Treatments (Eye) -Promaxyl - Eyelash Renewal serum Rapidlash
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 11/20/2009 5:52:00 PM

I have nothing but praises for this little miracle in a tube. The only other lash lengthening product I've tried was Ardell's (if I remember correctly) and that didn't do a thing. Rapidlash was a bit expensive to try, but I'm very happy with the results. I started noticing results within just a few days of nightly application. I've been using it for about 2 months now and I have much longer and curlier lashes. Happy :)

Styling Products -The Body Shop - Macadamia straightening balm
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 9/2/2009 5:04:00 PM

I picked this up haphazardly while shopping at TBS. It just so happened that I ran out of smoothing serum and I saw this. The packaging was cute so I tried a little bit on my hair and it seemed to sit nicely. But a lot of times with hair products it's nice at first until a few days later I always find something wrong with it. But with this one I fell more in love with it after each use! It's very lightly scented, smoothes the hair, and doesn't leave the hair greasy at the end of the day. Total love! Will repurchase.

I love how this tints my lips pink and looks completely natural. Glides on smooth and lasts normal for moisturizing lipsticks. I've already used up a lot

Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE long and curl mascara (black)
rated 4 of 5
annypooh 8/8/2008 4:12:00 PM

Honestly this is not a bad product, although not as outstanding as the other Kiss Me Active Girl Series. But this mascara does what it promises to do: elongate and curl the lashes. It's also nice that it doesn't clump and the lashes look quite natural. Not my first choice in mascaras, but a nice one to have.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Flusterose
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 8/7/2008 4:52:00 PM

This is my favorite lustreglass. It's my staple for going out because the texture is surprisingly long lasting and yet it's very smooth, shiny, and not sticky. It doesn't leave a thick film of gloss like Mac's lipglosses. Flusterose is such a pretty color it is almost like a cool pink.

Eyeliner -MAC - Phone Number eye kohl
rated 5 of 5

My favorite pencil eyeliner! I love how this is a dark metallic grey. It's not too harsh and the pencil isn't so hard that you can't blend it. Yet it's hard enough to draw a clean line too if you prefer. I love using this to line the bottom lashes. A favorite!

Eye Shadow -Kanebo - KATE Dual Carat eyeshadow duo
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 8/7/2008 2:25:00 PM

The two-colored eyeshadow compact comes with a mini sponge applicator. The shadows are very soft and pigmented. And as the name suggests, it's quite sparkly. I have this in BR1 and PU1. PU1 does not especially stand out to me. It's just a silver paired with a dark purple. The silver isn't very sparkly and the purple I found a bit boring. I need to work with other extra shadows if I want to bring more of a oomph to this palette. The BR1 however is fantastic! It's my favorite brown. The base color is a yellowish beige that's very shiny, and I just hit pan on this! The brown is also sparkly and very pigmented. It looks boring, but when applied I always feel very pretty with this!

Blush -Kesalan Patharan - Face colour
rated 5 of 5

I bought the color S001 from the Spring collection in 2007. This is LE. It's a great peachy pink color that I found myself reaching far more than I expected. Within a year I couldn't believe I had hit pan!! The powder glides on smoothly and gives a very natural, radiant look. I'm looking forward to trying other KP blushes!

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Blue for Women
rated 4 of 5
annypooh 8/7/2008 1:51:00 PM

I got samples of this when it first came out and took an immediate liking to it. After my samples ran out I've always thought about this fragrance. Finally lately I had the urge to try to purchase it, only to realize it's no longer sold at places like Sephora. I guess that means it's being discontinued and found it at places like Target. It's a bit of a pity because I really love this scent. It makes me feel very clean, crisp and cool. I don't understand why it's being discontinued - does everyone else not like the scent? One drawback I've noticed though is that it doesn't seem to last very long. At the end of the day it is pretty much all faded.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cheyenne Duo
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 6/18/2008 4:01:00 PM

So after swapping away most of my Nars duos and having completely lost interest and faith in this brand, I haphazardly saw a makeup artist using a Nars duo on a TV show and was instantly drawn. Maybe it was because the model was pretty? So I immediately went to Nars' website to look for the shade that would match what they used. I wasn't exactly sure, and since I have Sephora right by my corner AND Sephora store credit, I ran there to check it out in person. I found this duo and tested it on my hand. The colors had great pigment, but I thought it was a bit bright for my taste. One is an orange-ish golden color, and the other is a reddish, plummy purple that has a heavy hint of brown when applied. Nonetheless, I was itching for a purchase, so I bought them anyway. I tried it on the next morning and loved the texture and pigment! The colors showed up great, and the golden shade works well with a light hand. In addition to the two colors in the duo, I use a light beige as an all over base, then also add a darker purple to the crease. The result is perfect!

Moisturizers -Aesop - Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 2/29/2008 2:13:00 PM

Aesop is an Australian brand that uses natural ingredients, on the expensive side, and a bit hard to find in the US. Luckily in NYC it's not that hard, and I got mine at Barneys. It can also be ordered online. I'm not a big fan of their packaging. It's rather scientific-like, coming in dark brown glass bottles. With that being said, this is the ONLY moisturizer I am using. I love the fact that it is oil free AND silicone free. The first bottle I used, the serum was clear. However, I just recently repurchased and now this bottle the serum is a bit yellow. Not sure if they changed anything, but I feel like this bottle the consistency is slightly runnier, but I don't get that initially sticky feeling I got from my first bottle. Anyhow, the serum applies evenly, smells lightly of botanicals, and preps my skin well for my sunscreen. I can't say that it's highly beneficial in terms of solving any problems (ie wrinkles or pores) but I'm just happy that it does not aggravate my skin and does the job of moisturizing well. The price is a bit expensive at $55+tax for a 100mL bottle, but for me it's well worth it.

Really disappointed! The products claims to vertically lift and elongate your lashes by a certain percentage, but all this product this was bring down my curled lashes! This mascara was a complete waste of my money. Next!

Concealers -Ettusais - Whitening Concealer
rated 4 of 5
annypooh 6/15/2007 4:45:00 PM

Just fyi, they've discontinued this product in early '07, I believe. It was nowhere to be found in Japan, but I managed to find it in Taiwan. Took off one lippie because it contains dimethicone - but ALL Japanese foundations, concealers, powders contain some form of silicone, which is disappointing. Anyhow... this concealer covers blemishes really well. It's very creamy and smooth and comes in a cute pearl white packaging. Not sure about the whitening effect, but overall good product!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Knight Divine

Love this! It's such a perfect color for creating smokey eye. But not just that, it's also very wearable for day time - with a light hand and lots of blending. I've been wearing this almost every day now.....

Liquid -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
rated 5 of 5
annypooh 6/15/2007 4:38:00 PM

Yay I love this! Finally found a foundation that does not contain any sort of silicones. The make up goes on really natural, is easy to apply and smoothes out my face. I found that when I finish it off with Becca loose powder, I can control shine for quite a few hours, which is really good :) Most importantly, it's not breaking me out.................
