i love this one so much i'm thinking of buying another! (i already own 2 of the 187 which is a bigger version but i'd trade all of them for 131 if i could!!) this is great for stippling and then sweep-circling my liquid foundation on for a SUPER smooth and natural finish. I adore this brush, it's become my favorite... after i'm done with the foundation, i also use this brush to blend my highlight above my cheekbones, amazing, easy and awesome brush.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sweet & Punchy
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 6/27/2010 12:38:00 AM

i wasn't planning to buy this color, but at the pre-sale for the MAC beach collection, this color intrigued me. what impressed me the most is the texture - super soft, super blendable and workable.... it brings out the brown in my big brown eyes. I pair it with humid, or a dark brown in the corner... it's a more yellow-er green than charteuse pigment, but similar. :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Humid (Frost)
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 6/27/2010 12:36:00 AM

Humid is a very pretty dark green that pairs so nicely with anything else green - sweet and punchy, kelly green, charteuse, surreal... I love using this as the darker corner for a softer smokey-eye. i'd definitely buy it again.

Blush -MAC - Garb
rated 5 of 5

i picked up both of these LE sheertone blushes in the Pret A Papier Collection... these are my first sheertones from MAC and i love them. Garb is a healthy-yet-natural tannish glow on me, i'm NC25 skintone. great for every day! especially when i do a smokey eye or dark e/s colors!

Treatments -Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 4/26/2010 12:58:00 AM

they give 3-day samples of this at the store if you ask... honestly, after the first night, i was walking to work and had a moment of touching my cheek and exclaiming to myself 'soft!' - i've never used a product where that's happened. it won me over - no product has ever done that. i bought the bottle and have never looked back, this is an oil, but absorbs on the skin decently quick, so i've never had issues with oily on my pillowcases. love. this. product. this has become my HG night 'cream'

Eye Shadow -NARS - Habanera Duo
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/31/2010 1:54:00 AM

i LOVE Habanera. love love love. and i felt i've never loved another eyeshadow duo before (but i have, MAC's purplish pigments, but i digress). i love the colors swatched, and i kept looking at my eyes - the mint makes you look twice at my eyes, the darker purplish-grayish shade with shimmer gives a softer smokey eye effect. my friends think it's a softer, gentler look to my usual bolder colors. (right, somehow, mint green isn't as bold in this look!) I'm uploading the 2 photos i took of just the eyes into the product photos - unmistakably asian shaped eyes. i adore this e/s. i thought i could possibly dupe it with MAC's surreal + MAC's Midnight Madness. but something is missing from the dupe - surreal is warmer and midnight madness is cooler and it should work but just doesn't have the same wow factor. NARS, you've won me over. definite buy.

Eyeliner -MAC - Powerpoint - So There Jade
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/31/2010 1:44:00 AM

i walked into MAC thinking i don't need anything (isn't that always the illusion). I happen to be wearing my latest e/s duo from NARS (Habanera) and while waiting for friends to do their MAC purchases, i thought i would update my look to 'evening' and randomly picked up some MAC testers. oops, one of the ones was MAC's So There Jade, a beautiful, frosty tealish-green eyeliner, that complements the minty green in Habanera (not the same shade, but definitely bumps up the sexiness). fell in love - the powerpoint pencil was smooth as butter - even better than my Urban Decay collection. The color was a beautiful finish, and it's been 4 hours and still lasting without a smudge. when i was paying the MAC MA had this liner it on her lower line with a completely neutral e/s look, it popped. perfect. I'd buy it again, but as yet i've never ran out of any eyeliner before buying more/different shades. love this product. checkout the photo in the product gallery i used the liner for the bottom of the eyes.

