This is an amazing product! I think people dont understand how to use or apply this. You only apply this to the roots but you have to put in on freshly washed or wet hair dont put it on top of mousse - this goes in first and spray a very CONSIDERABLE amount through the root area. If you aren't finding luck with this chances are its not this product is another one your using. Try it on its own in the root area on freshly washed hair, no mousse nothing and blow dry. you will see a ridiculous amount of volume. Then the next time add the mousse or hair dry lotion or heat protectant..you may find that one of the other products is moisturising or has silicone in it ..by using a product like that you weight the hair down so when you use that in conjuction with this you wll blame this product. I have tried it on my mum who has permed thinnning hair, my best friend has horse tail thick hair and i have a lot of fine hair and i tworks a treat!!! Ive never had this much volume. ITS NOT THICKENING ITS FOR VOLUME.
This product is definately for normal to dry skin. I have normal to dry skin..this is amazing! I would not rate this as full coverage unless you layer the crap out of it on your face. probably medium coverage if you use a brush, and can even be sheer to light when blended with a sponge, which is what I love. Id rather use a medium coverage product and sheer it out than use a light coverage product and pack it on when i need it..use up less product, and doesn't look cakey at all. It is a satin matte like finish, no shimmer at all. 2.5 shade is great, I have MAC nw20-25 skin tone (in the middle) and this shade, is pretty close...its more on the nw20 side. Not too yellow which is great. Lasts really well, wore it for my wedding and lasted all day and night with powder, and being European weddings start at 7am to finish 1 am . Also used bb powder blush.
Genrally the shades are good. I am nw20-25 and purchased classic ivory. This is a light-medium..more on the light side for coverage. works gorgeous with sponge applicator. for normal to slightly dry or oily skin, not mattifying enough for oily skin, and not moisturizing enough for dry. definately looks like a second skin, because of its light coverage, so it only evens out skin tone and light redness, not freckles. Easy to blend, sets to a slightly matte finish, not a strong matte finish. Well done Maybelline! Exactly what I am looking for. ps: The reason why this is not medium to full coverage, is you shouldnt be constantly building up layers to get full coverage, its better to get a full coverage foundation and apply thin layers for great coverage and beautiful skin like results. I have a broken capillary (smaller than a grain of pepper) and it doesnt cover it. thus not medium to full.
Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08

Great powder highlighter. Very subtle. best used with colours blended together. You would have to use your fingers in the bronze shades to actually get a bronze colour, not pigmented, very very lightly pigmented and all combined together you get a gorgeous soft golden vanilla glow. Not glittery, would last easy 2 years even if used every single day...impossible to use up quickly. Catches the light well, with or without foundation.
I have normal to dry skin, and please note: cream blushes on the whole, have moisturising base ingredients, thus they are more for normal to dry or combination skin, not oily skin. Powder blushes are better for oily skin as they absorb the oil. On to product review. Mac cremeblushes are highly pigmented, a little goes a long way. lit from within glow. no shimmer at all, with any of the creme blushes. this is a natural pink shade, not a coral, or a rose. texture is relatively thick, doesnt leave any slick residue. On me lasts all day as I have normal to dry skin. blends well. Would buy again! I have NW20-25 skin. I have also tried peony, its really nice as well, however lady blush is a more natural and believable colour where as peony is more of a stronger rose shade.
This is not the best cream blush I have used, please see review of each category below texture: very cream, verging on oily. This would be amazing for super dry skin...STAY AWAY if you have ANY oily zones. finish: creamy with a slight "oily" residue. If you put too much on you can certainly tell. a small amount and you cant. colour: mauve pinky peach. like a spring mauvey pink. quantity: amazing - you would last at least 7 -12 months. longevity: is good - as long as you don't brush your cheeks with your hand, as it is highly moisturizing.
I have normal to dry skin, without any blemishes, and barely any skin damage literally 5 tiny freckles so to start with my skin is in really good condition. Not for very dry or very oily skin. coverage: This is a great light coverage foundation. Please don't listen to the counter staff if they tell you its full coverage - they tried it on me and looked cakey.. It is more a light coverage foundation, lets your skin shine through. smell: nothing strong, neutral. finish:satin-matte with a slight luminous finish. NO shimmer or glitter at all. very smooth, doesn't settle into lines. colour: amazing shade range, nothing to yellow or too orange or pink. 5.5 - perfect lightly tan foundation for light-medium skin tones, but i have 5.
Most people don't understand that a tinted moisturiser , is exactly that - a moisturiser (that provides dewy hydration) with VERY sheer to light coverage - can be layered, but you may as well purchase foundation. dewy moisture is never good for oily skin, oily skin benefits from matte or satin matte finish foundations, not dewy moisture. coverage is sheer, just slightly tinted to provide even colour, will not mask sun damaged skin. I love it..have shade 2, beachwood (i am NW20-25), applies wonderfully, love dewy finish (i have normal to dry skin). doesnt smell funny, quite affordable compared to estee lauder and shiseido tinted moisturiser...and i say performs well...no cons at all. in terms of shade - there is not ONE brand out there that can successfully claim to cater to everyones skin colour, the range isn't limited but id say swatch it first.
