Gels/Soaps -Jergens - Jergens Bar Soap - White
ancal89 12/28/2011 4:27:00 PM
I started using this soap this past summer when I got a pretty bad sunburn and my skin was too sensitive to use anything else on my face and body. I started washing my face with it and immediately my breakouts started to clear up. I have pretty sensitive skin anyway and it takes very little to cause me to break out. In the past 10 years I think I've used just about very skincare brand there is and I used to spend a lot of money on high end so-called "proven" products that either did nothing at all or irritated my skin causing me to break out more. This soap hasn't completely cleared up my skin but it has definitely improved it a lot. Removes all of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling dried out or tight. I think I pay about $4 for a pack of 6 bars and that lasts a long time. In my opinion skincare should be simple and not cost a fortune. Even if I made a seven-figure salary and could buy the fanciest cleansers in the world I don't think I would because this soap works that good for me. Try it!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Clear Skin Cream
ancal89 6/16/2011 3:32:00 PM
I've been using this at night for I guess two months now and I feel like it's making my skin worse. Before I was only using Clinique's Acne Solutions Face and Body Bar and my skin looked better than it had in years. I thought I would get even better results with this added to my night routine. I know with any new acne treatment you start your skin may get worse before it gets better, but after so many weeks or months with no good results you kind of have to admit that the product sucks. I'm going to keep using this for another few weeks but if I continue getting constant numerous breakouts like I have now then I will have to stop. Not saying this is a horrible product, it just won't work for everybody.

Cleansers -LUSH - Herbalism
ancal89 2/25/2011 2:50:00 PM
This isn't even really a "cleanser", more like a scrub that you would only use a few times a week. The smell isn't great but not horrible. I thought $11.50 USD was a little overpriced for such a small portion of product. I like that LUSH's products are all natural and handmade but they are weird and and awkward to use IMO. Anyway, the herbalism cleanser was okay for me but not something I would repurchase.

Blush -mark - Good Glowing Powder Blush -After Glow
ancal89 1/12/2011 2:29:00 AM
I want to say this is a pretty good dupe for NARS Orgasm blush because they look very similar. This is a very pretty blush and is very pigmented however it's a bit too sparkly for my taste and for my pale skin I would prefer a more rosey colored blush. I also wish Mark sold their blushes in compacts instead of cheap plastic containers. Overall this is a nice blush but just too sparkly for me.

Cleansers -Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser
ancal89 12/15/2010 3:40:00 PM
This cleanser is pretty similar to Cetaphil's facial cleanser for oily skin except that this actually lathers(some). For my acne-prone, very sensitive skin this is okay, not great. I feel like I have to use a lot of product to get a good enough lather to remove all of my makeup and my skin still seems irritated and is continuing to break out. This isn't a BAD cleanser by any means but it doesn't do anything special for me. Will continue using until bottle is empty but will switch to something else.

Moisturizers -Acne.org - Moisturizer
ancal89 9/25/2010 1:32:00 AM
This is probably the best moisturizer I've ever used and I'm surprised by the negative reviews. It absorbs very well and doesn't feel heavy on my skin. As far as it feeling greasy I haven't really had an issue with that. I try to moisturize my face regularly because supposedly dry skin can also cause breakouts. EDIT: Don't think I will buy again because this seems to make me break out, especially around my nose. If Dan made this completely oil free it would probably be better.

Pretty good shampoo, gets my oily hair really clean without drying it out too much. Coconut smell is fine. May buy again.

Conditioner -Paul Mitchell - the Detangler
ancal89 9/25/2010 1:01:00 AM
I bought this conditioner with Shampoo One and I hate to say that I don't think the quality of product is that much better than that of a drugstore brand conditioner. It does a decent(not great) job of getting tangles out but it doesn't make my hair look or feel fantastic. I don't see my self buying this again however I may try Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner which I think may be better.

Great lipstick and color. Nice matte finish that doesn't make lips look flaky and is long lasting. No weird smell that most other lipsticks have. Would definitely buy again.

Toners -Mario Badescu - Special Cucumber Lotion
ancal89 8/31/2010 1:16:00 PM
I received this as a sample and I was really excited about trying it because it was said to be sulfur and cucumber based which I thought would be very helpful for my combo/acne prone skin. As much as I would have liked this toner enough to buy the full size I was a little disappointed. It didn't seem to dry up my existing blemishes at all and sort of left a tacky residue behind. My Dickenson's Witch Hazel Toner seems to be a lot better and cheaper.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
ancal89 8/10/2010 7:49:00 PM
I've been using Dickenson's Witch Hazel pretty consistently for about 6 months now and overall I think it's a very good, natural, and mild toner. I had bought this after being told by an older lady that it would help clear up my acne breakouts, but that it smells horrible. I must say that she was right about the smell(smells a little too "natural" for my taste) but I don't think it does anything special other than clean my skin and balance the pH of my skin. Would like to try out some other toners that smell better and may actually improve my skin but this stuff is perfectly fine.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Sunset
ancal89 8/10/2010 7:41:00 PM
Bought this after hearing that it was a dupe for MAC's Viva Glam V which I had never tried but heard many great things about. Sunset is a very nice neutral shade that would work for pretty much any skin tone. The only two things that I don't like about the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks are that they don't have a nice smell(they smell just like regular lipsticks), and they don't last a long time. May buy this shade again but would like to try out some of the other shades first.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
ancal89 8/10/2010 7:33:00 PM
I've been using this cleanser for about a week and it seems to work pretty good for my oily, sensitive, breakout prone skin. The only thing I don't like is the chemical-like smell...it smells a lot like liquid hand soap or some sort of cleaner. I probably like this cleanser better than my Clearasil Daily Face Wash even though that one smells a lot better. My skin has been looking a lot better lately and I will likely continue to buy this and would also like to try the Fresh Foaming Scrub. EDIT: Don't think I will buy again because the chemical smell of this cleanser just makes it unpleasant to use.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
ancal89 6/15/2010 3:21:00 PM
This foundation gives a light-medium coverage, maybe a little more. I don't know what a "mousse" is supposed to feel like on my skin, but this makeup was definitely creamier than I expected, and because it's so creamy it's a little hard to blend. The color selection is probably the worst quality about this product, I got the lightest shade (Porcelain Ivory Light 1) and it was still too dark for my skin tone. It does give an "airbrush"/satin finish which is nice and the pump packaging is good, however the overall quality of this makeup just isn't great. Decent, but not great. Would probably be better for normal-dry skin.
