Guys please do not waste your money on this product. Just use aloe to *help* clear scars.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy

This is my favourite hair serum. I received it as a gift and was able to finish it in a year. I was disappointed to learn that it costs $30 for a bottle (so I have not repurchased). Instead I have been using what I think is the "dupe" --Proclaim, which works just as good and costs a fraction of the price (and has lasted me YEARS)!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Proclaim - Natural 7 Oil

This has got to be the most underrated hair product in hair history. I have long, thick black hair. I get numerous compliments and everyone wants to know my "secret" on how it gets so shiny. Really, it's so simple! I never really put much thought into my "hair regime" but since I get asked so frequently, I hope my review helps someone: 1) I wash with a dime size amount of shampoo all over my entire head, careful to massage and lather in my roots/scalp. 2) I use again, a dime size amount of conditioner on just my ends. 3) On damp hair, I apply two drops of Proclaim (which I warm up with my palms) and dispense all over my hair. I brush the product in and let it air dry/blow dry it in with a roller brush. Easy as cake. I never use any other hair product such as gels, sprays, leave in conditioners --nada. I find the more hair products you use on your hair, the worse it becomes. I purchased this product during three years ago for $15 at my local salon. It's still no where near done. You don't need a lot, and it does wonders to hydrate my dry hair in the winter/summer time and adds that extra gloss over (which salons will over charge you for!)

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
amary18 12/11/2012 9:49:00 PM
I wasn't too thrilled when the MUA at MAC recommended I buy this product in addition to the makeup I was purchasing...after all it was just "mineral water." However, I'm the type of girl who takes two minutes in the morning to apply my makeup. Sometimes I notice in spite of moisturizing, there are dry patches on my skin that need some type of hydration. I found that spraying the studio fix does relieve my urge to wash off my makeup and start from scratch. So yes, I will repurchase because I love the way it feels! My make up does last longer without it.

Lipstick -MAC - Rebel Lipstick
amary18 12/11/2012 9:39:00 PM
When I first saw this colour in the MAC store, I thought it was hideous. Mind you, when I did apply it, I feel in love. The colour looks intimidating, but to all my ladies with NC42/C6 skin tones (or anywhere in that colour range) this colour will look....AMAZING on you. Well at least this was the case for me (everyone has their own preferences at the end of the day). I especially love wearing Rebel in the fall time or in the office. Compliments are endless, and YES I will repurchase when my tube is finished. Rebel is such a classic, sophisticated colour.

Lipstick -MAC - Brave Red - Cremesheen

I wanted to love this lipstick after hearing such great reviews, however it just wasn't for me. I don't think it complimented my NC42/C6 skin tone very much...The times I did wear it, I would blend it with Rebel. I will not be repurchasing.

Lipstick -MAC - Pro Lipstick - Show Orchid
amary18 12/11/2012 9:34:00 PM
Oh how I love this colour for my NC42/C6 skin in the summer time/for night time, evening looks. My signature look has been referred to as "black hair, black dress/outfit...and PINK lips" thanks to snow orchid lipstick. What i love about this lipstick is that it doesn't bleed on me so I never have to worry about applying lipliner with it. It's a gorgeous colour and I receive compliments every time I wear it! Definitely will repurchase. I've had it for a year now and it feels brand new with each wear (I'm not an avid follower of make-up expirey dates) but I don't share my make up products so if it's just me using.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
amary18 12/11/2012 9:29:00 PM
I purchased this product, feel in love with it after using it twice..but then, I had buyers remorse...$50.50 + tax on a single brush??? OUTRAGEOUS. I returned it. I had a friend who suckered me in to buying Coastal Scent brushes online during their Black Friday event...I was able to add dozens of items in my cart that totalled the cost of my one beloved MAC brush... Boy did I regret purchasing the Coastal Scents brushes...Over the years, I invested in tons of crummy brushes and the fact that the process was online and I could not see them or feel them bothered me. I'd much rather suck it up and invest in the 187 (which better last me a LIFETIME) LOL. I will be returning to the MAC store to repurchase tomorrow. The application is FLAWLESS. My face makeup takes two minutes. Quick, easy and feels like skin.

Toners -Aveeno - Skin Clarifying Toner with Soy Extract
amary18 12/11/2012 9:24:00 PM
A co-worker recommended I switch from Olay toner to Aveeno. She said that the Olay toner I was using contained alcohol which irritated my dry skin. Fortunately, around Christmas time, Aveeno products are sold in sets (4 products for around $15) so I decided to try it out. I will admit that the toner is much better in comparison to the Olay products, and I use it daily to tone after I wash my face. Unfortunately, I see NO results using this product in refining my pores, and think the only reason I like it is because I prefer it over the Olay toner. I use it with a cotton ball, but I don't think I would ever repurchase...I'm better off using a cotton ball and a dime size amount of Cetaphyl/Spectrum.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #190 Foundation Brush
amary18 12/11/2012 9:19:00 PM
I bought this product to apply my MAC Studio Fix Foundation four years ago. I remember it being quite pricey, but I will admit that it has never shedded in washing it, and the brush remains really soft. Thing is, I never was happy with the application results, but perhaps I don't have the technique down/clear enough skin. Having said that, I rarely reach for it and wish I invested in the 187 instead.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Differin Cream
amary18 12/11/2012 9:12:00 PM
I have mild acne, with some scarring. With the cold weather here in Canada my skin has become super dry. I switched my facewash and moisturizer regime to Cetaphyl face wash for normal/dry skin and the "bootlegged" drugstore version of the Cetaphyl moisturizer (I can assure you it's the exact same ingredients without the "brand name"). Since switching from Spectrum facewash (which I normally use in the summer time) I have felt an immediate difference in my skin. Goes to show the importance of "know thy skin." The guy at the NARS counter recommended this product to me, and I got it today from my family doctor. I will provide updates in weeks to come on the results I experience. UPDATE: This is my second day using Differin cream. I apply it in the night and wash it off in the morning using Cetaphyl face wash. I then moisturize and apply loose powder. --I noticed that my skin felt really dry, really tight. It felt irritated. Midway through the day I wanted to wash my face to hydrate it anyway possible. When I came home I noticed that my eyes swelled up. My forehead has also broken out under the skin. My skin is at it's worst condition...I really wish I never tried this product. I'm using some aloe vera to relieve the dryness and hydrate it back to its normal state. I'm so done with trying skin products with chemicals.........definitely won't be using it again. Thank goodness my plan covered this so I only paid $20. --Such a waste.
