This is a new product by L'OREAL. I used it because I had gotten some briht highlights and I wanted them dulled. So I tried it. It's pretty thick. Smells okay. It worked awesome. It took MOST of the brassy color out of my hair, and still left it feeling healthy. All I have to say is WOW. I think this is definatly the new qucik fix for me!

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL volume+length microfiber mascara
apaintedsmile 5/18/2005 1:30:00 AM
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I hate mascara, I'm always left with black smudged under eyes. BUT, this stuff is awesome. I use the regular, non-waterproof, mascara. -First the "white" primer. I found that applying this to the tips only is the best way. -Start at mid lash and be light. Sometimes i let it dry, and do a second coat to get longer lashes. -Wait for it to dry!! -Finish with the "black" mascara. Wait until each coat dries or it will clump. Some things I have found: -It doesn't have a smell or burn unless you're rubbing it ON your eyeballs (so i assume) -I can sleep with it on and wake up and run. It doesn't smudge, even when i have rubbed my eyes. -YES it does flake off after a night or sleep or consistant rubbing, and its just the microfiber tips that come off. -MOST IMPORTANT: at least a few people a day comment on how long my eyelashes look.

Skincare - Face -Bath and Body Works - Pure Simplicity Skin Care Systems (all)
apaintedsmile 11/4/2004 12:24:00 PM
I bought a Rice sampler pack. I have used everything for my normal skin(small breakouts around periods, major stress, but very clear skin). Soap makes my face tight, Clean and Clear, Clearesil, all meant for ACNE and dry out my skin SO bad. Pure simplicity, OH MY GOD... my skin feels real. Not tight, dry, oily....AND it feels pure, not astringenty like C&C, Clearisil, etc. And not greasy like soap or creamy shower gels.....As expensive as it was, the sampler bottle lasted me 2 months. So this 12 one should last me triple that at least. SO WORTH IT.

Hair -L'Oreal - Preference True Brunettes
apaintedsmile 11/4/2004 12:11:00 PM
After always using Couleur Experte for so long i thought, hey a coloring system for brunettes and NO BRASS?!! I thought i could get a nice all over brown, like i did when i used Open. WAS I WRONG..... Since using Experte i had blonde, yellow, and brassy highlights. When i used the light ash brown all off my higlights turned green and grey, and i mean GREEN. ... It didn't look bad in YELLOW light, but lucky for me i work under bright white lights..... I called the company and some monotone jerk answer and she acted as if she was know all princess. She told me i had to shampoo for two weeks with non color shampoo. Instead i went out that day and bought a shade of brown by Feria, and it was fine..... I'm sure it's a fine line, but don't use the ash shades unless you want nonvibrant, gray, gross hair..... I would also like to mention it made my hair look dyed and fried, and really dryed it out....

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Couleur Experte -hair dye / highlight

I've used this stuff for almost 2 1/2 years. I've tried mainly Brioche, Biscotti, Toasted Coconut. I get it at Walmart for about $15. Other stores are still around $20. I love them all. My hair is naturally medium brown. However it's been every color. Yes you will get a more orange yellow tone with dark hair, but when used well it can look GREAT. (WATCH OUT FOR ANYTHING(!!!!) WITH ASH IN IT. I'VE MADE THAT MISTAKE TWICE AND I GOT GREEN/GRAY HAIR.) The base color is awesome. and YES the bleach is (oh my gosh) BLEACH. SO yes, darker, redder tones will turn orange. BUT be daring, leave the bleach in for longer than the time, it does lighten. I have DARK hair and i have had GOOD blonde highlights from this. PATIENCE. Be patient, and take your time. YES the mascara highlighter is a pain, but be patient. i find it best to go a few strands front, middle back, and then do some subtle highlights after. I found if you work front to back or vice versa and not RANDOMLY then you get a weird light-dark fade on your head that looks dumb. I've also lifted up underneath and threw a few in for added highlights. Another tip from a hairdresser friend is if your hair is taking well to the bleach and you're not done highlighting, rinse out what you have done, and then finish it. This way you wont have REALLY dramatic highlights, and then a bunch of lame ones. If you don't like the results, here's a tip...Go back to walmart, and buy another thing of hair dye. Once my highlights(it was night and dim where i did it) where too bright for my base color. I went to the store, grabbed a box of light brown dye, and threw it on for about 10 minutes, and it dulled them. Just remember, the hair salon is really expensive, and their products are just as bad for your hair. I've been dying my hair for about 6 years and this is the ONLY hair dye (aside from Open) in which my hair wasn't addicted to conditioner after. It hasn't dried, fried, or ruined my hair and this week will be my probably 7 time using it.
