This is my Favorite product from LUSH for so many reasons. This product smells amazing and produces amazing bubbles. It also transforms the water and makes my skin feel and smell so good for hours after I get out of the bath. I used to not be a "bath" person but this product completely changed that!! It also mixes well with other bath products. No matter what kind of bath I'm drawing, I always put a slice of this stuff in.
I love this set, it is my first from too faced, and I will definitely be trying other ones. I, like many others, was able to buy this palette for a very good price ($12.00 CAD), and it was worth every penny. It comes with 6 shadows and 6 lip products. To be honest, I haven't tried the lip products yet, but I am in love with the shadows. They are wonderfully pigmented and they have all of the basic shades that you need for an every day look. (and a couple fun looks as well). I think that this would be a good palette to take when I travel because I wouldn't need to bring any other shadows, and the packaging on my is sturdy enough to be thrown around a bit. Also, because of the price I wouldn't be devastated if it got lost, which is always something to think about while traveling. So all in all, for me it was worth it for the 6 shadows, and maybe the 6 lip products with be a bonus once I get around to trying them. It seems like there are many ways to get a good deal on this palette, so I would say take advantage of that and go out and pick on up.. I think it is a great addition to any collection (oh and the packaging is adorable).
Lips -Cover Girl - TruShine Lipstick [DISCONTINUED]

So I have around 10 shades of this lipstick from natural's to brights. I got these all actually for free from a Women's Resource Center that I go to. I don't know if the packaging on mine is messed up and that's why they gave away a huge box of these to the Center, but I hate the packaging. If I take the packaging completely off there are no markings to tell me the shade, which is just stupid. With that said, the product itself I find amazing. I would say it's the perfect combination of a gloss and a lipstick. I find that all of the shade adjust to my lips natural color after I apply them. They keep their intensity but still come off as sheer which I really enjoy for daytime wear. They don't last a long time, especially if you are drinking and eating, but they are really easy to apply, so I just always throw whichever one i'm wearing in my bag. Overall, a great product that I would definitely re-purchase if I ever run out.
Moisturizers -Arbonne - FC5 Nurturing Day Lotion with SPF 20

*note* I have the FC5 Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion with SPF 20, so I hope this is the same thing? Okay so I bought this along with the Cleanser+Toner for oily skin because my sister tried it and Loved it! For the two of them I think I paid $65 CAD, which is a lot more than I like to dish out (but I guess at par with brands such as Clinique). I have been using it for just over a month and I can safely say that so far this is the best skin care regimen I have ever tried. I never get pimples anymore, and it has evened out the rest of my skin tone. My sister, who has been using the same products for about 5 months now look's like she has a new set of skin. It is really amazing stuff. When I received the product I didn't think it looked like a lot for what I paid, but you only have to use such a tiny bit so it really does last. After a month I have just made a little dent into each of these products. I would say definitely try these products as a pair. I will probably keep re-purchasing until my skin matures a bit, and then hopefully I can go back to drug-store brand products. These products do a really good job at keeping my t-zone oil free throughout the day! I wear the just wear the moisturizer and ditch the face primer under my light foundation. The thing that I love the most is that they feel like they are really sinking into your skin and healing it, rather than sitting on the surface and covering it up.
Personally, this is my HG body wash when it comes to body acne. Okay, taking into account I don't have severe body acne, I am still very self conscious about it. This product has seriously worked wonders for me. I have had a lot of luck with Neutrogena products in the past (facial wash etc.). I tried the Pink Grapefruit one and it didn't work as well for me as the Original. This product manages to get rid of all of my spots without drying out my skin. The only reason this product doesn't get 5 stars for me, is because the scent isn't amazing, but honestly I am happy with it the way it is. Also, if I need extra moisture i will wash my body with this first, and then use a moisturizing body wash over top of it, and it still seems to work perfectly.
Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Therapeutic Conditioning Balm in Blackberry Creme
annalea 11/12/2009 10:43:00 PM
I bought this, for the same reason as I bought all of my e.l.f. products, because it was cheap.. and I was happy with about half of what I ordered but this is one of those items where it's not even worth your Dollar! There is no pigmentation, it is extremely greasy, it slides into my mouth and tastes horrible.. There are MANY dirt cheap lip balm's out there that actually help treat your lips and feel and look so much better than this one.. It was a true waste of money.
So, I guess you could say this boring, but it is my most used shade.. ever. i used to always use a white for my highlight under my brow but now i use this... and if i want a very soft shadow, i will put this on underneath and then bend it out.. And if i don't want to look like I'm wearing eyeshadow I put this on and it just covering any imperfections on my eye lids and absorbs the oil. This shade is the same as my skin tone and i just love it, i think having a matt shadow that match's your skin tone should be a MUST in everybody's makeup bag!
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Brown Sugar and Fig Body Lotion
annalea 10/13/2009 3:10:00 AM
OH MY! Unfortunately there are NO Bath and Body work's store's around me BUT when my family takes trips down to the US I always make sure to pick up a bottle of this stuff... Mind you, I haven't tried many fragrances from BABW but I am SO addicted to this lotion that I feel no need to try anything else! I have gone through many phases of wearing this and only this, and then I'll give it a break, and eventually come back to it! I love it so much. It is a great lotion and the smell is unbeatable! It's not to sweet, but smell's delicious! I will also rub a little through my damp hair before I blow dry and it makes my hair soft and people pick up on the scent a little bit better! All in all, this is a staple in my body products, and i recommend it to anybody and everybody!
