BB Cream -Unlisted Brand - Nature Republic Snail Therapy BB Cream
rated 5 of 5

Hands down the best BB Cream I've used so far ! I received a few sachets samples of this wonderful product, and am seriously thinking of purchasing a full sized bottle. I'll tell you why. First of all, in terms of blendability.... this BB Cream comes in a creamy smooth texture that glides onto your skin like butter. It's great if you're looking for that smooth flawless skin because that's precisely what this product gives you. I also use it as a undereye concealer, and it does the trick perfectly! I believe it comes in 2 shades, and the lighter shade I got fits my skin like a glove. What I think was different of this BB cream compared to others that I've used before is that it feels extremely comfortable on my skin (it doesn't give me the feeling as though I'm putting any cosmetics on). It doesnt break me out, LAST ALL DAY, and does provide hydration to a certain extent. The fact that it's formulated with SPF 30 also means that you don't need a seperate sunblock in your skincare regime, which is a super bonus. I highly recommend this BB Cream to anyone.... (provided that you can fit the shades!).

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Nature Republic - Snail Therapy Hydro Gel Mask
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 5/8/2013 9:23:00 PM

I agree with most the points mentioned by the previous reviewer ! The results you get from this mask is on par with other high-end skincare brands out there. This mask is meant to be a treatment to heal, moisturise and soothe your skin with a very high concentration of 'snail extract' that has recently gotten famous in the Korean beauty scene. As disgusting as it may sound, the mask isn't gooey at all (and nope, no peculiar scent either). It comes in a gel like type texture that feels very soothing on the face. I've used this mask a couple of times, and still end up with very pump and moisturised skin ! Highly recommended.

Liquid -Unlisted Brand - Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation
rated 3 of 5
apgoh2 5/8/2013 9:14:00 PM

On my quest to find a natural organic foundation, I stumbled upon Ere Perez- a cosmetics company that prides itself in using only the most natural ingredients that are good for the skin. This foundation claims to be soothing and is ofcourse made with only the most natural ingredients that claim to soothe and moisturise the skin. Thumbs up to the team for formulating this foundation that comes in 5 shades which I believe covers most skin shades (at least in my opinion, Asian skin shades). I got the bottle in the lightest shade (Light). All of its packaging comes in a minimalistic but practical packaging. The foundation is stored in a see through plastic bottle with a built-in pump. Texture wise, I have to admit it feels a bit more like a face cream rather than conventional foundation which is very blendable. In other words, don't expect this to be a fluid, spreadable foundation that glides on like butter. If you have dry flaky skin, this might accentuate your flaws. However, if your skin is combination and relatively smooth and hydrated... then this product will work. I apply a dime size of the foundation, and warm it with my fingertips, and then gently tap it across my face for an even skin tone (Note: If you are looking for a foundation that COVERS everything, you'll be dissapointed with this!). It also feels very natural, and does not feel as though my skin is trapped under a layer of 'mask' when I wear other conventional foundations. However, this foundation would work only to a certain extent in covering scars/mark. It would be great if it comes with SPF as well. Overall, I would recommend to purchase this product if you care about what you feed your skin with. Quite a good product, and will be keen to try its other products !

Masks -Laneige - Water Sleeping Pack_EX
rated 4 of 5
apgoh2 4/24/2013 10:20:00 AM

I have to confess that i bought this after hearing countless raves about this product. And i must admit that it does live up to its hype. This is meant to be an intensive hydrating mask that works its magic when you are sleeping. Texture wise, it has a water bases consistency and soaks pretty easily onto the skin without an oiliness. I dont notice much difference when i put this on but when you leave it overnight, you do wake up the next morning with more plump skin. Skin feels very hydrated and make up glides on a lot more easily ! But the effect is temporary, but it works as a quick hydration boost to the skin. I tried The Face Shop Rasberry pack and laneige has a pretty similiar texture except this one doesnt break me out. Highly recommended !

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Mauvy Night
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 4/12/2013 8:20:00 AM

My first time owning a Revlon lipstick, and I have to admit that I have nothing bad to complain about this product. Like what most MUA-ers have mentioned here, it's a very nice berry coloured lippie that goes on smoothly. If you're looking for a glossy kind or sheerer formulatio, then it wouldn't be for you. It goes on very smoothly and formulation wise, it's very creamy. It finishes off with a semi-matte look, but does not leave the lip feeling dry. You do not have to prep your lips with a lip balm prior to using this (provided that you don't have super dry lips!). I am a fair-skinned Asian, and this shade is indeed very flattering, and transforms my look into a sophisticated one. Very impressed with the Super Lustrous line, and would highly recommend anyone trying it out !

