Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Double Duty Base & Top Coat
amycarter 7/29/2012 8:58:00 PM
Wayyy too thick for a base and top coat. It will not dry. I wake up with my nails "smushed" and "smudged" because even after half a dat they do not dry. Ugh. Way way way too thick. Trust me on this one. And when it finally DOES dry, your nails peel as if they are a sheet of rubber. I AM THROWING THIS OUT.
Lipstick -Cover Girl - Outlast All Day Lip Color - Berry Preserve
amycarter 7/11/2012 6:32:00 PM
I bought this in *My Papaya"...I did not like this at all. Even with the top 'balm' coat it felt like paint on my lips. And I cannot get it off. Awful. It chips and peels off your lips. I guess this product was not for me. I will steer clear of any other long-lasting lipwear. Just not my thing... I hate lip glosses and lipsticks smear on me. I will stick to NYX matte lip cream. Non-drying and they don't need any balm... However if you ARE into this lipwear...the colour is nice.
Highlighters -Urban Decay - Urbanglow Cream Highlight

I have tried this in both "sin" and "moonshine" Moonshine: WORST highlighter I have ever tried. Ever. I gave this two lippies for the "sin" colour. Moonshine gets no lippies. It is pink and awful on the cheekbones. As the girl below said, it looks like pink eyeshadow on your cheekbones. I got this through a swap and would never re-purchase. Even with blending it looks glittery and pink Sin: Better colour than moonshine, but has TONS of micro-glitter in it. You will have less of a 'glow' and more of a 'sparkle' if you use this. I was looking for something more like my Smash-box 2-in-1 primer and highlighter (because it is discontinued)...but this is just not it. NOT worth the money you pay for it...
I bought these in: San Paulo, Amsterdam, and Antwerp. Here's how it started: I first got "Outlaw" Everlasting liquid lipstick by Kat Von D at sephora. It was $23 plus tax. I tried it out and it was AMAZING. However, I could just not justify spending that much on a red I would only wear occasionally. So I returned it. Then I heard about these NYX soft matte lip creams. Anyway, they are 4 times cheaper and work just about as well. I'd rather own 4 of these than 1 of Kat Von D's. However you should try those out as she is the queen of staying power...and if you are looking for a matte look that will NOT budge, go for those. For more every day wear, go for NYX (it will not last as long) I like these better than the Kat Von D ones. Contrary what people are saying, I did not find these drying at all. They do take a while to dry down to matte though. Probably 5 minutes. EDIT: I loveee these. They smell so good. Like sugar cookies!
Lipstick -Kat Von D - Liquid Everlasting Love - Outlaw

.I thought I looked pretty good, but I just cannot wear reds. I find I look like a clown or like I just walked out of a brothel. It is brick red in my opinion, exactly as it states. I gave it 3 lippies because the formulation is excellent, longlasting, and so velvety matte! I wish there were more colour selections. I would not repurchase in this colour, but would in Lolita!
Lipstick -Kat Von D - Everlasting Liquid Love - Berlin
amycarter 6/26/2012 7:53:00 PM
I tried this lipstick in 'Berlin' ..I thought I looked pretty good, the perfect red, however my dad came down the stairs and said I looked like a hooker. And my Dad is a very reserved man!! He was joking of course, but I returned the colour. I think it is best suited for just a night out or something. I just cannot pull of reds. However the formulation is perfect. Stays on for days, and is perfectly matte. If I need a red lip in the future I will be coming back for this one :) Oh and be warned, this looks more red on your lips than in the tube!

I tried this lipstick in 'Berlin' and 'Outlaw'...I thought I looked pretty good, however my dad came down the stairs and said I looked like a hooker. And my Dad is a very reserved man!! He was joking of course, but I returned the colours. I decided to try Lolita instead because I loved the formulation so much. Anyway, this is the PERFECT colour for me. On me (I am super super pale) it is a dusty rose with a slight hint of brown. It is better suited for the fall in my eyes. I will be keeping this one. We shall see if I repurchase.
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in 'Coral Reef'
amycarter 5/14/2012 9:20:00 PM
Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear is a great polish! It goes on opaque in just one coat. It claims to have "strength" and "shine" which I have to agree with! As for the colour "coral reef" I would describe it as a bubble gum pink (not really a true coral...). I would buy this brand again but their colours are a bit bright for everyday wear.
Although I do love Essie polishes, the quality of this one kind of bombed. I found it thin and streaky and needed 2 coats to get it opaque. It also took a white to dry and I found it worked better without a base coat and just a top coat. The colour however is absolutely gorgeous and I bought this for the summer. Because I generally love the brand and the colour, I would buy again. The quality is not as good as OPI in my opinion, so is it work the price tag? I would say yes, but only when it is on sale!!!! I would NOT buy it regular price.
I have been getting into Essie Polishes. They are either really good or really bad. They are also very expensive! This one was worth it. It is a pink sparkle. I like to put it over a pink nail polish! It takes your nails to the next level. Brings the party to your nails, as I like to say. I love it unconditionally.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
amycarter 5/14/2012 8:51:00 PM
I hate this felt-tip liner with a passion. As the person below me, I decided to try this on a whim because I heard such good things about it. I was looking for a felt-tip like on the Revlon Colorstay felt-tip pen. Instead I got this flimsy piece of felt on the end of a stick. I cannot for the LIFE of me make a good cat-eye with this. And overall I find it WAYYY too black (blackest black). So if I ever buy again I would try a lighter colour...but probably won't repurchase.
I am surprised at the low rating! I have bought this pen twice because I absolutely love the felt tip on the pen!! I cannot find anything that works as well. I find it better than the L'Loreal Lineur Intense that everyone seems to rave about. I am more for the "muted cat eye" so I do not like intense black for my cat eye. So this actually fits me well. I will buy again :)
Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
amycarter 5/14/2012 8:39:00 PM
This the first tinted moisturizer I have ever tried. I LOVE its illuminating qualities. I am going to buy it again for sure. I only gave it 3 lippies because I am convinced there is better out there for me to try. I am getting into wearing tinted moisturizer on a daly basis instead of foundation. The transition has lessened clogged pores and made my complexion excellent! I am going to order this in Ivory (Shade 1) next time as I am NC20 and found Shade 2 was a tad orange for me.
NO. This smells WAY too sweet for my liking. Smells like someone spilled some cotton candy on stove and let it burn away. Not my cup of tea at all. Glad to have ruled this one out! I got a sample, but I would never buy this outright.
Three words: BROKE ME OUT. And badly too. I could not figure out why I had all these red bumps all over my face. This was the culprit. I am not willing to sacrifice my skin for this product. I find it VERY over-rated. Beautiful colour, but not for me. Now I have to deal with acne scars...Thanks to Mac MSF hype. I totally fell for it. I really wish it could have worked though. They are beautiful. But I am scarred :(
