Foundations -Too Faced - Amazing Face Oil Free Close-Up Coverage

I asked for a sample of this foundation (in Warm Vanilla) while at Sephora. Iím glad I didnít purchase this foundation. I was really hoping it would deliver what it says it would. Unfortunately it did not work for me. It didnít provide the coverage my skin needs, had to go over the skin few times to cover up few ďflawsĒ. Also, it did nothing to control the oil ! I think I was more oily than I normally am. I will stick with my reliable Merle Norman foundation for now (fyi: love the Lasting Foundation and the Aqua Balance).
Love the color....I was looking for something like this for a while. Perfect nude shade but have to re-apply it quite often.
I have the Soft Touch Eye Pencil in Blackout and it's great. It's soft and it says on for a long time. Love it, definitely one of my favorites !
I was using Boscia for about a year before trying the Acne Kit from Philosophy (along with the kit I used the Microdelivery Peel as well). So after two weeks of using Philosophy it seemed as though my skin looked clear and more radiant and my skin didnít need as much cover up as usual. But on the third week my chin and around my cheeks the acne got so bad ! I never had a problem like that with Boscia and Iím not completely sure if it was any of the Philosophy products that caused the severe breakout but I was not using anything else at that point so it just points into that direction. I stopped using the kit and went back to Boscia and my skin seems to get better now. I was really hoping that this kit would work for me but after the nasty breakout Iím nervous to go back to it. I think I will return the kit and for now go back to Boscia until I find something better.
So after reading all the great reviews for this foundation, I headed for the Merle Norman Studio. First of all, the gentleman that was helping me was great ! He didnít push me to buy any other products; he was very knowledgeable and gave me few samples. So Iíve been on a search for my HG foundation and I think this might be it (but Iíll always keep my eyes opened for something new). Iíve been using this for about a week now and I have to say Iím impressed. It spreads easily, provides nice coverage without looking cakey !!! Probably the most important thing is that it lasts long (compared to anything else I tried) and itís great for my super oily skin ! I think after 4 hours, my skin starts to look just a bit oily BUT still when compared to any other foundations I tried, 4 hours is so much better than having oily skin after only 1 hour ! At the end of the day, it is rather difficult to wash it off completely but I donít mind the extra effort. SO, this foundation is great for oily skin (at least it worked for me when nothing else did) and it doesnít look like Iím wearing tons of foundation, the overall effect is great ! After reading some other reviews I think I will try this along with the powder foundation.

I really really wanted to like this product and really hoped it would work ! Iím so disappointed that it didnít work for me especially after reading that it did work so well for many others. Right after I would apply it, yes the skin seemed very smooth and matte but seriously only an hour after that I was super oily (no change). So Iím still looking for something to help control the oil, I think I will try Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Oil Control Lotion.
Foundations -Vichy - Dermablend Corrective Foundation

So Iíve been using this foundation for about a week and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. This foundation will cover any imperfections so flawlessly, really amazing. I am very happy with the way it will provide great coverage without looking cakey. I use a foundation brush to apply it and it works well for me and really, a small amount of this stuff will go a very long way. However, because I do have very oily skin this foundation will not stay on for a long time but then again, with my skin I really do not expect it to (but still it stays on a bit longer than any other foundations I have tried). Either way, I am pretty happy with this foundation and I will continue to use it unless something better comes along in terms of controlling my oily skin.
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve

I really like this, itís moisturizing and spreads easily. I like the smell as well. The only complaint I have itís that the cover sometimes gets stuck and itís hard to open. I will definitely re-purchase (but probably wonít have to for a long time since thereís so much product in the small tin).
Lip Treatments -Caudalie - Grapeseed Lip Conditioner
ann5151 3/31/2008 11:26:00 AM
Unfortunately this product didnít work for me. It was hard to spread and believe it or not made my lips even more chapped. I tried the Smithís Rosebud Salve and it worked much, much better for me (which is also half the price of Caudalie).
Iím not crazy about this product. I donít see any major difference, maybe the puffiness does decrease a little, but very little, and it does nothing for the dark circles. Be careful when applying it, couple of times it got into my eye and it sting. Iím pretty sure I wonít be repurchasing this. Iím glad though that itís working out for some of you :)

I really wanted to love this foundation and thought that just maybe my search for the perfect foundation has ended. Unfortunately, that isnít the case. The texture of this foundation is lovely but only an hour after applying it I was already oily. Also, I wasnít really happy with the coverage it provided.
Skincare - Face -Boscia - Clear Complexion Kit with Botanical Blast
ann5151 2/20/2008 11:33:00 AM
Iíve been using the Clear Complexion Kit for about a month now and so far I am very happy with it. I used tons of various products before and my last one was Origins (and Boscia is working out for me much better than Origins). The products are very gentle and do not irritate the skin at all. It leaves my skin smooth and it doesnít dry it out. I think that there are already some improvements with my skin. Iíve been also using the Smoothing Facial Polish and Clarifying Detox Mask and both are very gentle and once again they donít irritate the skin at all. So far, Iím loving Boscia and Iím excited to see the continuous progress (hopefully) with even more time :)
So Iíve been using this foundation for about a week now. Iím a little torn about this product. I really love the coverage and the perfect color match. I do need medium coverage and this does the job very well. Also, the salesperson for Prescriptives did an awesome job finding a good color match. HOWEVER, I do have very oily skin and unfortunately this foundation doesnít stay matte for a long time. I do have to use the oil-absorbing sheets just as much as I always do Ė no change. I wish it stayed matte for as long as the foundation from ďMake Up For EverĒ (but that one seriously dried out my skin and it was pretty obvious). So I guess, Iím still on a search for that perfect foundation.
I never used any primers before but from reading a lot of the reviews it seemed as though I should probably include one in my morning routine. And I am glad that I did ! This stuff is really great ! I did not break out and it kept my make-up on for a lot longer plus it did help control the oil. It leaves my skin very soft and makes my make-up look nice and even.
Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation

After reading all the great reviews, I was very excited to try this foundation. I have some pros and cons. For the pros: I think this is the only foundation that I have ever tried that seems to control the oil. I really do have very oily skin and go through at least 10 oil-absorbing sheets a day. Iím very happy that finally thereís something that can somewhat control that. Iím still a little shiny but nowhere as close to what it was ! Also, it does seem to cover up fairly well, but not great, and itís very light ! Perhaps applying a little more would be better (it is my second day trying it out so Iím still figuring out what works). As for the cons: it really dried out my skin in some areas and itís pretty noticeable. Iíll probably have to use a very good amount of moisturizer to help out with that. Reading some other reviews I did notice that others have the same problem when it comes to this foundation. But I do love the fact that Iím no longer as shiny ! UPDATE: So I tried to moisturize A LOT and used a Primer and still my skin looked very dry ! :(
