This has to be a new solution for blackhead problems. I do not have a severe problem, but I am always conscious of the pores and the blackheads around my t-zone area. It comes in a box of 8, and I think the each pack lasts one generous application for the entire face. I have never used it completely on my face because I am only treating my problem areas, the infamous t-zone and the chin! It actually can last me a very long time, but I share with my sister who needs to use it more. I did wish it comes in small packs so people can rip one open as they need more. The sales agent recommended me to use it after the active pack (in the American version it's called, "Skin Renewal Pack") to rid of any dead skin first and ready up the pores for the mask to deep cleanse. After my first try with a consecutive of about 4 use, I noticed that the blackhead deposits are cleared up! I had even took a curious experiment and see what it does for inflamed breakouts. It actually made it darker, aka, it seems to kill off the red breakout. Although, I am unsure of its effectiveness with preventing breakouts and one of those it-hurts-and-will-breakout-but-it-looks-fine-now acne. I have to add a disclaimer to this, this is a mask to dissolve blackheads, I do not think it prevents blackheads buildup unless you use it few times weekly. I use this from weekly when I have the chance, it's only 3 minutes!

Moisturizers -H20 - Waterwhite Brightening Lotion SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
angel220fish 7/26/2009 9:14:00 PM

I had used this years and years back when I was in high-school, those days when I would be out and about in the sun during lunch times and passing periods, and walking home everyday for 20 minutes from school, and being in sunny California, using a sunscreen is a must. The spf I used was 15spf, and I really liked the citrus fragrance. The one thing I most disliked was that my face becomes oily in about 4-5 hours. Nevertheless, I did notice the evened skin tone and radiance that improved from the product. I would purchase this product again, in two conditions: higher spf with pa included that it tested well with combo/oily skin populations too

Masks -H20 - Waterwhite Brightening Mask

I'm not sure at this point if I would want to purchase again, the instructions said to put it on for 5 minutes, but a few times I would use it and it'd give me tingly burning sensation that I only dared to leave it on for 3 minutes. The clay has a pleasant citrus smell to it, and after using it I feel that my skin is cleaner and brightened, and becomes just slightly more oily than I usually would have, but is not a problem for me since I usually use the mask on the days that I decide to stay home relaxing. I thought, if I'm to brighten my face, why go out to the sun and undo my effort? It is quite expensive for the size, but considering I have used it for 20+ applications I think it was well worth it, and H20 sometimes have discounts on the products too.

Cleansers -H20 - Oil-controlling Cleansing Mousse
rated 4 of 5
angel220fish 7/26/2009 8:59:00 PM

I only use this in the morning, because I do not think it works well for night time deep cleansing. Judging it only for it's morning daily use, I really like how it does not give me a tight squeaky feel after the wash, leaving my face soft and supple especially when I'm in the desert areas when my skin becomes tighter from the heat or the cold drought. It's easy to work with since it's ready foamy as well. The price matching its quality is not too unreasonable either. As far as oil-controlling properties, it did enough for me to last many hours without going to the bathroom to wash my face even in the summer time when I am at home sometimes too lazy to put on anything on my face after the wash. I think the bottle is a bit too large, but it's in a plastic bottle so it is not too heavy either

Moisturizers -Shiseido - White Lucent Protective Moistuizer SPF 16
rated 3 of 5

I was looking for a product that would have whitening properties over time, not temporary. It does have a very super fine shimmer in the product that I like over Fancl's crystal pearl edition of sun guard. I had hoped that the spf was higher as well. Over all the product is good if I decide not to use it with a liquid foundation. I was using Neutrogena's Visibly even with it, because I prefer to have a moisturizing base before using the foundation. Within an hours time of complete application, I started to see the makeup flaking and come apart. It was really unpleasant for me to find out since I was in a hurry to be else where. Overall, it did not do what I wanted it to do, but the moisturizing worked well, at least I did not break out from using it daily, just that I can't have it on for more than 8 hours. Weighing out the price and the pros and cons, I decided this would be the first and the last time I will use this.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
rated 3 of 5