BB Cream -L'Oreal - UV Perfect BB Max
rated 3 of 5
apgoh2 4/2/2013 8:32:00 PM

So it seems like L'Oreal came up with this hybrid of sunscreen and BB cream. I reckon this is an extension of popular UV Perfect range, but with some properties of BB cream in it. I remembered reading somewhere that it incorporates 10 significant benefits for the skin, but can't quite remember them (since they're meant to be a gimmick anyway!). This product comes in the packaging of its other UV Perfect range, and has a texture that is similar to a sunscreen. What I liked about this product is that it comes with SPF 50 UVA/UVB +++, which happens to be one of the highest sun protections you can get. However, I must caution that this product really only suits a rather narrow range of skintones/skin types. Precisely, it's only suitable for people with fair skin tones, and it does not cover up blemishes or scars very well. Another thing that I noticed is it also does not blend very well. If you're expecting this to blend like butter onto the skin, then you'll be up for dissapointment ! If you have dry parches of skin, the streaks will show up. What I do to remedy this is to keep my skin hydrated with an additional serum. Considering that the iconic Fan Bing Bing is the official brand ambassador for this, I'm not sure if it indirectly implies that you need skin as fair and flawless as hers to be using this product. It provides some brightening effect and does blur imperfections to a small degree, but it you have scars or pimples, a separate concealer is definitely needed. In a nutshell, BB Max would be for you if you have fair skin and have generally clear skin. The product does not self-adjust to darker skintones (so it may have that grayish-white cast), and does not blend very well so you really need to ensure that your skin is well hydrated.

Lip Treatments -Pangea Organics - Italian Red Mandarin and Rose Lip Care
rated 3 of 5
apgoh2 3/26/2013 8:12:00 AM

This is my first organic certified lipbalm purchase made. Like other reviewers, I agree that the scent is amazing... It applies with a citrusy scent and then fades away into a rose/geranium sorr of scent. If you are into aromatheraphy or loves natural smelling products, then this will be for you ! My only gripe is that the lipbalm is a little fat, and does not apply very well on my lips. The balm tends to extend over my lip area making it rather annoying. Hmmm maybe its designed for fuller lipped women. In terms of moisturising properties, this one did not impress me. I apply this liberally over winter and my lips still occassionally feels dry. Its expensive as well. Other drugstore lipbalms like vaseline have done a better job than this.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Lip Color - Uber Pink
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 3/25/2013 8:18:00 AM

Yay my first purchase ever from BB ! Always thought they had one of the best selection of lip colours... Warm colours thay really complement a range of skintones. This lipstick is indeed very creamy, but i wouldnt say its extremely pigmented if you compare to Revlon or Mac. It doesnt have any shimmer nor glossy effect to it, nut strikes a good balance of producing that matte look without drying the lips. This shade look great against my fair skintone, and i reckon would generally go well with most makeup or outfits. On me, it gives that pastel barbie-pink shade without looking like a 15 year old. Great shade if you're looking for a sophisticated eveyday pink lipstick !

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - LoLLIA _ Imagine Handcreme
rated 4 of 5
apgoh2 3/25/2013 8:01:00 AM

I actually got this hand cream on one of my weekend strolls along the streets of Melbourne. This hand cream was on clearance and was selling at AUD 15 instead of the usual price, AUD 45. Knowing that Lollia is somewhat an expensive brand (or at least thats the impression thet we get in Asia and Australia), i knew i had to get this. The handcreme is stored in one of the cutest pastel boxes that sorta has a whimsical feel to it. Packaging wise it comes in a metal squeeze tub with a plastic screw off cap that is very similiar to L'Occitances iconic handcremes.. What i particularly liked about Lollias range is they all come in packaging that feels soooo pampering. Putting on this handcreme alone makes you feel you deserve this after a long day of work/exercise/studies/whatever. I agree with most of the previous reviewers that it has a coconut scent to it. Being a fan of coconut, this scent smells very comforting and it isnt disturbing at all. The scent is slightly blended with light floral scents that kind of neutralises the coconut scent. But the combination of both scents is a good one. It also sinks into your skin pretty easily but does not leave your skin feeling 'matte' ala hotel lotions. This handcreme would be for you if you like pretty products that feels pampering (in other words the girly girl material) ! Very moisturising as well

Lotions/ Creams -Crabtree & Evelyn - Rosewater Glycerine Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5

loved the scent of this lotion, however, it really only provides a minimal level of moisturisation. Great packaging with a built-in pump, and would look lovely on your bedside table !