I have to agree with everybody who posted about the curve being the wrong way! It drives me absolutely nut's! I got these clippers in a pedicure set from Tweezerman and thought that they would be amazing clippers, until i opened the set and saw that they where curved the Wrong Way! What a let down. The horrible part is that they are AMAZING clippers with an easy grip handle, sharp, clean cut's etc etc... but I never use them because they are the wrong way! If i ever find a pair that is curved the normal way then I will not hesitate to buy them, but until then I am putting these in my "duds" box.
Wow! So... nobody likes to admit that they have callus' on their feet but honestly I have a lot, and they are really embarrassing. I love going to get a pedi but the results don't last long enough to keep my callus' at bay. When I was stopping at Sally's I was just looking for replacement blades for my "Sally Hansen" brand callus shaver and came across the Tweezerman Pedicure Set... It was loaded with files and clippers, and all sorts of amazing goodies but the most amazing product in this thing was the Callus Shaver.. Among many other thing's this kit also came with TWENTY!!! replacement blades, and i paid just over $20 CAD for the entire kit! On Topic: The callus shaver is the best I have ever used, In face I get better results using this than when I go to a professional! I do want to note that I have really really bad callus' so there is a lot to remove without being damaging to my foot! But seriously, this thing made it so simple and fast to remove all of my calluses with ease! My feet have never felt smoother or softer and looked so pretty! Seriously, for anybody suffering from callused feet I urge you to go out and try this! The drugstore brand DO NOT compare! And I got such a good deal buying it in this kit! I would re-purchase the entire kit because in total I get 21 uses of this callus remover for just over 20 dollar's! Not to mention all of the other pedicure stuff I get, so really, this was dirt cheap for me!! It say's on the box it normally retail's for $35 CAD, but I would not hesitate to pay that price for it....
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55
annalea 10/13/2009 2:44:00 AM
Okay! So I have extremely pale skin and last summer I was working outdoors which created a huge problem for me, because I don't tan, I just burn. I decided to invest in a "more expensive" sunblock (compared to the banana boat I previously used), because my skin is VERY sensitive and will break out if I'm not careful. I bought this sunscreen for my body and I LOVED IT! As far as cream sunblocks go this one is the best I have ever used. It ended up working so good on my body that I was able to use it as a facial moisturizer for the summer instead of my regular moisturizer! I love that it comes in such high strength's because I need a lot of protection! I also didn't find that I had to keep re-applying to be protected. I now use a different sunblock for my body because I find the spray sunblocks are a lot more convenient (personally, i prefer aveno's spray sunblock), but I still use this for my face All summer long and it has never caused a break out or a dry patch! (i have mostly oily skin).
I Love this color for when I am looking for something that is a little bit more fun and unique. I think this color is very playful, yet at the same time toned down (unlike neon color's), so it is more wearable. It lasted an entire week on my nail's without chipping (with a top coat), and in that week I had so many people compliment me on my nail's and ask me where the color was from. I just bought a bunch of china glaze color's, so i won't be re-applying "for audrey" right away, but I am excited to put it on again when I get the opportunity... and if i ever run out I wouldn't think twice about re-purchasing this product... in fact I'm thinking about getting a back up (or two) incase they discontinue it... and I'm also going to through it in with a few of my friends gift's this christmas because they love it.
This is my favorite lipstick. I love the color, the texture, AND the stay-power. I rarely wear this shade on it's own unless I'm going for a really intense look. My favorite gloss to wear over UTA is Cultured... but I also enjoy lighter frosty pink's, and matte pink's as well. I just find layering it adds dimension and makes it a more wearable color for an everyday look.
So.. i was so excited to purchase this product because of all of the hype. I heard it was "the most flattering blush for any skin tone" probably 100 times. So I thought, what the hell and strayed away from my MAC blush's and went out and purchased this blush. Well, this color is not flattering on my skin tone at all... in fact it makes me look like I have a rash on my cheek's. If I put a little bit on it doesn't show and if I put a lot on I get this "shimmer-rash" look, which isn't appealing at all. I might try layering it on top of darker shadows in the winter for a bit of a highlight because other wise it is a lot of money down the drain. Either way I was pretty disappointed. I got it is a set with laguna bronzer and Orgasm Nail Polish. I do like the bronzer but I thought the nail polish was complete crap (it wasn't very pigmented and my brush was frayed and crooked) This was my first NARS purchase everywhere, and honestly, I probably won't be back at the NARS counter for a Very Very Long time!!!
This is an amazing product that I love and all of my friends with extremely different skin tones, textures, and problems love it as well. I have about 3 different shade of this product right now so I'm covered when I tan or when I am pale. I used to use this powder every day but I just switched up my routine and this is just too much over Studio Sculpt Foundation (for my needs at least).. I do keep one in my purse for touch ups during the day.. and also if I am short on time I just use a bit of concealer on my problems area's and then put this on top... and my skin isn't as perfect as I like but it is the best coverage in a pinch. A lot of my friends just wear this with nothing underneath and it is enough for them. This is definitely a product that I will repurchase until the day I die.. it is the best of it's kind hands down!
