Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Radiance Night Creme
apollo84 2/21/2010 9:12:00 PM
Really wanted to like this, especially since I generally like Burt's Bees products, but this night cream clogged all my pores and felt like a thick glue over my skin. What's the point of cleansing if you're just gonna smear this goo all over your face right after? And I used a tiny bit, maybe a dime-sized amount too. I've been using it for several weeks (and no improvement noticed on my skin!) and still have a whole bunch left since I paid nearly $20 for it and feel bad tossing it. But I've had enough, maybe it will work as a nice foot cream, but for my face, absolutely not! Definitely WON'T be purchasing again!!

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Blue Lizard Regular SPF 30+
apollo84 2/20/2010 2:19:00 PM
Sunscreen's probably the one product I'm absolutely uncompromising on; if I need to go in a hurry I swear this is the one thing I don't leave without. I live in Miami and even in the winter you can do major sun damage to your skin. I've also started on a new alpha-hydroxy acid cleanser that makes my already sensitive skin more prone to sun damage, so I was looking for a new heavy-duty SS that wouldn't clog my pores, was easy to find, and most of all not break the bank and really protect the way it advertises. Well, this product's the real deal. I've heard a lot about the "white film" it leaves on your face; I've tried it and it really isn't that noticeable. I rub it in and apply MU over it, you really can't tell you've got it on. It protects and doesn't feel too greasy. If you're used to the silicone-based SS's that cost the same but don't protect along such a broad spectum, then yeah, it feels heavier. This also got pretty good reviews on the Environmental Working Group's rankings (check out the site anyway at ewg.org to see which SS's really do what they claim and which don't!) and I especially like that the active ingredients are relatively high %s of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. You know you're getting your money's worth when you see that on the packaging. Until I hear about something better, I'm sticking to this. Especially compared to Neutrogena's huge selection (most of which I've tried and ended up with more clogged pores and freckles than before!), every other drugstore brand and generic, to the higher-end stuff like La Roche-Posay and Shiseido (waaaay too overpriced for what they do! save your money!) this works better than the rest and you can get it in most CVS stores and online as well. Will definitely buy again!

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Eyes
apollo84 2/20/2010 2:03:00 PM
For the price and quality it's a bit of a disappointment, though the colors are really fantastic. I have three or four shades from this line. They need to be sharpened constantly to make application easier, much more than MAC liners IMO. And its greatest strength is also its biggest weakness: the color never budges. EVER! I apply it in the AM and I'm literally scrubbing the crap out of my eyes before I go to bed. I swear I've tried every waterproof MU remover, every washcloth, and I still wake up in the morning with clumps on my eyelashes from these liners!! So on the plus side, yeah they work, but good luck getting it out of your eyes. Would I buy again? Not sure, maybe just one color, but I'd have to stock up on MU remover first!

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Vanilla Cupcake Body Butter
apollo84 2/12/2010 5:53:00 PM
I use this in conjunction with the vanilla cupcake shower gel and it's such a fantastic combo. The price freaked me out a little at first but I swear this stuff lasts forever, and I use it every day! What I love about this body butter is that it never feels greasy or heavy; it goes on really smoothly and the scent is never overpowering. I've tried a couple of the other body butters from Sephora's line but I keep going back to this one because the scent is so awesome! The packaging's alright, it's a pretty generous size IMO and a little goes a long way. Will definitely repurchase!

Skincare - Body -Sephora - Bath Gel in Vanilla
apollo84 2/12/2010 5:48:00 PM
Not a fan of the packaging, hard to pop open the top with wet fingers, but it's the yummiest-smelling shower gel!! I use the vanilla cupcake body butter after I shower, and the combo is fanastic! The scent's not overpowering, and while it's not the most moisturizing shower gel it gets the job done. And the scent lasts a long time. I think Philosophy makes a similar shower gel but for the price and quality I'm sticking with this one. And a little goes a long way! :) Will definitely repurchase!

Most gorgeous highlighter ever!! You can't go wrong; no matter what skin tone or how much/little you apply.... it's just perfect! I've had such good luck with all of MAC's Mineralize products, but this one's my fave. A definite keeper!!

Treatments -Ocean Potion - clear zinc oxide spf45
apollo84 2/12/2010 5:27:00 PM
Total crap! I'd heard great things about the brand through a respected dermatologist, so I thought I'd give it a try. I live in south Florida so for me, sunscreen has to go the extra mile every time. I slathered this product on before taking a walk, and when I got back home my skin was bright red..... and I wasn't sweating! I agree with the other reviews in that they should specify the amounts of zinc oxide and oxybenzone. It's really cheap, but for the quality simply not worth it!

Conditioner -Paul Mitchell - Color Protect Conditioner
apollo84 7/3/2009 4:57:00 PM
I've always like PM products; I tried to like this conditioner, but no amount of rinsing got out the greasy film on my hair! It felt thick and cakey after washing... and at $12 a bottle, definitely won't buy again!
