Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara

Purchased: Target Price: $7 Real rating: 3.9 stars I bought this after seeing the many rave-reviews on /r/MakeupAddiction. I'm definitely not one to wear mascara, as I usually think it looks fake and then my lashes hit my glasses, etc. I put this on after using the NYC lash curler ($3), and overall I really liked it, however, I give it almost four stars instead of four because it doesn't actually crush the clumps, it just gives you half of the clumps you would normally have. Pros: #1 Long-lasting. Like most mascaras it lasted all day. #2 It was easy to apply with the brush. I loved the stubby brush it came with. I don't get the product all over my eye. This would be a great one for beginners. #3 It doesn't make my lashes look unnatural or too long. Cons: #1 It isn't an HG, but it does reduce clumpage. #2 The packaging is terrible. It takes up a lot of space, and it could be far sleeker. The color is pretty obnoxious too.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Minty Kiss Lip Shimmer

Price: $2.25 or $9 Purchased: Victoria's Secret 13g/.46oz I got this in the Wintermint flavor for Christmas, and absolutely love it. I went back to pick up another, and to my surprise they were on sale for $2.25! I now have about $20 stashed away to last me another year or so. I had never used a lip gloss before (more of a lipstick person), but I love this one. Pros: The packaging is great. It comes in a little tube, and it easily fits into my small purse or pocket. It comes in several flavors, all seem to smell nice, but my favorite is still the Wintermint. It gives my lips a not-too-sticky light shine. Keep in mind, there is no color tint. If you're wearing a natural makeup look I think this would work well with it. Cons: #1 It doesn't last very long. It lasts until I eat or drink or for about 3 hours. #2 The price. For $2.25 I'm not going to complain However, I would never buy this at the full $9. You can probably find something much cheaper and equally good by doing some research then heading to Target.

Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder

Price: $ ~10 Purchased: Target Color: W3 After using up MAC Studio Fix I received as a gift, I began searching for a cheaper alternative. This isn't a dupe for SF, but it suits my needs very well, and I've hit pan! For the price, I think it's great. I've already purchased a back-up of this powder, and plan to use it for quite awhile. I used this product on its own, but occasionally with a concealer. Pros: My main goal is to even out and "mattefy" my skin. This powder does exactly that. It covers up all the redness around my forehead and cheeks, but not so much that it makes my skin look fake. It's also really easy to apply. I used the Ecotools blush (or powder?) brush, and it blended out pretty well. Cons: #1 As much as I love this, even after using a moisturizer daily there are certain areas along the edges of my nose that this powder dries out. I have pretty average skin - not oily, not dry, but this powder looks really chalky on those two areas. I'm not too sure how to fix this, but I'm guessing for most people if you exfoliate well before you put it on it will be a lot better. #2 Not. Lasting. I put this on at about 7am and by lunchtime I need to do a swipe over my nose and forehead. This doesn't bother me, because I normally carry a purse or backpack with my anyway, but I imagine it will be a problem for most. Packaging: 2/5 I don't like the clear top. Picky, I know. Also, throw away the bacteria-collecting sponge it comes with. I'd like the product a lot more if they cut down half the thickness by taking out the powder applicator and put the mirror on the inside of the top. It's bulky.