The one I have is a makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips. I purchased this at discounted price, and have used it for years. I do not put on make up regularly, and so this would suffice for me in general. The one part I dislike about it is that when it gets into my eyes, I can barely see! Everything becomes a blur even after I washed my face and took a shower. I like soaking it into a cotton pad and pressing it against my lids and lashes for about 10 seconds. It might be a better idea to use cotton swab for the lashes to clean the hard to rid residue, since the water-proof mascara only comes off easily with the cotton pad when I had it lightly applied, not when it's heavily applied, and the roots and creases is just way too much work for the cotton pad and irritation for my eyes. I have tried Lancome's Bi-Facil sample; I didn't think they differ but it has been a while so I might have forgotten. As far as I can remember, I didn't have the blurry problem with Lancome's. The price, however, is much more.

Sunscreen -Fancl - Fancl Sunguard spf 30
rated 3 of 5
angel220fish 7/26/2009 8:16:00 PM

The one I have is crystal pearl edition. It was given as a gift from my aunt so I don't know the price. However, Fancl products in Asia is often more affordable than the American online shop. I appreciate the fact that they were thoughtful enough to put some whitening substance into this because after smothering it on my face, I was at least a shade paler than I am during summer time. However, this is not true whitening, I felt that I had put on some powder with glitter all over my face. I do not want to look shimmy nor do I want to look paler than I wanted to be. During application, the glitter was all over my hands, and the things that I touched afterward. Hand-washing may get rid of some, but not all of it. Even after letting the sunscreen set into my face, I still feel a powdery layer on my face, and I even broke out a little here and there the next day when I had those long days (out the door 9a and won't hit the bathroom to wash my face till 9pm). For those hoping to see your natural skin color, I would not consider this product. I also would not use this if you decide to work out with a sunscreen. You have to shake this before using, meaning the whatever is in the product, it separates over time. is it oil? is it the glitter? or the whitening substance? I have no idea, and I did not enjoy using this product in general overall. I rather prefer other sunscreens I have used like Neutrogena ultra sheer and Anessa town use milky sunscreen. Anywho, I decided to give this a 3 rating because it is, afterall, a sunscreen of 30 spf pa +++. If it at least is able to do the minimum, I thought it deserves to be average.

Skincare - Face -Fancl - T-Zone Clear Essence
rated 4 of 5
angel220fish 7/26/2009 8:00:00 PM

I was attracted by the sales agent's demonstration of the product. She tested this product on my skin by smothering a layer of botanical oil first and rubbing the product to a smaller of the layer. Instantly, I saw that part of my skin become oil-free. Since I was in asia during summer time, it was humid and my skin that is usually combination oily became oily in that climate. I decided to buy it and tried it on the last few days I spent my vacation there. It reduced the oil shine on my skin, and I felt that the blemish I broke out during the trip was finally able to heal. When I returned to the States, my skin becomes much less oily so I passed on this product for my sister to try. Her skin is oil-prone and uses 2 sheets of blotting tissues a day. She is even more frustrated of breaking out using sunscreens due to the oil-prone problems. After she tried this product, she only needed to use 1 sheet, and her blemishes were able to heal instead of continuing to be inflamed. She also found a great sunscreen from the one I have been using (which I will review later). The part I did not like about this was the packaging. Generally I do not dislike a screw cap, but I dislike the fact that I cannot screw it tight easily because the tube was way too soft for me to grip for a tight screw. This is definitely something I would re-purchase. In Asia, this product is called "Pore Essence". As an Asian, I really prefer Asian skin care because of their origins to treat Asian skin, unlike other European/USA brands which I often find incompatible. This product clears up a lot of oiliness, although I do not think that this reduces your skin's ability to produce oil. To treat the problem at it's root, you will need hydration products for oily skin.
