Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Physiogel - AI Sun Cream
annqay 3/15/2013 1:01:00 PM
I got this one from my dermatologist. Its SPF is a bit too low for my needs, clarification: I have very pale and sensitive skin and said doctor adviced me to use SPF 30-50, only on cloudy days -which I experience a lot in Northern Germany - I could switch to a sunscreen with less protection. For me it is quite a hazard to find a decent sunscreen that I tolerate, I cannot have alcohol or perfume in it, it must not be too drying (like many mineral only sunscreens do) and several chemical compounds sting my eyes. Therefore I was very pleased to notice that this sunscreen was just nice: no stinging, no drying, neither alcohol nor perfume. Best part: Tinosorb S and Titanium Dioxide as filters only: no Avobenzone. Only downside for me was the SPF - I would have given it 5 stars if it was higher. Unfortunately, our love wasn't meant to last. I've just recently been notified that they won't produce this sunscreen any longer and sold the last patches. Boohoo. I only hope I'll find an adequate sunscreen soon but so far I haven't been lucky.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Sa Majesté la Rose

Rose. Wow. Pure rose. I just "met" this scent again yesterday after several months of ignorance and it hit me again: the best rose scent ever. Dark, earthy, full, deep red, almost purple-brown. I think it is one of the easiest to combine with other SL-perfumes, i.e. Serge Noir, Ambre Sultan or Fleur d'Oranger. I will definitely purchase this one - so far, I only had a couple of samples.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Un Bois Sepia

I love this scent. In my nose, it is warm, a bit spicy but definitely not cologne-like. But this is something I have with the SL-perfumes anyway: I am always drawn to the ones that are seen as the "more masculine" ones - and I totally fail to see that. (Maybe I just connect other scents to "masculinity, I don't know.) Anyway, this one stays on pretty well, and I don't even have a problem with "too much" of it whereas I often tend to get headaches by perfumes. This is just like a very soft and warm blanket for me without being powdery or sweet (it has a hint of sweetness, but it is not fruity but spicy-sweet).

Mascara -MAC - Opulash Optimum Black mascara
annqay 10/19/2012 5:47:00 AM
Bought this one after I ran out of the usual Opulash. I find this one a bit dryer but also very nice and will definitely repurchase one of them. Due to the noted dryness I noticed a bit more flaking. And I had a bit more trouble getting it off in the evening (but it worked fine with some micellar water or oil). Regarding the colour I'm not sure whether it is my imagination playing tricks on me or whether it really is a tiny bit "blacker". I don't know. And it's not really important to me (I only bought this one because the regular one was out). What I love about it is that I only need one or two coats to get real volume and colour and it doesn't clump rightaway. Update: I take off one lipstick since it began flaking annoyingly over the last days. I still find this a very nice mascara and it hasn't flaked for the first months as others I tried before did right from the beginning but in comparison to the usual Opulash it just ... flakes. More. Annoyingly more.

Mascara -MAC - Opulash
annqay 10/19/2012 5:42:00 AM
First MAC mascara, but I really like it. It thickens my lashes without getting too clumpy. It is not waterproof but stays where it is supposed to, even in humid weather. Plus: I can remove it with only water or cleansing lotion. When I ran out of it I repurchased the Optimum Black version which I find a bit dryer but also very nice. Will repurchase one of them again.

Shampoo -Eucerin - Anti-schuppen shampoo
annqay 10/12/2012 3:36:00 AM
Hm, I have to spoil the party. Yes, it worked regarding the dandruffs. And since I bought it for exactly that purpose, I'd say: fine. On the other hand, it brought me painful bumps related to ingrown hair. It took me some time to realize this was related to my hoped-to-be-a-miracle-shampoo but when I stopped using it, the bumping stopped immediately as well. Maybe the urea is just too much for me - too soothing...

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - ECO Logical Face SPF 30+
annqay 10/7/2012 5:33:00 AM
Uh, that smell. Wow. I had read about it but it hit me like a very unexpected wall. Wow. To be fair, I am very sensitive regarding smells and especially on my facial skin I can only tolerate a few (I prefer: none at all). This smell unfortunately hang around for the best of the day. But I could have accepted it if the rest had been working for me. Due to an extremely picky skin I don't find tolerable skincare, not to mention sunscreen, easily. Unfortunately again, this sunscreen stung my skin sometimes when my skin was a bit irritated. I don't know how it actually behaved in the sun protection department since I could not try it out for a longer sunny period. Therefore, I'll give it a 3 with some goodwill.

Skincare - Body -Weleda - Lavender Body Oil
annqay 10/7/2012 5:14:00 AM
I bought this oil several times and I use it for a lot of purposes: as a massaging oil, after the shower, make-up removal, for my hair... I love the smell and contrary to another reviewer I think it is quite strong. But I noticed that the smell changed over time and sometimes you get a charge with a slightly different smell. It is nature, after all. ;)

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL SPF 60 Fluide Extreme
annqay 8/20/2011 1:29:00 PM
I used this one first in northern germany - where it wasn't that great because it was too light for my skin (tendency to atopic dermatitis, allergies, sensitive to sun _and_ several sunscreen ingredients...) and I had to combine it with another cream my skin accepted but the combination ... sucked. Now I got back to the anthelios fluide while I was on vacation in south france and there it worked fine (it was a lot warmer and my skin did not need that extra layer of cream). I had one or two little pimples but I cannot tell for sure whether or not they were related to the fluide (I guess they were because I am quite sceptical about the contained silicone but this may only be a preconception). Apart from that it saved me from any redness and burning and my skin felt secured and smooth.

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer
annqay 8/6/2011 11:34:00 AM
I was looking for a concealer to cover not only my midnight dark under eye circles but also those annoying pimples that keep coming along from time to time. It was always the same problem: either the concealer concealed the spots but was unwearable on my eyes (too drying, wrong colouring) or it worked moderately on the eyes but my spots shone more than ever. With this concealer all my problems are solved. It still is not perfect for my under eye area (I have to assume that those shadows can only be concealed by too much photoshop) but it works better than any other concealer/make up I've met so far. For reference: I am quite fair skinned and I use no.1 which seemed too fair at first but it blends in well.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara
annqay 8/6/2011 11:20:00 AM
Very nice everyday-mascara (adds more legth than volume). It can handle quite a lot of rain without running or smudging. At the same time it is easy to remove with my usual cleanser (which - oddly enough - works far better than the EL eye makeup remover I had as a gift coming along with the mascara). The only critique I have is that sometimes small particles come into my eyes which are pretty sensitive and turn red within seconds. But I assume that this problem is related to the "waterproofness" of the mascara - I noticed this performance nearly everytime I chose waterproof ones - and mostly it was far worse than this mascara. All in all a good lengthening mascara.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
annqay 8/6/2011 11:01:00 AM
So far the best microfoliant ever (of the ones I tested). Even my extremely sensitive skin is getting along with it very well. I don't use it on a daily basis but I think it could be working for people with less sensitive skin. But I feel my skin does not need (and probably wouldn't tolerate) a daily exfoliating. Since dermalogica is quite pricey in continental Europe I ordered it in UK where I could save 50%. Will repurchase if I ever run out of it.