Lip Liners -MAC - Trimmed in Pink
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/27/2010 4:40:00 PM

i bought this because spring is coming and i'm a bit tired of staying with so much neutral makeup that i already own. the bright pink intrigued me, so i bought it intending to wear with MAC's LE Viva Glam Lady Gaga. but i fell in love with this lipliner - and i never really LOVED any liners before. i want to wear this over everything, it gives you that hint of pink over neutrals and corals, and probably would brighten a darker lipstick. love it. not sure i would repurchase as I've always lost lip liners before i've finished using it all, but if i run out i hope MAC will repromote this liner then. :) give it a try and blend it with your fave neutral colors for a pinkish kick, you won't regret it

Blush -MAC - Prim & Proper - Liberty of London [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/27/2010 4:35:00 PM

so let's start by saying i like the MAC cremeblushes, i own the peach ombres from Spring Forecast that's been sold out (not that impressed). and Prim and Proper is my favorite. i have no idea how to describe it except that it's a bit of rose, ran, peachy all combined together in a 'i've been naughty just now' kind of way, giving you that glow that i never got with even Nars' 'orgasm' blush. it's perfect perfect perfect, I am so glad the MUAers reviewed this product so well that curiosity got the best of me and i had to go get it. my fave blush... I'm NC25 for reference.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Liberty of London_ Perennial High Style
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/27/2010 4:31:00 PM

i've never thought of wanting to buy a backup of any lipgloss before because, let's be honest, MAC releases so many new and often LE colors it's hard to stop from buying new colors even when you don't need them. but this lipgloss is my all time favorite... it's not glittery, just wet shiny and opaque enough to reflect a pretty coral on my lips. for reference i'm NC 25. LOVE this color, alone or over Peachstock. i plan to put it over Ever Hip as well. i own 3 of the 4 Liberty of London lipglosses (i have all but the darkest one) but this is my fave. a must buy!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mulch eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/8/2010 3:07:00 AM

one of the best MAC eyeshadows i own.. Mulch is a slightly shimmery, rich chocolate brown that is perfect for smoking out a look. i bought the Spring Forecase bronzey-quad and the darkest shade in there wasn't very pigmented or dark enough... Mulch to the rescue, it's added the right 'pop' to the quad look. i find myself reaching for Mulch when i want a smokey eye that isn't dramatic black (great for night time, not so great for every day look to work). swatch it on your hand if you have the chance, walk around with it. I'm betting on that you'll find yourself back to the counter to buy this little gem.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/8/2010 3:03:00 AM

first of all, all the viva glam products donate 100% to a great cause, so yay. Gaga is a beautiful cool tone bluish pink that reminds me of a barbie pink in tube - but goes on sheer enough and beautiful to work with. i fell in love with the color, and the MA said she was wearing it, so i tried it at the MAC store, but it looked too cool on me. i went back to question the MA, turns out she put PRRR lipglass on it. and you know what, it turned a very-cool-pink lipstick into a beautiful pinkish coralish glossy lip color. i <3 the combination - absolutely adore. i'm tempted to buy a backup of both as it's sooooo beautiful on me together, for reference i'm an NC25.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Melon
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/8/2010 2:59:00 AM

like all other reviews have said, this is a gorgerous apricoty-gold-peachy color, it's vibrant and beautiful. try mixing it with a bit of electric coral, which is a sheer beautiful pigment (way less scary on than in the jar), and you'll have yourself a beautiful dupe of Expensive Gold e/s melon is beautiful with mulch e/s too, definitely recommend. i'm NC25 for reference, average asian skin.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Sun & Moon
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 3/8/2010 2:51:00 AM

this is very pigmented, but gives a gorgeous sun-kissed lightly bronzed look if you're light-handed enough. completely buildable, it has a bit of shimmers but they make the overall look 'healthy' look and very pretty. i would buy it again but it'll take me forever to use up this one.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Teal Pigment
rated 5 of 5
amytobiko 1/25/2010 8:18:00 AM

it wasn't until recently that i started wandering away from the safe neutrals to blues, purples and greens. i love the Beethoven palette by Kat Von D, so i decided to venture into blue-green color by trying the MAC Teal pigment. you can see the picture the look here http://img.makeupalley.com/9/0/4/2/1521839.JPG it is a beautiful bright true teal - very pigmented. whenever i put on a bright color, i'm always nervous whether i leave the house looking very "Cirque de Soleil" if you will... but since the SJ Sharks color is teal, i wore this color to one of the games. with a paint pot base (MAC's reubenesque) under, a silver near the inner lid and a smokey black on the outer v, the teal pigment stands out and is so beautiful. i got this at the MAC counter as a sample, and love it so much i just ordered a full size on the website.
