This stuff is just great. It is a bit of a slow starter, but once you have used the stick a few times, it starts to thicken up, and moisturises very nicely. Much better than Vaseline, which coats your lips but doesn't give anything back.

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow - Light

I bought this to build up a light natural looking tan colour before my wedding. It did the trick. I applied it in circular motions after my shower each morning, and it didn't smear (bearing in mind I am a total novice). It also left a nice subtle glittery sparkle. It is only a light colour though, as the name suggests. The only real draw-back for me was the smell. It had the usual fake tan biscuit smell, which is a bit off-putting. I couldn't wear it all the time, for that reason. But fine for special occasions. And it does take a few days to build up, so plan in advance (but at least then you can't go too far wrong with the colour!). Foolproof.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20

This moisturizer made my skin really dry and tight, which is odd as I have pretty oily skin usually. By the end of the day my skin is feeling very mal-nourished; not a nice feeling at all. Also, it does nothing for my sun spots, so all of the pain and none of the gain. I wouldn't buy this again, I get much better results from much cheaper products.

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - Lip Therapy

Ooh, I am also going to be contraversial on this one. This was my HG product and desert island must-have for many years. But I am now going cold-turkey and battling against the addiction! I found out that in fact it does not moisturise your lips at all as it does not penetrate, it just sits on top. So I found myself re-applying so constantly as it had no staying power, and ended up with sore spotty over vaselined lips! Honestly, it is a terrible addiction! And it is true that your lips just stop making their own moisture if you use it too much. So there begins the hook. Scary.

Lip Treatments -Dove - Shimmering Silk Lipbalm

Vaseline has been my HG for years. However I recently found out that it doesn't actually penetrate the lips to provide long term moisture, it just sits on the top of your lips. Hence I was re-applying it every few mins in the end! So now looking for something which provides some kind of actual nourishment, so I can re-apply much less. This is actually OK stuff, apart from the fact that it makes your lips look quite white. Which in turn makes you look a bit ill! But the moisurising effect is quite good, and it smells lovely. Unfortunately I will keep on looking for my new HG though...
