring, flat, gonna be chalky looking...why did I buy this". Well, I decided to go ahead and put some on...and still was thinking it was boring and kind of flat.....but, once I added one of my colorful shadows in the crease, and began playing with the whole look....it was awesome! It looked creamy, not matte or flat like I thought, and really added alot to the overall look of my eyes. Being older, I will use some shimmer but need mattes-but with alot of matte colors, they look dry, chalky, and end up making me look even older...... so if you are looking for creamy mattes that don't do that, this is a must for all of us mature women!

Blush -NYX - Stick Blush
aqelvis 9/16/2012 6:25:00 PM
I love these stick blushes....Cheap, super easy to blend, and beautiful! Better than some expensive ones that I have tried....got my sister hooked on them as well...My two favorite colors are Hibiscus and Water Lily....Give them a try....they work awesome with my BB cream on days I just want to look decent for running around, but are high performance on those special occasions as well......I can't believe how awesome they are for the price!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
aqelvis 9/16/2012 6:19:00 PM
First time my husband has ever commented on how good my skin looked....not the makeup, but my skin.....it was a great match, didn't feel as heavy as other longwear foundations, and looked great all day. It did not accentuate my wrinkles like some other longwear products did, and didn't appear mask like. Expensive yes, worth it, yes.....every day makeup I use my Missha BB Cream, but this is awesome when you want to look perfect!!!!!

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
aqelvis 9/16/2012 6:16:00 PM
This is my favorite mascara for really producing wow lashes for me....I have short, straight, not very thick lashes, and I absolutely love it! The only negative I have, is the brush took some getting used too....it is oversized, and at first, I made a mess out of myself until I got used to it....I wish they would make the formula with a Teddy Bear brush so to say, as I like that kind...but this is just as good if not better thand Dior....better price too!!!!! Another bonus, it does not dry out like alot of mascaras tend to do....I have had the same tube for quite along while, and only use it when I am am really "Dolling" up.....I like that as well.....

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
aqelvis 9/16/2012 6:12:00 PM
Wow, what a let down.....I loved original BM until I moved to a drier climate, and now that I am 46, it tended to accentuate wrinkles and fine lines, so I was excited when I heard this was moisturizing, and had great coverage etc etc.....I used the brush they recommended, but returned the product because it looked too chalky....tried it for 3 days with different bases such as primer, BB cream, and moisturizer and primer...didn't like the way it felt either....I guess I will just continue with BB cream for daily, and Estee Lauder Double Wear for special occasions, and kiss my mineral makeup goodbye.....

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow Revitalizing
aqelvis 5/10/2012 3:42:00 PM
I will buy this when I can't find Loreal Sublime Glow....the color is fine, delivery fine, I just don't like the smell....if it had a better smell, and a slight sparkle, I would give it a 5....I am pale, but use the Medium, cuz the Fair did not work for me.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime GLOW
aqelvis 5/10/2012 3:40:00 PM
I think this is the best gradual tanner on the market, and I like the little sparkles, as it seems to make my legs and arms look more even toned, and even more "toned" as in muscular...doesn't smell too horrible, just wish it would dry a bit quicker.

Self Tanners -Bare Escentuals - Faux Tan
aqelvis 5/10/2012 3:37:00 PM
I have used this for the past several years now, and I love it.....I can even put it on in the morning, wait a few hours, buff with a dry towel, and go out....then I look even darker with the first application.....just don't try this if it is really hot or humid....when you do shower it, alot of color does come off, but with second or third application, it looks really deep and natural. I love the brush that comes with it, but use gloves for all of body, and use the brush for hands and feet so I can keep from getting a cut off line- only one my husband does not complain about....then in between I use either L'oreal Sublime gradual tanner, or Jergens- that way, I don't have to use it too often- buy it in large size at QVC, and it will last a year, and it doesn't seem to turn green like alot of other brands.

Cleansers -First Aid Beauty - Face Cleanser
aqelvis 5/1/2012 12:04:00 PM
This is actually for the Ultra Repair Wash.....don't generally buy expensive facial cleansers, but I feel this one is worth it....like it better than Purity Cleanse from Philosophy....leaves my skin soft, smooth, clean, but never tight....and no scent. Love what it does!