This (funnily enough) would be great as a luminous foundation that doesn't settle into pores (light coverage) rather than a concealer. I have light-moderate dark circles. Doesn't cover anything. Has illuminating particles but doesn't do much as it doesn't cover shadows. So it is essentially illuminating dark circles. Whilst it doesn't settle into pores, it settles into lines under the eye. Chanel definitely missed on this one. Please take it out in the daylight to see this concealer on your face, not in the lit up makeup counters.
NW20-25, neutral skin - light to medium skin, medium brown hair, dark eyes and quite pigmented lips. This is a plum coppery shade with a little gold shimmer..no not glitter chunks but shimmer. It is a beautiful shade, it is only slightly darker than natural lip tone, but its resignates such a beautiful copper more plum tone (not purple people plum). I find lip glass the least stick of all MAC lipgloss formulas, last ages and if you use a clear lipliner like that from the body shop(lip line fixer) or any other lip liner it will stop the gloss from running (it doesn't but some people over apply it). beautiful! usually lean towards lighter colours..
I am NW20-NW25 with pigmented lips (i have pinky rose pigmented lips) and I struggle to find a nude pink shade when I want to play up my eyes. MAC ANGEL doesnt work for me, neither does any other nude shade they have. This colour is beautiful. I have to swipe twice because my lips are so pigmented, but worth it. It is the only light colour that I can wear. Purchased twice.
I am between NW20 AND NW25 but i have enough dark circles where wearing NW20 works to highlight more than conceal the area so I use nw25 and blends perfectly. I love this conealer. I have cle de peau and rate this one over cle de peau. I have light-medium skin, this is great. doesnt smudge, lasts all day can settle into creases (i am 23, dont have wrinkles but i have big eyes and have a natural crease under my eye that it sinks into)but every concealer will do that, i just apply tactfully in that area. covers well, no one knows I even wear concealer (i dont wear foundation).
I am between a mac NW20 and NW25 (although I can wear NW25 without mixing). This beige is smack bang in the middle of the above mac shades. This is a great creamy but slightly dry high coverage concealer. When i first emulsify this between my fingers its very smooth and creamy but it sets very quickly, so be sure to blend because when it's set - it feels almost slightly dry. If you apply to much it will settle between lines, but don't try to do that and don't apply it over your foundation, works better without it. Great concealer , I rate it over the mac select cover up...worst case scenario - just as good.
Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Five Item Brow Kit

I live in Australia, so to get this is great! Can you duplicate this product? YES - BUT only some of the items - illustrated below These tweezers have been the longest lasting tweezers I have ever owned, so If you have one as good, you could sub that. Brow gel - ANY good brow gel will do, (this one is really good) but if you have one that works well use it, or a clean mascara wand and hair spray. Brow Powder duo - you can use long lasting matte eyeshadow the colour of your eyebrow, in a taupy colour, but this reallly lasts a long time, two colors - one i use to shade in sparse areas and the darker shade to shade in the WHOLE STENCIL so it is dark enough to ensure i pluck OUTSIDE the area...not risking over plucking stencils - amazing. perfect. cannot say anythign else. you can dupe these spooly - I have yet to find a brand that has such a soft but durable spooly, and the brush on the other end is really good..even a mascara wand cant brush through the powder and brows like that does. All in all, you cant dupe the spooly I feel (not in Australia anyway) and for $90 AUD you are getting 5 products for less than $20 a pop, worth more....I have repurchased 3 times in the last 4 years. If you look after it well, the only thing that runs out is a) brow gel everything else lasts 1.5-2 years.
Eyes -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Eye Lights Matte- Matte Shell
anamatovska 10/2/2010 6:41:00 AM
I wish this wasnt a "self sharpening" product. I am between a Mac NW20 and NW25, no real yellow or pink tones to my skin, I am more neutral...light-medium skin tone and I have the medium ash anastasia brow powder. Product: Great. Not obvious - i mean its not Like I swept a cream coloured eyeshadow just under my eye. it looks super natural, like the under brow area is naturally highlighted...but not so natural that it is your skin tone. Lasts all day, really does lift the brow, it IS NOT PINK! it is a mix of a peachy very very light undertione, cream, , not cool toned. It is the colour you'd imagine shell to be... Unfortunately it isn't sold alone anymore, only in brow duality, which sux because i don't like shimmer!!!!! I use it every day, have had it for 4 months now, and ive sharpened it once only. This will definitely last me at least 2 years.