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 3/22/2013 1:24:00 AM

I've heard so much about Witch Hazel, even before noticing that they sell it across the shelves in Australian grocers ! If you have an eye for detail, you'll notice it's one of the main ingredients in many skincare products (especially the ones targeted towards acne prone skin). At 250ml for merely AUD 5, there really isn't much to contemplate about. And I'm glad I made the purchase. It pretty much works like any other toner that I've used before except that it does come with a scent that takes some getting used to. The good news is the scent does not linger on. It's extremely gentle and does not dry out the skin, despite containing 14% of alcohol as indicated on the packaging of the bottle. I think Witch Hazel is amazing for calming down inf lammed skin. As a quick pimple treatment, I soak a cotton pad with this product and leave it onto the affected area for about 5 minutes. It does calm the skin down, and you'll notice that your pimple seems less inflamed in the next couple days. I highly recommend this toner...for the price, and the things it delivers, you really get the biggest bang for your buck !

Moisturizers -Trilogy - Ultra Hydtrating Cream
rated 4 of 5
apgoh2 3/19/2013 8:24:00 AM

I bought this tube of cream after my skin started getting really dry from the Melbourne weather that's transiting into the autumn season. Unlike most of other Trilogy moisturizers that I've tried, this one comes in a plastic tube form with a plastic cap. Upon using it, I have to admit that this cream is THICK. It's that kind of cream that you can turn your hands upside down and it wont even move a bit (if you get my weird analogue). Despite it being really thick in consistency, I was pleasantly surprised that this product is not oily at all and does a very good job in moisturising my skin. I apply this on top of the Age-Proof Nutrient serum, and it really keeps my skin moisturized despite the harsh weather. It sinks into the skin quickly and comfortably too. I, however, will not recommend this to anyone who is living in a hot humid tropical weather, or who has oily skin. This is a thick, heavy-duty moisturizer that would suit the winter season, or if you are suffering from dry skin. Another great product from Trilogy !

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Moi by Models Prefer
rated 3 of 5
apgoh2 3/15/2013 12:07:00 AM

Models Prefer is a line of budget cosmetics launched by Price Line. Being an avid window shopper in PL, I stumbled upon this perfume almost by accident.... and decided to buy it straight away ! Let me tell you why. It's a dupe of Chloe Chloe, which also happens to be one of my favourite scent ! I made a side by side comparison between Moi and the Chloe Chloe (yes, I own both of them now), and I must admit that while the top notes are slightly different, give Moi another 5 mins and both smell EXACTLY the same ! In terms of lasting power, Chloe Chloe wins hands down. Moi is almost like a strong body mist, but the fragrance really dont last (you can't really detect the scent after like 4 hours). For those of you who are looking for a cheaper alternative, get Moi. Very value for money (only AUD20/100ml). At one sixth the price of Chloe, you can use this deliberately, without feeling too much of a pinch in the pocket. I'm giving it 4 stars, simply because of its weak lasting power.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 3/6/2013 10:55:00 PM

I was recommended to GA's foundation, and have read countless glowing reviews about this product. On the packaging aspect, it comes in a simplistic glass bottle, with a built-in pump. The quality of material that the bottle is made of is top notch, there are no leakages with the pump, nor is the bottle filmsy or anything like that. The foundation itself spreads out in a liquid form. But what is amazing about it is it applies onto the skin seamlessly, and has an end effect of cashmere. Yes, cashmere. Coverage wise is medium, so don't expect it to cover all scars and marks (a separate concealer is needed for this). Unlike most foundations I've used, this one makes my skin sooo comfortable. It does not leave any trace of oiliness, neither does it finish with a matte effect. If you're looking to achieve that dewy skin look, this foundation does this for you. It has good lasting power, and comes with SPF 20 too. Hands down the best foundation I've ever used ! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a foundation with medium coverage and a dewy look. The only set back is probably the price. Very expensive.

Treatments -Trilogy - Age Proof Nutrient Plus Firming Serum
rated 5 of 5
apgoh2 1/22/2013 6:14:00 AM

Another wonderful product from Trilogy ! This water-based serum claims to hydrate, brighten and tone the face. It comes in a tinted glass bottle with a sturdy pump. Texture wise, the serum dispenses in a watery form, and has the scent of rosehip. I like this product because it is extremely light-weight (it does not leave any residue or traces of oil), spreadable and absorbs onto the skin almost instantaneously ! It also surprisingly left my skin feeling a little more taut (if you've ever applied raw aloe vera juice onto your skin, you'll know what I mean). I've been using this day and night for 1 month as a replacement for moisturiser. I have combination skin, and this worked out just fine for me. If you're looking for intense hydration, I'd recommend layering moisturiser on top of this. I cannot tell if it brightens my skin because I'm constantly out in the sun. Trilogy does it again with this product. Highly recommended !
